Beautiful Adventure🌲 I’ve been to the fire tower a few times over the years…best information I’ve found states that it was in use up until 1990 and remains for emergency use. It’s also listed on the National Historic Lookout Register.
That's weird. You would never think in a place like that it would be inundated with mosquitoes and flies 😝. In the Forest roads in the mountains out west you need a chainsaw and out here it looks like you need a lawn mower. Haha. Have you ever dispersed camped in the Chequamegon national Forest in Wisconsin?
@@NigelNaughton no I haven’t…nowhere in Wisconsin yet! Yeah all the rain we’ve had for the past month has made everything grow like crazy. Some of that grass I drove through was as tall as my hood!? lol
Bummer you couldn’t find a spot. Can’t win ‘em all I guess. What was the name of the free campground you drove to? Also, what was the name of the pay campground on the other side of it.
@@larryhanson3856 thanks! I believe it was Mable Lake where the two campgrounds were! Pretty sure it was just Mable Lake campground. Both area were beautiful!
Most places I’d say yes you’d be fine. There is a difference between 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive so look it up beforehand…deeper mud puddles I’d avoid if I were you but most forest roads I’d say you’re fine to explore in that! I see a lot of Subaru all wheel drive cars out there that seem to do ok.
Awesome 👍 The Great North Beautiful 🌲🌲🌲

Do you NEED a high clearance vehicle for this area? Would my AWD Rav4 make it?
