Flying to Exuma Bahamas in the Mooney - May 2024

This is the extended video of our flight from Fort Lauderdale Florida to Great Exuma Bahamas. Takeoff, climb out, crossing ADIZ, overflying Nassau, flying down the Exuma chain, landing at Exuma International on Great Exuma. I'm including all of the informative radio calls to give other pilots an idea for how to do this and what to expect.

Very cool...I have flown to Bimini and Freeport...after seeing your flight, Exzuma may be next.

We actually enjoyed Eleuthera a little better. Exuma really requires a boat to maximize the fun. We rented one twice and that’s not cheap. Eluthera is a very long and skinny island with a bunch of cool things to see and endless miles of beaches along with pink sand beaches at Harbor island. We flew in to North Eluthera Airport.

Oh yeah… we actually flew to Staniel Cay because I rented a boat there one day. Cost like $700 and when departing Exuma airport I was told that if I’m not back by 5pm they charge a massive overtime fee…even though it’s not past sundown. I forget how much. $200 I think. So we had to fly to Staniel…Get a gocart ride to the boat place…Ride up the chain doing what we could…wasted a bunch of time eating lunch, then had to rush back to the airport and back to Exuma airport. Live and learn. Live and learn and don’t sweat the money that you waste in your wake. lol.
