Fern Nichols was at her wit’s end, trying to deal with a rebellious, wayward son. Though in despair because of Ty’s worldly choices, she stayed on her knees in prayer for him. A former teacher and founder of Moms in Prayer International, Fern understood the power of Deuteronomy 3:22, which declares, “Do not be afraid; the Lord your God Himself will fight for you.” Thankfully, Ty was transformed by her prayers and God’s love, which brought him to repentance.

Fern Nichols is a former elementary school teacher and founder of Moms in Prayer International, formerly known as Moms in Touch International. Their mission is to encourage moms to gather together in prayer for their children and their children’s schools. The ministry has grown throughout the years and is now in over 140 countries. Fern is also the author of five books, including Prayers from a Mom’s Heart, and Mom’s Little Book of Powerful Prayers. She has traveled across the globe teaching, speaking and training women to pray effectively. Fern and her husband, Rle, have been happily married for over 50 years. They have four grown children and many grandchildren.
