Awesome video! Sidenote: I heard my father say breakthrough tactics were used by the Mongolians, before they were used by the Nazis, and that after a breakthrough, instead of encircling, destroying, and advancing: sometimes they'd just leave the frontline troops behind, destroy the enemy's supply sources to starve out the frontline troops, capture their country, then come back & mess up the enemy frontline troops later
preety sure germany tried repeating that against the ussr but becux thess troops just didnt surrender they eventually became a problem as germany had to keep troops to keep them encircled
Blitzkrieg was a doctrine based on lightning warfare. How the Germans invaded France, Belgium and the Netherlands so quickly was based off of weak points and strong. He avoided engaging the Maginot Line with his main forces, and quickly invaded through Belgium to get around France's Maginot Line. Like one of Hitler's commanders said, "You hit someone with your fist, and not with your fingers spread."
Wow! Even though this video is only one minute, it contains so much information on strategies within the blitzkrieg attack! Thank you for this! You have helped me in writing my history essay!
If a troop surrenders, its best to make there flag white, a white waving flag is a sign of you accept defeat. (surrendering) and you do not want to fight. Anyways, you have teached me so much about the German Blitzkrieg tactic.
This actually helped me in hearts of iron 4, it’s very effective against the Soviet Union, especially at the start of the frontline where most soviet divisions are. Encircling them is a big advantage. When they are encircled, you know you won the war. They all are dead.
fun fact: Erwin Rommel, DID in fact overextend supply lines, and even went so far radios couldn't reach him so communications were cut as well. even in france, where he shined most, he was still an average general that made mistakes, just overblown by german propaganda.
Well, when u break the line and make a supply line there, what enemy artillery doing? The supply line units must be vulnerable for artillery fires or am i missing something?
See the Russo-Ukrainian War for a brilliant example of this. Except, it quickly turned into the slow, grinding, and brutal slugfest we call trench warfare.
So basically you have to put armoured units at the front so there is a armoured unit at the top and a another at the bottom so those armoured units makes a bump through the territory even at the south and the armoured units will make the encirclement But the remaining troops will protect the encriclement before the armoured units finish the encirclement after the encirclement is finished they will attack the territory that they encircle and until the troops there surrendered. So I'm I right?
well i mean it was also used by napoleon he literally invented blitzkreig before the father of the mustache man was even alive and blitzkreig is literally the heart of modern doctorines in the 1st and 2nd world countries (2nd world countries we're the soviet union and her allies and other soviet alinged states)

Also the tactic of being faster then the enemy was used by napoleon tho he also used to split up the enemy forces by that
preety sure germany tried repeating that against the ussr but becux thess troops just didnt surrender they eventually became a problem as germany had to keep troops to keep them encircled
