Good one , helpful , wanted to know more tools for EKS cost saving efforts , there are also some third party tools which boasts of monthly EKS savings, however wanted to know what intrinsic AWS tools are available to achieve the same
Hi there, thanks for the professional explain. My question is if I buy the RIs or SavingPlans and the pricing is per hour, may I run multi-instances in a short term to run out of capacity? ex: I buy a year, but my company is going to hold an activity and want to run out of all of the hours within two months. ex: I buy a year, my instance only works on Mon to Fri. May I use multi-instance to run out of the rest of the hours?
I have two instances one for the database and one for file storage I want to merge both and make it a single instance. How I could do that and will it impact the cost?
How do I calculate the costs if I have several TH-cam videos on my website (ec2). So no uploads only TH-cam links added where visitors can play the videos. How do you calculate the costs that will come up for me ? what do you call these costs that arise?
Hi , Could you please suggest on Orphaned / Idle Resources. Do we have any AWS service to detect and clean up - Unused Elastic IP Addresses - Unused EBS Volumes - Unused snapshots (Snapshots that are not associated with AMI) - Unused Security Groups (Snapshots that are not associated with any EC2) - Unused Elastic Load Balancers (ELBs with no instances) - Unused Launch Configurations (LCs that are not associated with a ASG) - Unused Auto Scaling Groups (ASGs that Desired Capacity set to 0) - Unused EC2 Instance - Unused Cloud Formation - Unused S3 Buckets If any other services could cost additional which is not consumed. Looking for your suggestion. Best Regards, Dineshkumar A
Excellent discussion about the features and it was a well-made video by Peter.
Good Intentions are nice, but mechanisms are what we actually need to get results

You can use AWS Trusted Advisor for this.
