Mission 14 in the Allies / Allied / GDI campaign.
Mission Name: No Remorse
Map Name: Allies 14 / SCG14EA
Hard difficulty, Fastest game speed
Mission briefing:
This is it -- the final confrontation! The Soviets have nowhere to run now. The only thing that remains is to topple the Soviet seat of power. Destroy everything to make sure that no one takes Stalin's place. No sorrow. No pity. No remorse.
The chaos of massing tanks is so strangely satisfying in this game.
1:16 - By use it cautiously, he means don't even waste the credits and power to get one, because you can't do anything with it. Can't have fun by chronoing enemy tanks into the water. Chronoing one medium tank is useless, it gets swarmed and dies instantly. Moving a Cruiser to a different lake isn't worth it, you could have bought so many more tanks for the price of the Chronosphere and Cruiser. And you'll need to buy tanks anyway to finish since the Cruiser still won't be able to reach everything.
Ive got this mission next; was thinking about chronoing an APC full of engineers+tanya
@@lomiification That's the thing; Chrono-teleport infantry kills them instantly. Even inside APCs.
@@VallenChaosValiant Kills everyone besides Einstein it seems.
And don't get cute trying to chromosphere a nuke truck, it explodes in place instantly. That's the reason in RA2 the chromosphere teleports in a grid of 3*3, to make it viable.
@@VallenChaosValiant yeah that was very disappointing when I tried it
Ah, CnC. The feeling of creating an entire legion of tanks just to crush the enemy, and squish enemy troops. So satisfying!
I mean that’s all I do in every strategy game, hold position while amassing a giant army and then just roll over the enemy
I once did a play through of RA2 doing only mass basic infantry for the whole thing, or as much as I could. Ranking units got to be pretty OP.
Your Quick Strategy and Execution of orders shows your understanding of the game mechanics. My last game play of this was like total 8 to12 hours as i took my time and turtled. Good show sir. Keep it up and kudos.
The campaign mode in this game always felt so lopsided to me. A sleeping baby could complete the Soviet one with no trouble while parts of the Allied campaign are just sadistic.
I always felt like that even in the PlayStation days and playing the modern remaster only reminds me of it. The thieves always get burned in the opening barrel explosions and Tanya doesn't react to the dogs in time while moving.
AGREE man,
😂 that's why I'm here. This mission is ridiculous.
Those god damn soviet dogs... I swear to god.
I hate the missions where you're in the facilities, no bases, you get what you get, gotta go steady. Oh and there's a timer!
@@BuhurtUKnah that’s easy. Distract the fire defence with a soldier to take one hit he won’t die. Then send the engineer by also only getting one hit.
That and multiple quick saves too
Those silly looking musketeer thieves...
Selling your Construction Yard....now that's confidence
I just realised how similar the opening FMV is, with the tank going through the wall, as the scene from Goldeneye where Bond does the same!
Interesting. I noticed most C&C players on youtube seem to go for mass tank approach. I always played the game by turtling behind turrets and then launching suicide runs with engineer APCs, using some tanks as decoy to distract the defenders while my APCs capture the construction yard of the enemy (and build tesla coils in their base).
It’s more fun your way because with mass tanks you finish the game in 30 min.
I do a mixture. Tanks at there main gate, minigunners and apcs at back entrance , them a couple of engy apcs JUST to make sure
Engineer spam is less useful in RA since you can't take over a building until it gets to red damage. So you end up with more tank spam compared to Tiberium Dawn.
My strategy was always to go after the harvesters and starve the enemy
I mass the Light tank - love its speed
wow! you did it in 11.30 minutes! that must be a record! amazing, well done mate!
I took it slow and set up tons of battleships in the small water areas. The medium sized ones brought down any aircraft coming in and the cruisers guns spammed the enemy before they could rush in. Then I just suicide bombed the enemy construction yards with about 10 helicopters stopping them cold. I finally did what you did and swarmed in with my tanks but only after hitting all the tesla coils since those caused severe damage. Casualties were minimal in exchange for taking about an hour lol
An RTS with no pop cap...I miss that.
This approach reminds me of what SC2 Zerg players use when attacking, spearhead with high tech units, and once the frontline is broken reinforce with Zerglings and Roaches. As a kid I would chronosphere a Cruiser to shell as much as I can reach and used Helicopters to chew on the power plants, but a few years ago when I replayed the game on hard I just massed tanks like you did here and brute-forced my way in.
I always find it funny that they play the soviet total victory animation if you lose in the final mission.
They are litterary pushed all the way to Moscow which is also encircled but if you lose this one battle there is no way to stop the soviets apearently
Commander, if you die there's no tomorrow for the allies
@Mansacktastical Yes but if you look at the map you can see that the allied blue borders are all the way of the screen so it suggest at least to me that moscow is encircled and Moscow was never encircled in ww2 the germans were close but they didn't encirle it plus the real soviets recovered becouse of the American help here the soviets are alone and litterary everybody is against them
@@jurajhrubizna2790 I think its due to the iron curtain super weapon, perhaps.
How do you get units to automatically join the battle on creation, like the mini tanks seem to do here?
Also have you considered making videos with general gameplay tips and guides like that?
Just spam the select all units hotkey, I remapped mine to Y instead of Shift+A for easy pressing.
The game:Set in 1950 Also the game:Here Abrams tank and Apaches for the allies, have fun!
Everyone:
Tanya: SHAKE A BABY
Chew on this rock!
KA CHING!
hahahahaha
That's a rock!
So, I’m not sure if this will help with this or not, but when you Q-move/ attack, I’ve noticed if you give a greater distance away from the target building it makes it easier for your force to destroy them faster, and partially sets you up a little better for the next move
9:33 what’s the tactic behind selling your construction yard?
Gotta hand it to you... That was effective.
3:10 It's strange, the reinforcement didn't come when I played this mission, may I did something wrong?
How were you making the light tanks go directly from the weapons factories to the front lines without having to go select them?
I have the same doubt 🤷
There is a hotkey combination in RA remastered which allows to select all available battle units. So it can be used to continuously order all your troops to move to the frontline
Was your mouse on fire after this? I play this like an OAP in comparison!
The Soviets terrorized the land with their double gunned tanks, terrorized the skies with their MiGs, hinds and yaks, and terrorized the seas with their pirate submarines.
omg, last allied mission in 14 minutes, You are crazy!! :D (in positive way, of course)
You know it's funny, I knew the actual names of like barely even half of the missions in RA1 (the original version) since they're only shown on the "restate briefing" screen, and for the majority of the missions the preceding cutscene is plenty enough to get the point across of what you're supposed to be doing so I didn't bother checking it for most of the missions. :D
Okay so when playing this mission as a kid I remember the enemy lunching a Nuke at my base having the white screen of death happen and everything but I noticed they even managed to launch it after destroying the missile silo. What triggers the nuke in this mission?
How did you get your fresh built tanks to join the other tanks in action?
select all units hotkey
Shift + A - Default - Select all units across map
RIP Gene Dynarsky(Stalin) it was very good and talent actor.
the best
Are you stu from Toronto that was amazing in red alert?
I got respect for your strategy.
okay -how to set the move marker straight from the vehicle factory to the target zone ?
"Select all units" hotkey!
@@StuGames how do you select all units?
why did he killed stalin and who is that guy
Destroying the Soviet Union and seeing communism fall is all the fun I'll ever need. And luckily... this game provides me plenty of toys to burn Moscow to the ground.
try the same with China now, pal!..
@@alexanderlukichov9590 Yes, we need a new game were we can crush China.
I loved to crush capitalism and the American Way of life with my tanks.
As a romanian guy who lived in Eastern Europe under communism(and who also happens to have greek roots), seeing communism crushed has a quite extatic feeling inside me.
So the more war factories you build, the faster the build time?
That's right, I believe it's up to 6 factories for the Allies and 7 for soviets, although normal maps won't have enough minerals to support that many. You can also choose which factory to spawn the tanks at.
@@StuGames Thanks
08:18 dat squish
Didn't know the tanks are such beasts...And I was still doing regular building when I played this mission today for first time lol. Spent an hour for clearing it. I guess the same strategy works for Soviet as well. (Just don't build heavy tank)
I find late-game Allied missions easier because the Allies get the GPS Satellite, fast tanks, and a strong navy. The Soviets have to deal with Gap Generators, AT mines, Destroyers, and Cruisers.
Every game on YT I see people build 2-4 War Factories, why? They don't do anything in this game right? You can just set another one as primary, but you can't build multiple units?
I just learned from this comments section (so not after playing many, many hours of CnC) that more factories means faster build time. I figured, since the units only ever roll out of one factory, there wasn’t really a point building multiple, but apparently there is!
Hm, so if you order Tanya to C4 a church, you get credits from that, and you immediately call off the attack? Are you SURE the Soviets are the bad guys here?
You're supposed to get the credits from the church after destroying it, but destroying the churches seems to cause extra enemy air raids. Fortunately Tanya can grab the credits with a fake C4 attack :)
Soviets wouldn't have called her off.
I remember... Staline never get happy ending. :-p
I played this mission for the first time the other day (normal difficulty) on the old version. It took two hours. Is this what the developers intended? It was a real slog. No build queue on original increased micro management. Built 6 ore trucks, built out the base, built 40 ish medium tanks, waited for GPS. Took out the south base with this force, and continued building tanks. Reinforced remaining 10ish tanks with another 25, managed to destroy the conyard and one tank factory and barracks before this force completely wiped out.
They carried on pumping out mammoth tanks, I ended up building three more forces before finishing the level. Even base walked down the gems in the south east.
I guess it's just an old game and they wanted it to take time. Prefer RA2 tbh, grew up playing that.
Yet what happens to me? As soon as I build my refinery, they airstrike my power plant and construction speed gets reduced to like 5%
insta-buy another power plant after the refinnery? you should be able to start build it immediately after deploying refinery :)
How do you get the ingame video quality so good? Mines horribly fuzzy.
Maybe you're playing in classic mode, try pressing space
Sorry bad wording, I meant like the
cut scenes like where you get your briefings. My quality is so bad and I don't know what setting to change as I've got good specs..
You sell command center for money or do it has any benefits?
yep, it gives you a lot of cash when you don't need to build structures anymore
At that time he already had all necessary buildings ( he was spitting tanks quicker that some infantry build times and had 5/6 refineries with 8 collectors). And for that strategy no need for higher tech buildings. But 5k( plus 1 engineer and some infantry) gives him some more tanks. That he needs.
Would of liked to have seen you wait for your spy sat uplink and destroy the civi buildings. Other than that, it was good
Impressive. Are you going to attempt the expansion packs as well?
hopefully!
I think he gave them Hell.....
Are mamooth tanks nerfed in the remake??
nope
1:05 ah, the chrono vortex. One thing to hate about using the Chronosphere in the first game, and it is RNG on where it would appear. Hahahaha.
i was so mad at the soviets, I build a navy base and 4 cruisers and just let them whale on the troops for an hour. I kicked the shit out of them
How can I play this? 🤔
it's on steam :)
and pirate bay
Anyway, learnt a fair bit from this video. What a bastard that guy who murdered Stalin
Who is stravos?
and according to the lore for red alert one and 2 the allied assult and counter attack is cannon etc.
Is this where Stalin implement Order No. 227?
It would be much harder to complete that mission without keyboard.
unlike the wehrmacht's Operation Barbarossa, I guess allies didnt have to suffer a defeat in Stalingrad and just move into Moscow...And had plenty of oil to fight the red army...
The allied story branch is such a bore.
luckily its not canon
@@hunterseeker8906 it is canon if you are following the red alert timeline. And yeah initially it was supposed to be a tiberium prequel but that's as far as it went... "supposed"...
Cutscene-wise definitely. I like the allied missions more than the soviet ones though.
@Laura Allard the soviet campaign being a prequel to the tiberium games was also scrapped. Like i said.. it was "supposed" but never materialized (aside from that kane cameo that was never followed up in the future)
@@hunterseeker8906 The Allied campaign is canon for the Red Alert universe, while the Soviet campaign is canon for the Tiberium universe.
I found this extremely difficult to beat, only beat it once
Annoying start, then it was easy. Weird mission to be the last mission of allied campaign. i excepted something different
Why did Stavros murder Stalin?
Probably revenge for the horrible damage Greece suffered in the war, which as I recall was Stavros' home country.
@@thegimlichannel In mission 5 briefing, Stavros loses his cool after the news report of the fighting in Greece.
In mission 6 briefing, Stavros spaces out.
A bit of a lame character arc since the worse thing we see is the Parthenon being blown up.
@@craigmcpherson1455 To be fair, the clips are pretty short, and going on and on about what happened in Greece probably just would've taken up too much screentime :)
most probably in revenge for Greece... Stavros was really shocked before ...
It was also asumed that his family was among the victims in the fighting in Greece
wait, the far left commander, the one with the freddie mercury moustache, is supossed to represent an spaniard commander? he has an spanish flag in his jacket collar and he seems to be wearing an old "policia nacional" uniform....
Yes. All of Europe is united against Stalin.
@@ShadowMoon878 i know, is just that is kind of weird that he is using what seems an old spanish police uniform instead of a military one
@@picoletor It's likely what the original dev team in the 1990's could get their hands on.
Tanks are overpowered in this game. Infantry, aircraft and ships are of little use. Tank spam beats the AI everytime.
i used to get like 12 migs, 4 each per hotkey would kill a turret or something
The multiplayer on the remaster is just a boring tank fest. This wasn't the case on the later C&C games.
Definitely not overpowered, just simply the overall best unit type. I would say the main reasons are because of their mobilty and versatility. That said, I would say that aircraft and ships are underpowered, rather than tanks overpowered. Too ineffective for their price, for sure.
If you can keep the enemy tanks engaged with your tanks, a swarm of infantry can actually be very effective. The biggest problem is how vulnerable they are to being crushed or burned, but combined firepower is very good.
I Hate watching these videos, because by the time I've built 1 refinery I'm getting hit with air strikes and mammoths. And I can't for the life of me see why you aren't after building 4.
Did you destroy the church? Iirc you're not supposed to in this mission because they cause the airstrikes.
@@StuGames - lol, yes I did, wow. How do you get that info?
Do you play Starcraft?
Yep, I've done speedruns for SC1 and Brood war Remastered as well.
A strategy I use in C&C games is to group units into a team by selecting a number of units then use ctlr+# the # can be 1-0 if you want to select them in next time you just need to press the # for that team it can make ordering certain unit(s) to do a specific task without having to find them first to select them.
one mig escaped at the end :)
3:02 - Anyone else's butthole clench when that dog kept going left behind the Tesla Coil?
hard mode in skirmish is just as easy as easy.. they dont use anything over radar they dont use tech center or build missile silos ect.. they just are 20% harder to shoot at or whatever.. i duno about campaign tho
Yep, on Hard you get a massive penalty to multiple stats and enemies get the same as a bonus. It's a huge difference. There are some minor AI differences as well but that's not very important.
@@StuGames why doesnt hard mode skirmish give the computer the ability to build a tech center? Ive played out a game for hours once to see if they would eventually build one but the farthest they got was an airstrip and that was like an hour into the skirmish.
You can alter that by editing rules.ini and adding a key in the [AI] section. I can't remember it's name from top of my head but once added, Skirmish AI will build tech centres too along with AA guns and helicopters. However, if you don't start with at least 8000 credits they will build and immediately sell the tech centre especially if they are Allies teams.
AI will never build a navy as the code simply doesn't exist.
I expect the AI to be completely overhauled in the near future by the modding community to be up to 2020 standards and not dumb as shit where it doesn't even know how to use some units like MAD tanks even though it will build them.
@@spudeeelad Does the remaster have rules.ini? 😆 I don't have it yet so don't know. I downloaded RA from somewhere and the file has clearly been modified a bit in the way you say, the AI is way more advanced than in the original unmodified game. They even build chronotanks though don't know how to use them properly
Heh, I tried to send the spies to every other building than the silos - never understood what to do. I uncovered all terrain I could with Tanya and only realized something's not right when the first Iron curtain'd Mammoth Tank rolled in while I'm still running around with the spies in tow - gg. I'll go restart and actually succeed : P blah
I love all c&c games with everything I have. Just put c&c 4 out of the list.
I finished by capturing buildings in Normal hehehe
lol the ha lol
The writing is pure genious in this one. I like the soldier acting his heart out, he's probably the best actor in Red Alert next to Stalin.
@@StuGames Kane want's to know your location.
yeah great acting of the 90s just that laugh was funny
Dont lnow wht he didn't get helicopters and cruisers ships as well
The whole allied campaing is a mess.
Why bother with a high tech level approach, right? 🤔
Chronowhat?! 🤨
I think not 😏
Tanks! And plenty of 'm 😌
The chronosphere is super useless unfortunately ;(
@@StuGames chronosphere is usefull in Red Alert 2.
In RA2 you can use different kind of tactics. Make rapair tank etc.
I wish they could make Red Alert 2 remaster. I always prefered RA2 over RA1. I spent many, many hours in RA2 YR.
One battle lasted over 4 hours in TOE map. Great days
@@StuGamesI remember that there is actually one mission where it is useful. In this mission you just have to destroy a specific building if I remember correctly and you can capture the Iron Curtain. Then if you use the chronosphere and Iron Curtain, you can finish it by using just one tank. This is much easier and faster than doing a conventional full-scale attack on the main enemy base
