I loved this scene... it was probably better than what went down in the book / what I imagined. I completely understand them both. Conrad didn't want to break up with her but he was depressed and being at prom was the last place he wanted to be especially knowing his mom was approaching her last days. He could've communicated that to Belly however she didn't even give him a chance to do so. She was left to assume he didn't want to be with her anymore and that they were over. What a mess.
I think saying that "she didn't even give him the chance to do so" is a bit stretched when he's the one who left the first without wanting to say anything.
she most definitely gave him the chance to... she showed him countless times that she was there for him to talk to about anything, so I don't really see how you can fault her for anything? It was just Conrad's lack of communication and ruining a night that Belly was obviously excited for...

It's hard for Conrad to communicate when he doesn't want to ruin her night. He didn't wanna be unfair to her but he ended up doing it anyways. Also I'm not faulting her for anything so please do not misinterpret me. As I said, I understand them both and it's just miscommunication all around. Belly assumed he wanted to break up, she gave him back the necklace. She put words in his mouth. He told her to wait (he didn't want to let her go) and he drove off bc he knows she's better off without him when he's always disappointing her somehow. All Conrad wants is for Belly to be happy but in that moment he was a bit selfish and couldn't pretend he wanted to be there bc he's depressed about his mom. Also just bc someone keeps pressuring and prodding you to communicate your feelings / thoughts doesn't mean you'll eventually open up especially when you know "if you make this choice something bad will happen and if you don't then something else will happen" (he literally said this at the beginning of the season) Conrad is confused / overthinks every little scenario to the point where he shuts down in hard moments... he probably has a dismissive avoidant personality while Belly is more open and honest. Conrad is more rational because he's older and Belly is confrontational bc she's younger and more naive. Belly does deserve a lot better and even Conrad knows that which is why he removes himself from the situation altogether. He doesn't want to be a half assed boyfriend and stick around when he knows he's incapable of giving her the absolute best. But you probably don't get it or even want to understand 🙄 Relationships and feelings are hard especially mixed in with everything else going on. At the end of the day they're both just teenagers going through the motions. The point is I’m not faulting / putting down one character to uplift another. I literally love and can relate to both of them.
i loved how steven was stepping up as the big brother. first when he makes sure conrad asks belly to dance and then during the dance he was watching her the whole time to make sure shes okay. then after going to get her to check up and giving her that big hug we were all waiting for🥹🥹
You can tell that Conrad doesn't want to break up, he's just grieving his dying mother, and can't enjoy himself at a ball or an after party. He clearly just doesn't want to be so negative around Belly and ruin her night. Belly should have just given him some space. Also idk if this is explained more in the books, i haven't read them.
EXACTLYYYYY, she just jumped to the conclusion real quick.. i cant begin to imagine what conrad would have been going through and that too for monthss, the sadness and helpless feeling and still trying to moving on with life (college etc) coz life doesn't stop... he must be going through 24/7 would be exhausting as well, i was so happy that he found genuine happiness with belly, but.... And belly was also really close to his mom all the more reason to be understanding towards him coz everyone is different and deals with things differently.. and the break up was on such bad and dramatic notes which was sadder for both and I think especially Conrad, talking things out in a more mature way would have been better if she really wanted to breakup with him.
Hm.... I agree but I think it’s a little more complex than that. I think Conrad had been pushing her away for a long time. They’re both really messed up and grieving, but I think in the relationship he wouldn’t open up or talk to her. It’s clear in the other scenes she felt really helpless. It’s a rough one but I kinda see where she was coming from, when your so can’t lean on you, you start to grow apart and insecurity enters real easy.
@@kezibeeart3552 I think that's true as well, Conrad definitely has the tendency to push people away when he's dealing with something, he wants to solve it himself and tries to "protect" others, when really he's just pushing them away. But I really don't think he wanted to break up, he just couldn't deal with the prom and the party at the time and wanted to leave. We also know he was super depressed about the breakup from his roommate

I get why Belly jumped the gun. Considering her age I can understand why she might act this way. What I hate is that the show pins this as Conrad's fault. The boy was dealing with so much here and I honestly don't think he was trying to break up. He was struggling and needed someone to reach out and be there for him but no one did. Conrad has already apologized to Belly for what happened at prom and the funeral. Now I just wish Belly realized that she isn't exactly the poor little victim she paints herself as. She is the one who broke up with him. She is the one who put words in his mouth and left him when he was down only to move on with his brother a month later. The show needs to acknowledge this. I'm tired of how they keep pinning the blame on Conrad when it's not entirely his fault. I hope Belly has a proper period of growth and takes at least some accountability for the hurt she caused others instead of just pointing out how others have hurt her.
This hurt more than the books I knew it was coming but to actually see it unfold ouch especially to see Belly return her necklace to Conrad. But they are infinite no matter what happens their soulmates

she threw it all away. she broke it off. she didn’t understand the trauma he had been dealing with after his mother’s death, his panic attacks and still created a scene at the funeral. oh, and then she started flirting with his brother, and eventually dated him. honestly she doesn’t deserve any of the brothers and is out of their league.
he did ruin her prom. i get she should’ve been more understanding, but she saw him with another girl at the funeral. and she apologised multiple times throughout the show for the funeral scene. and conrad treated her shittily many times, susannah’s death isn’t an excuse. oh and let’s not forget jeremiah cheats on her in the books. belly cheats when she was 16, but jeremiah does it when he’s like 20. major difference there.

It seemed like he needed comfort. I never once saw Belly comfort Conrad on his mom’s passing. Yea she was there for him and all, but even when they went on a getaway to Cousins Beach during the winter all Belly did was make it about her and what she wanted to happen. Never has she asked him how he felt or how’s he’s doing since his moms passing. How’s he’s coping. Is he doing alright. Etc. The funeral scene imo lowkey exemplifies what the other ex had the capacity to do that BELLY COULDNT - which was to simply comfort him. Belly lowkey makes everything about herself, like I get she’s the protagonist but she’s so invested in her lifelong obsessive dream of her and Conrad that now that she has him she literally forgets him as a human and his human needs. We should see our significant others as the human they are not the dream/idea we’ve yearned for. No one wants to criticize Belly’s character for the mere fact that she’s the protagonist so we’re used to siding/co-signing all their shenanigans.
fr!! and she is always making a scene somehow. like in the very first episode of season one when her and steven fight and then everyone looks at her, and then the funeral, and then her and steven AGAIN at the party. like sometimes she should wait and learn that certain conversations or words should be said at certain times and places. i know she’s young and a lot of people use that to defend her, but most 16-17 year olds are more mature than her.
As much as I don’t like belly’s character, relationships are still a two-way street. “He just needed comfort” no, he didn’t. He needed a lot more than that, but even he doesn’t really know what he needs. Conrad has major communication issues and keeps deciding things for people on his own. He thinks it’s best to not burden belly with his struggles and try to be a normal bf for her. In the first season he didn’t tell Jeremiah about their mom’s condition bc he thought that was what’s best. He’s probably trying to be considerate, but it’s really not considerate. Not only does he hurt others by doing this, he hurts himself too and then he needs so much comfort and care

This episode made me tear up a bit because it was Belly who decided to end things not Conrad. They seem so perfect for each other. I’m really hoping they will get back together by the end of the season. They will find a way to reconnect their love for each other.

His behavior is repeatable. Belly had already seen him shut down on her after the almost kiss and the reason she broke up with Cam. She knows he’s going through the same thing where he’s shutting her out again in this prom scene. It’s an emotional high/lowroller coaster she has to go through with him.
@@Kuromiyapp personally I just prefer him because I feel like I understand his characters motivation more than I do Jeremiah. As the designated responsible sibling in my own family I relate to him more, and I feel like when he does screw up the motivation behind his actions is generally a misguided attempt to do the right thing by others but when Jeremiah has screwed up his motivation has been self serving. I mean if this was reality they'd both be terrible options and Cam Cameron would be the only logical choice. But what I want in actual reality is not what I want out of a soapy drama.
Except for episode 4. Skye and the mom really detracted from the storyline. I felt all their scenes were awkward and really threw off the other actors vibes. felt very scripted and stale. I loved the first 3 episodes though! Hoping next week is an improvement!
Honestly this kinda gave me such vibes parallels to ginny and… her guy in ginny and georgia. Basically long story short, her bf was clinically depressed but she didn’t know it so instead of telling her that he was going through an episode and that she was the only one best thing in his life that made her happy through it, she thought he didn’t wanna be with her. This is why communication is so important. But again they’re teens and ppl grieve differently

Belly should've been more understanding and patient. Just bc he's not all happy and dancing didn't mean he wanted to break up. He may not have been able to fully able to enjoy himself, but he still wanted to be with her despite his emotional instability.
She was literally more that patient and understanding, she asked him was he okay and told him that if he needed to talk she’s there for him. At her own prom she’s clearly miserable and would’ve stayed miserable because she could tell he wasn’t there. It's not that easy to open up to someone no matter who that person was. He was going through so much with his mom's death and all and he was happy when his mom agreed to try chemo but once he found out that the meds weren't working, his depression was back. If you seriously think it's easy for him to be at a prom or a party that way or to open up to her then you clearly don't know what it feels like to lose someone you love and you've clearly never suffered from depression before. As someone who experienced all that, I'm telling you it's horrible. Belly should've been more understanding. So please stop judging Conrad when you don't understand what he's going through!!

People judge Conrad's character so easily and say Jeremiah is a better brother(no hate for him) but yeah I also stay away from people when I don't feel good and due to my father's condition lately from last year, I wasn't able to give time to my boyfriend but he still understood me and told me, again and again, to not be dry and talk to him. So a relationship is about having direct communication, patience and understanding each other

Last season I wanted Belly with Jeremiah and this season the first two episodes had me routing for Conrad but by the third episode I was back to routing for Belly and Jeremiah to get back together. The way Conrad acted at the funeral was heartbreaking and I honestly don't know what Belly sees in Conrad.

i dont think he planned to break up with her, I think he just needed space and was on the verge of a panic attack thats why he didnt understand what she was saying at first and asked her to not leave it like this and he was devastated when she gave back the necklace... I think a lot of times we assume something and she just saw his withdrawing as something about her when it was really he was just drowning... I feel for Belly too as I think when you dont love yourself you can easily interpret the people around you to not truly love you as well
I got the impression that Conrad didn’t want to break up. But I do understand both of them. Everything does reach a breaking point (no pun intended). I wished they talked before they ended entirely, like Conrad wanted to in the first place.
Yeah looking at this again , she overthought the situation and wasn’t considering him at all . His mom was dying as this was happening, how was he gonna enjoy himself . He asked could they go somewhere, just them , I don’t know why she didn’t say okay , he probably just wanted to be alone with her so that he could be sad In peace . He obviously was holding in his emotions and maybe he did want to break up with her , but she handled that so poorly , and that’s how it usually happens in real life how those situations go , he was her first love , first everything she wasn’t thinking with her head she was thinking with her heart , she was blinded by how she felt about him and not what he was feeling , but at that age I wouldn’t have been mature enough to understand the situation either I would’ve acted on my emotions .

why does she ask “did i do something” girl this isn’t about you!! his mom is about to die and you think it’s something you did? do they not talk about what’s going on in each others lives? i feel like she should know by now that he’s really stressed about his mom dying. susannah must die a couple weeks after this since it’s probably may, so i feel like it’s understandable that conrad doesn’t want to be at a dance where there’s a million people and loud music cause honestly that would send me over the edge too
No belly your the only who left it like that!!! Conrad didn’t even want to break up with her, he was just sad that his MOTHER was on one of her last days. Belly was the one who need thing then she went around and twisted the story up so it would look like he broke up with her. She even told Susannah that. And that really pissed me off because like I said, she broke up with him and she didn’t want to look like the bad guy, so she twisted up the story to make it seem like he broke up with her.
There’s many layers to him and those that bother to explore his character learn enough to understand him more. Many Jelly fans would purely judge Conrad based on his lowlights and trauma and completely forget when he’s loving, warm, and tender. It’s sad really.
To all those in young love or heart break...if a love is meant to be, let it go. If it comes back to you, it will be stronger and deeper than it was before, now that you know the feeling of its absence. Stay strong.

What I hate so much about the scene is that and someone has already hinted at this is the fact that with Conrad being so silent everyone pins this on him and makes him the bad guy. When he is just a teenager just like belly going through something pretty traumatic as losing a parent and having no control over it. It was clear that he didn’t want to go to prom, but he wanted to make the night special so he went. She knew that something was going on and Instead of talking with him, she assumed that he didn’t want to be with her anymore blew it out of proportion made it about her and broke up with him. And I remember remember when I first watched this thinking that team Jeremiah fans will absolutely love this when it has nothing to do with teams that has everything to do with the fact that both Conrad and Jeremiah were losing their mother in handling it especially Conrad and the best way that they knew how. We all know there is no right or wrong way to deal with someone you love dying..

Mental health is no joke, so what makes you think it's so easy to just let everything out and communicate? Conrad should not be getting hate for this. Dealing with mental health and anxiety is a lot. It's a whole lot, because you have so much emotion built up inside you that you don't even know where to begin, and sometimes you even say stuff you don't even mean, which Conrad has. He's one of the most realistic characters to show mental health realistically. It's also not easy at all to talk about how you feel and open up like y'all haters want him to. When you're dealing with mental health, talking about it and communicating is the hardest part. You guys don't understand because you've never been through it. And I don't want to see "I have dealt with it but-" but nothing. If you have been through it, there's no reason to say but. That boy is hurting so much and all y'all do is hate and hate, not trying to see through his pain. He had to let Belly go for a reason. When you're dealing with all this he's going through, you find it hard to be in a relationship. The same thing happened with Max and y'all were understanding, so idk why it's different with him. And he tried. He did try but it was all too much, just like Max and then both pushing people away. The difference is that Max opened up, but it took her time to! that's what I'm trying to tell you people about how hard it is at first to open up and communicate. It takes time. Imagine how many months it took her till she finally broke. If you don't understand mental health, then you don't get to have an opinion on the person who is going through it. Conrad obviously was on the verge of a panic attack. He didn't want to be there after losing his mother and Belly failed as a girlfriend (as per usual) to understand that. He wanted to go home and she just jumped to conclusions thinking he wanted to break up, instead of reassuring him and comforting him and tell him it’s all gonna be okay. But again, he gets hate for that too
Belly's getting on my last nerve! Who needs to know how to read a room when the smashing pumpkins song more than summed up the mood, heck the lyrics were the perfect dialogue.
I am the biggest fan of Conrad and I'm rooting for this man to win the battle at the end of the day!!! I understand where he's coming from due to his mental state but he simply needed to do the one thing he sucks at which is common with Belly instead of shutting her out like she said he does. He ruined Belly's prom like we can't pretend he didn't, even if we want to play this out in many ways he did, and ole boy could've put a little bit more fight for her urging this moment after she brought up the breakup. I'm just hoping they can fix things still but this scene will always be the scene that made me think "maybe Jeremiah is the better choice cause my girl can't keep going through this." and I stand by that point because if Conrad does something like this again ever imma have to truly stop rooting for him.

Conrad didn't want to break up with her but he was depressed and being at prom was the last place he wanted to be especially knowing his mom was approaching her last days. He could've communicated that to Belly however she didn't even give him a chance to do so. She was left to assume he didn't want to be with her anymore and that they were over. What a mess.
I think saying that "she didn't even give him the chance to do so" is a bit stretched when he's the one who left the first without wanting to say anything.

It's hard for Conrad to communicate when he doesn't want to ruin her night. He didn't wanna be unfair to her but he ended up doing it anyways. Also I'm not faulting her for anything so please do not misinterpret me. As I said, I understand them both and it's just miscommunication all around. Belly assumed he wanted to break up, she gave him back the necklace. She put words in his mouth. He told her to wait (he didn't want to let her go) and he drove off bc he knows she's better off without him when he's always disappointing her somehow. All Conrad wants is for Belly to be happy but in that moment he was a bit selfish and couldn't pretend he wanted to be there bc he's depressed about his mom.
Also just bc someone keeps pressuring and prodding you to communicate your feelings / thoughts doesn't mean you'll eventually open up especially when you know "if you make this choice something bad will happen and if you don't then something else will happen" (he literally said this at the beginning of the season) Conrad is confused / overthinks every little scenario to the point where he shuts down in hard moments... he probably has a dismissive avoidant personality while Belly is more open and honest. Conrad is more rational because he's older and Belly is confrontational bc she's younger and more naive. Belly does deserve a lot better and even Conrad knows that which is why he removes himself from the situation altogether. He doesn't want to be a half assed boyfriend and stick around when he knows he's incapable of giving her the absolute best. But you probably don't get it or even want to understand 🙄 Relationships and feelings are hard especially mixed in with everything else going on. At the end of the day they're both just teenagers going through the motions.
The point is I’m not faulting / putting down one character to uplift another. I literally love and can relate to both of them.
i loved how steven was stepping up as the big brother. first when he makes sure conrad asks belly to dance and then during the dance he was watching her the whole time to make sure shes okay. then after going to get her to check up and giving her that big hug we were all waiting for🥹🥹
You can tell that Conrad doesn't want to break up, he's just grieving his dying mother, and can't enjoy himself at a ball or an after party. He clearly just doesn't want to be so negative around Belly and ruin her night. Belly should have just given him some space.
Also idk if this is explained more in the books, i haven't read them.
EXACTLYYYYY, she just jumped to the conclusion real quick.. i cant begin to imagine what conrad would have been going through and that too for monthss, the sadness and helpless feeling and still trying to moving on with life (college etc) coz life doesn't stop... he must be going through 24/7 would be exhausting as well, i was so happy that he found genuine happiness with belly, but....
And belly was also really close to his mom all the more reason to be understanding towards him coz everyone is different and deals with things differently.. and the break up was on such bad and dramatic notes which was sadder for both and I think especially Conrad, talking things out in a more mature way would have been better if she really wanted to breakup with him.

Hm.... I agree but I think it’s a little more complex than that. I think Conrad had been pushing her away for a long time. They’re both really messed up and grieving, but I think in the relationship he wouldn’t open up or talk to her. It’s clear in the other scenes she felt really helpless. It’s a rough one but I kinda see where she was coming from, when your so can’t lean on you, you start to grow apart and insecurity enters real easy.

But I really don't think he wanted to break up, he just couldn't deal with the prom and the party at the time and wanted to leave. We also know he was super depressed about the breakup from his roommate

I get why Belly jumped the gun. Considering her age I can understand why she might act this way. What I hate is that the show pins this as Conrad's fault. The boy was dealing with so much here and I honestly don't think he was trying to break up. He was struggling and needed someone to reach out and be there for him but no one did. Conrad has already apologized to Belly for what happened at prom and the funeral. Now I just wish Belly realized that she isn't exactly the poor little victim she paints herself as. She is the one who broke up with him. She is the one who put words in his mouth and left him when he was down only to move on with his brother a month later. The show needs to acknowledge this. I'm tired of how they keep pinning the blame on Conrad when it's not entirely his fault. I hope Belly has a proper period of growth and takes at least some accountability for the hurt she caused others instead of just pointing out how others have hurt her.

It seemed like he needed comfort. I never once saw Belly comfort Conrad on his mom’s passing. Yea she was there for him and all, but even when they went on a getaway to Cousins Beach during the winter all Belly did was make it about her and what she wanted to happen. Never has she asked him how he felt or how’s he’s doing since his moms passing. How’s he’s coping. Is he doing alright. Etc.
The funeral scene imo lowkey exemplifies what the other ex had the capacity to do that BELLY COULDNT - which was to simply comfort him. Belly lowkey makes everything about herself, like I get she’s the protagonist but she’s so invested in her lifelong obsessive dream of her and Conrad that now that she has him she literally forgets him as a human and his human needs. We should see our significant others as the human they are not the dream/idea we’ve yearned for. No one wants to criticize Belly’s character for the mere fact that she’s the protagonist so we’re used to siding/co-signing all their shenanigans.
fr!! and she is always making a scene somehow. like in the very first episode of season one when her and steven fight and then everyone looks at her, and then the funeral, and then her and steven AGAIN at the party. like sometimes she should wait and learn that certain conversations or words should be said at certain times and places. i know she’s young and a lot of people use that to defend her, but most 16-17 year olds are more mature than her.

As much as I don’t like belly’s character, relationships are still a two-way street. “He just needed comfort” no, he didn’t. He needed a lot more than that, but even he doesn’t really know what he needs. Conrad has major communication issues and keeps deciding things for people on his own. He thinks it’s best to not burden belly with his struggles and try to be a normal bf for her. In the first season he didn’t tell Jeremiah about their mom’s condition bc he thought that was what’s best. He’s probably trying to be considerate, but it’s really not considerate. Not only does he hurt others by doing this, he hurts himself too and then he needs so much comfort and care

This episode made me tear up a bit because it was Belly who decided to end things not Conrad. They seem so perfect for each other. I’m really hoping they will get back together by the end of the season. They will find a way to reconnect their love for each other.

His behavior is repeatable. Belly had already seen him shut down on her after the almost kiss and the reason she broke up with Cam. She knows he’s going through the same thing where he’s shutting
her out again in this prom scene. It’s an emotional high/lowroller coaster she has to go through with him.

As the designated responsible sibling in my own family I relate to him more, and I feel like when he does screw up the motivation behind his actions is generally a misguided attempt to do the right thing by others but when Jeremiah has screwed up his motivation has been self serving. I mean if this was reality they'd both be terrible options and Cam Cameron would be the only logical choice. But what I want in actual reality is not what I want out of a soapy drama.

Basically long story short, her bf was clinically depressed but she didn’t know it so instead of telling her that he was going through an episode and that she was the only one best thing in his life that made her happy through it, she thought he didn’t wanna be with her. This is why communication is so important. But again they’re teens and ppl grieve differently

If you seriously think it's easy for him to be at a prom or a party that way or to open up to her then you clearly don't know what it feels like to lose someone you love and you've clearly never suffered from depression before. As someone who experienced all that, I'm telling you it's horrible. Belly should've been more understanding. So please stop judging Conrad when you don't understand what he's going through!!

People judge Conrad's character so easily and say Jeremiah is a better brother(no hate for him) but yeah I also stay away from people when I don't feel good and due to my father's condition lately from last year, I wasn't able to give time to my boyfriend but he still understood me and told me, again and again, to not be dry and talk to him. Last season I wanted Belly with Jeremiah and this season the first two episodes had me routing for Conrad but by the third episode I was back to routing for Belly and Jeremiah to get back together. The way Conrad acted at the funeral was heartbreaking and I honestly don't know what Belly sees in Conrad.

I got the impression that Conrad didn’t want to break up. But I do understand both of them. Everything does reach a breaking point (no pun intended). I wished they talked before they ended entirely, like Conrad wanted to in the first place.

Yeah looking at this again , she overthought the situation and wasn’t considering him at all . His mom was dying as this was happening, how was he gonna enjoy himself . He asked could they go somewhere, just them , I don’t know why she didn’t say okay , he probably just wanted to be alone with her so that he could be sad In peace . He obviously was holding in his emotions and maybe he did want to break up with her , but she handled that so poorly , and that’s how it usually happens in real life how those situations go , he was her first love , first everything she wasn’t thinking with her head she was thinking with her heart , she was blinded by how she felt about him and not what he was feeling , but at that age I wouldn’t have been mature enough to understand the situation either I would’ve acted on my emotions .

There’s many layers to him and those that bother to explore his character learn enough to understand him more. Many Jelly fans would purely judge Conrad based on his lowlights and trauma and completely forget when he’s loving, warm, and tender. It’s sad really.

What I hate so much about the scene is that and someone has already hinted at this is the fact that with Conrad being so silent everyone pins this on him and makes him the bad guy. When he is just a teenager just like belly going through something pretty traumatic as losing a parent and having no control over it. It was clear that he didn’t want to go to prom, but he wanted to make the night special so he went. She knew that something was going on and Instead of talking with him, she assumed that he didn’t want to be with her anymore blew it out of proportion made it about her and broke up with him. Mental health is no joke, so what makes you think it's so easy to just let everything out and communicate? Conrad should not be getting hate for this. Dealing with mental health and anxiety is a lot. It's a whole lot, because you have so much emotion built up inside you that you don't even know where to begin, and sometimes you even say stuff you don't even mean, which Conrad has. He's one of the most realistic characters to show mental health realistically. It's also not easy at all to talk about how you feel and open up like y'all haters want him to. When you're dealing with mental health, talking about it and communicating is the hardest part. You guys don't understand because you've never been through it. And I don't want to see "I have dealt with it but-" but nothing. If you have been through it, there's no reason to say but. That boy is hurting so much and all y'all do is hate and hate, not trying to see through his pain. He had to let Belly go for a reason. When you're dealing with all this he's going through, you find it hard to be in a relationship. The same thing happened with Max and y'all were understanding, so idk why it's different with him. And he tried. He did try but it was all too much, just like Max and then both pushing people away. The difference is that Max opened up, but it took her time to! that's what I'm trying to tell you people about how hard it is at first to open up and communicate. It takes time. Imagine how many months it took her till she finally broke. If you don't understand mental health, then you don't get to have an opinion on the person who is going through it. Conrad obviously was on the verge of a panic attack. He didn't want to be there after losing his mother and Belly failed as a girlfriend (as per usual) to understand that. He wanted to go home and she just jumped to conclusions thinking he wanted to break up, instead of reassuring him and comforting him and tell him it’s all gonna be okay. But again, he gets hate for that too

I am the biggest fan of Conrad and I'm rooting for this man to win the battle at the end of the day!!! I understand where he's coming from due to his mental state but he simply needed to do the one thing he sucks at which is common with Belly instead of shutting her out like she said he does. He ruined Belly's prom like we can't pretend he didn't, even if we want to play this out in many ways he did, and ole boy could've put a little bit more fight for her urging this moment after she brought up the breakup. I'm just hoping they can fix things still but this scene will always be the scene that made me think "maybe Jeremiah is the better choice cause my girl can't keep going through this." and I stand by that point because if Conrad does something like this again ever imma have to truly stop rooting for him.
While I think this whole situation is a mess, Conrad did try to talk. He was aware he was being very negative, and just needed someone to talk to.
