Victory clubs will spring up all across the country. Members will share experience/knowlege and services similar to what Vintage bike clubs do.

The V92 you had was a 2000. The Freedom engine design came out in 2002 so the 2002 V92 Freedom motor is stronger then Harley's 103.

Don't blip the throttle so much. These engines don't respond well to it. They need a few more revs than an HD or Indian. That way they stay in the "have fun catchin me" zone.

Forget about the V92? That's the only Victory I ever actually wanted. I didn't buy one way back then, because the magazines were having problems with it. But instead of fixing the problems, they abandoned it and came out with the Ness designed Vegas, and it's been downhill ever since. I loved the "bits and pieces" look of the V92, just like I did with older Harleys. I despise the "show bike" look. A motorcycle is a machine, and should look and sound like a machine.

My dream bike is a Victory Vision . I have a Hayabusa & a GSXR 1000 . I want to get a cruiser to do long distance riding and just don't want a HARLEY that a few friends are trying to talk me into . That Vision is my dream bike , hands down ...

I'm all about Indian scout. If Victory is so good, why'd they go out of business after only a fey years? Also where you gonna get parts?

Electronicdawg I’m just going by what I was told ... it seems like it’s dealing with market standing . polaris felt that Indian could hold the market better Victory because they’ve been around longer like Harley Davidson . But also , Indian has also went bankrupt and closed numerous times , unlike Victory .... Most of even the Indian dealers (I’ve talked to 3) that felt Polaris should’ve dropped Indian before Victory .... Victory was growing....

I have an 88 Honda Shadow vt800c. I dropped it on its left side for maybe 30 seconds till I could pick it back up. It was leaking a lot of gas during this time. Picked it back up but it now won't start. All the electrical work is fine. I have tried to start it several times but nothing fires. It turns over and there are puffs of air coming out the exhaust but it won't fire. It sounds the same as when it normally starts. I've hooked it up to my trickle charger and have tried to start it several times now. I know most carb bikes leak fuel when in their left side and that I likely flooded the motor. Im not sure how to fix that though. I've let it sit overnight and tried to start it again this morning but nothing happened other than what I've said. Also I thought it might just be out of gas but I refilled the tank and still nothing. Appreciate anyone's help or advice.

JackRight check your bank angle sensor.... Usually behind or by the seat. Search some forums too. Hope you get it back on the road.

JackRight. Does it have a safety switch on the left handle bar. If so make sure its has a good connection. The clutch side it should go up to the bottom of the clutch. There should also be one on the kickstand make sure its clean and all the way up. You can clean these switches with. Crc electric switch cleaner. Good luck. GOD BLESS

When they began doing the "custom" bikes I lost interest. Better than Harleys no doubt. A gear indicator? Vincent Black Shadow had a gear indicator way back when.

I find these days most bikes are pretty darn good. There are a bunch of Harleys that aren't too hot, but even their new ones are quite impressive. That new Fat Bob is a really good all around bike.
I find the biggest problem with other brands is fueling. A lot of times it can be quite abrupt. And there's probably a lot of stoplight bandits out there who like that. Ain't so great for carving up twisty roads though.
I rode a Vmax once and it also had a very abrupt off on throttle delivery. Aside from that, it was a nice enough bike, but it was actually too fast. It was nearly impossible to ride the thing anywhere near the speed limit. And wIth some of the bikes out now, that one would be considered a slug.
Sometimes shocks are too hard or too soft, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We aren't all the same weight nor ride the same way. If there's just too little of it and it's prone to bottoming out (HD), I do consider that a flaw.
If one can overlook the styling, Japanese cruisers are a fantastic value. They'll last forever and are super cheap to own and maintain, have nice standard ergos, and make nice power for riding around on public roads. I can't think of a reason to hate them. Great bikes to learn on and see if riding is for you. You can buy used and ride for a few years and darn near get your money back if you quit or find something else you'd rather ride. That won't ever happen with a new bike.
