I’m pretty sure Sean saw Internet Historians video and tweeted about it, he said it was great but to not watch the end.
Yeah seeing the last part I wouldn’t want others to see it either lol

He did, he was baited into seeing it/watch it. Witch is more kek.

Id argue that No Mans Sky is actually an incredible game now, not just decent. Also, youve got to have some respect that literally every update, every ship, every cosmetic, EVERYTHING was released for free. There are 0 in game purchases. You couldnt buy those things with real money if you wanted to. If you buy the game, you have the full thing. If you bought it on launch, you have everything
The fall of 76 would be a good one to follow this with, simply for the comparison of a small indie company biting off more than they could chew, but redeeming themselves, to a large company rushing a project, messing it up, and then trying hide the first mess by making more mess around it.
Finally! The fall of 76 is another good one.
Yes
I know Nikki is gonna be very shocked when she hears about some of the tomfuckery that happens in that video
I love that video. Fallout 76 was a total failure, at least in terms of how it was released. Fallout 4, also is full of bugs, for example in the vanilla game (without mods), in the Far Harbor dlc, a road linked to the main questline of the dlc automatically leads you to crash. The bug has never been fixed. The only way to fix the bug is to use the unofficial patch. It is not the job of those who play and create mods to fix some bugs. Unfortunately Bethesda never learns the lesson. When you release a game it should be at least 99.9% perfect. A bug that prevents you from finishing the game is not a playable game.
I always tear up when I get to the part where Sean and Hello Games get back to work fixing and improving the game
Me: Who is this random couple reacting to Internet Historian that youtube has recommended to me?
*Less than a minute into the video*
Him: "Deep Space 9 has a special place in my heart"
Her: "Same"
Me: Subscribed
Its the best
It's a shame you guys didn't start with "Fall of 76" before this, but if you're planning to get to it eventually, now would be the best time, because these 2 videos work really well together to compare with each other, while it's still fresh in your mind :)
The Greatest Redemption Arc in anime history.
SInce this video NMS had like 5-6 new updates with new content added, and a few days ago Sean Murray tweeted that they are about to release a new update.
They release new stuff every 4-5 months, and people are thoroughly enjoying the game now.
i think it's up to 13 new updates since the video came out now. 10-13, something like that.
I wonder: have they been living off the money from the early sales or is it still bringing in a notable amount of money to this day?
Sean's literally the main character in a movie.
Act 1: upcoming inspired dev working on a big game
Act 2: game sells but doesn't payoff,Sean's reputation is ruined and is also at his lowest point
Act 3: gets back up and goes back to the game, fixes it and redeems himself.
I started playing No Man's Sky only about... 8 - 9 months ago. Honestly, it is some of the most fun I've had in years
I get that people were upset but the fact that Sean and his team got death threats pissed me off. Its never that serious
Apparently it’s always that serious cause it always happens
But it's $60 bro. To gamers, that's equivalent to death
@@joekerr5418 Thats money that could of went to their discord kittens
There's been many more free updates since this IH video. No Man's Sky is definitively a love project by its developers. Those millions they made paid the bills for them to continue working on the game for free, even increasing their spendings by hiring additional staff to do so.
Many of the things that were "promised" where actually made-up rumors Hello Games never actually promised, things they "sort-of" mentioned but was perceived by hyped fans as much bigger than what Hello Games really ever had in mind, or things they sincerely expected to put in the game and didn't get to do so on time for the original release (and have added since, down to the giant sand worms!),
(knowing how this video ends) Me: ohhhhh boy, oh boy....I can't fucking wait till the fan-fiction part XD
I play No Man’s Sky daily nowadays. It’s so fucking good now. It legitimately takes my breath away sometimes with the immersion and the SIZE of everything. Even the procedural aspect of it and the way everything seems samey to an extent actually has a sense of actual lore to it. There is a surprisingly cool, trippy arg type thing to it.
Every single last update to No Man's Sky has been completely free. You got to respect the integrity of people who do the right thing even when everyone hates them.
Hello Games is actually one of the few game developers that I have any shred of respect for.
No man sky, the constant updated game, and I love it
They actually did another update just 2 months after IH's video. In fact, they just had an update some time ago.
oh damn an hour of chad being thicker than the asylum demon and internet historian? is it my birthday?
(but seriously tho this video gave me an incredible newfound respect for sean Murray when i first saw the video when it came out internet historian always does an amazing job but the way he split the story into perspectives really helped me change my views on the studio inner workings)
What an absolute chad. Also, dog
Yeah, my only real complaint towards Sean is insisting that they used a random part of the game instead of a scripted area when they, in fact, used a scripted area.
Since the Internet Historian video we've had quite a few updates. Plus more coming this year. As for the full list since that video came out, well:
2.30: "Living Ship"
2.40: "Exo Mech"
2.50: "Crossplay"
2.60: "Desolation"
3.00: "Origins"
3.05: "Halloween Update"
3.10: "Next Generation" (PS5, XSX)
3.20: "Companions"
3.30: "Expeditions"
3.40: "Beachhead Expedition"
The amount of dedication is honestly insane. There's something new one there usually every two months, sometimes quicker. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.
46:04 perfectly synced wtf, Niki is internet historian confirmed
I love how the pup makes an occasional appearance throughout the vid.
Every... [Redacted].. Procedural...
Her mouth was synced in with Internet Historians voice 45:05
NMS is a very good game these days. I'm more of an Elite Dangerous guy, but that's nothing against NMS. In fact, they're still updating the game. There was just yet another massive content update a couple days ago.
@@That_Doctor_Del_Fella Agreed. And NMS hasn't charged an extra dime for any of its upgrades. Something Bethesda will never be able to say. 🤦♂️
Consider that Frontier has abandoned the console base. NMS just moved up several notches above ED.
thanks for making the vid and sitting through all of it man.
this reaction was interesting to watch.
IH's video is what made me buy the game. And in the 16 months since then they've had even more big updates, with no sign of them slowing down any time soon!
Just imagine this company literally took the bullet insanely hard yet decided to bite their teeth and keeps push on to make the game good as what they said many years ago. I just wish AAA Games decided to follow this.
I kinda want to play no man sky now 😵
As someone who pre-ordered it, yeah, the lesson being never preorder but I'm still happy at least it was Hello Games. What happened, yeah it can't be that oh well...everyone will forgive u cuz sony was putting pressure n we put way too much hype in it and if it got a little more work and time, maybe like what cyberpunk did but still failed at, they would've been successful. I still love the studio though for doing this and I'm eternally grateful to them for not being like literally any other company. Maybe Hello games and Valve games are the only ones I trust now, except few more indie producers.
We did it, boys and girls!
And now they've been working on another PROJECT for the last 5 years called Light No Fire.
I think Mr. Sean Murray just completely underestimated the obsession Humans are capable of.
1:00 "no space, and no desert, i dont know why, but the just both feel like theres nothing there" wowe, you wouldnt like the homeworld franchise then
Been waiting for this reaction!!
No Mans Sky is amazing now days.
Top game with many many free updates. So much content and now a new community mode kinda like a seasonal thing.
Yall never reacted to this before!? Goddamn mandela effect
Been waiting for this one!
I have a reaction request: The Complete History of the Soviet Union Arranged to the Melody of Tetris. It is a phenomenal video and would make for a great reaction.
And they are still going. I believe they've released two updates since then, a big one just recently. 6 years after it come out and they are still going strong. A lot of companies could learn from them
this game is effing LEGENDARY now.
No man's sky is actually a pretty decent game now, they added custom vehicles, base building, and multiplayer with your friends.
Yeah considering they watched this video I think they know that...
Yeah that’s... kind of what the video is talking about
how do you forget the pet update that is pretty much pokemon in nms
And why the hell do you feel the need to say this when they literally watched the video?
Whaaaat? This guy was on BLACK and Burnout 3?? Those were 2 of my favorite games, ever, at the time. Right behind Def Jam Vendetta: Fight for New York.
Fight 4 NY is such an amazing game, the hours I have put in that shit.
Sean showed us not every man is born a Giga Chad but every man can evolve into a Mad Lad.
It's kind of funny, my Dad worked at Criterion and EA (he still works there today at Respawn now), and he is the man who actually hired Sean Murphy and worked on Black with him lol. I don't know if they've talked for a while, but I've been to the Hello Games office before and it's pretty cool.
Liked for the precious hamb baby that appears at 48:20 🤣
So cute. 😩
I know right. And at 34:00 lol so cute
Your pibble is so pretty. Made me miss mine while watching your video at work
YES
Now while that one guy completed the game in 30 hours that's not counting going to every planet. That's going from one planet and immediately following the story and going to the next and the next not really exploring or anything.
This is one of my favourite videos of all time
Yes I've been waiting for this one
Respect++ for these guys.
I can't emphasize enough what a good game NMS is now... this might be my favorite redemption arc of all time.
Personally with the Media thing was just everyone wanting a piece of a guy that was not comfortable talking on stage was a bit much, and yea the fan hype was definitely out of control refusing to listen to things like hello games being a new and small company. I remember asking how big the team was and like it was 10 people but some people assumed they hired hundreds of contract workers or that the team was just that good and seem like some hype was just completely out of left field and making excuses to be hyped instead of being prepared to be disappointed.
*Please react to "An Actual Review of No Man's Sky" by Shammy. He does game reviews that are in a similar comedic style as Internet Historian.*
That GDC speech from Sean is a really good watch
pls react to "ssethtzeentach space station 13 review"
Aaaaand a new update was coming out xD
The desert can be very Cold at night and very hot during the day
This is the greatest redemption arc in gaming history
This is proof that selling a game by the copy, works just fine and the whole monthly subscription money grab is not necessary. It is greedy and ends up with sloppy development. These guys keep selling more and more copies as they fix and add more and more to the game. So, it's not just being able to right the wrongs, it is an investment to keep updating the game and make it better because every new 'flash in the pan' they sell thousands of copies again. Millions of dollars roll in, they pay salaries and make huge profits, and then keep going. I hope the whole concept spreads!
Sadly a lot of big companies are still trying to go with greedy part, with microtranstiction, RNG system even getting into NFT and crypto
@@yololoyo7379 I know, it sucks. Even some of the MMORPGs which I understand a basic monthly fee for - to cover the insane number of real-time servers, etc. - even most of them are moving to microtransactions, stores, and even looking at NFT if they haven't already started.
Hello Games are very much still updating no man's sky. i think they had something like 6 decently sized updates last year alone
The train station that the hype train crashes is my city's (Leeds UK) train station. That was weird to notice....
Now if only crystal dynamics Marvels Avengers can do the same thing
"No space, there's nothing there..."
Um, literally everything that physically exists is there. Just... for clarification... 🙄
Honestly I place a LOT of the blame on Sony. If you're going to pick up such a TINY development team / game company - especially one that consisted of just SIX PEOPLE - you HAD to have quickly realised (if you had done your due diligence and homework properly) that NONE of them knew a thing about PR, and worse their "main guy" was a massive introvert who didn't deal well with any kind of public exposure. So it's on YOUR shoulders to PROVIDE them with that PR department! It's not like Sony has a lack of PR teams to choose from, they've absorbed enough gaming companies / dev teams over the years to have PLENTY to pick from with literal decades of experience on hand. If you're going to make an investment - and you're the MAIN investor? You PROTECT that investment at all costs (which includes protecting your developers from the media and the claws of the internet). That means providing them with tools and people they don't currently have access to, and absorbing the cost of doing so. If you protect them well enough, you'll get that cost back and then some when the investment finally matures and pays out. Sony could have done a HUGE amount to shield Hello Games from the public relations disaster that happened, and yet they did absolutely NOTHING and watched the trainwreck silently from the safety of their glass and metal castles.
they still update the game and even got me into it, after months when internet historians video came out, even though i am really not interested in Space games at all! And its pretty much woth the money and time!
I don't still play the game, but apparently, they are still releasing new updates and expansions to this day. I think I saw someone say that they added a new update just last month
They should make a movie about the Hello Games team lol.
@59:12 yes *they're still doing updates*
FINALLLY!
yesssssss
its interesting how Microsoft gave up and rename to OneDrive while No Man's Sky call it stupid and keep the name
RAID SHITY LEGENDS
Oh come on, you gotta watch The Fall of 76 first then this one. It's more... *immersive* that way. XD
Regardless, good reactions, guys. Yeah. This is a story of redemption.
Hey Chad, just letting you know the discord link in the description is broken, I tried to join but it says the link is invalid. Also great reaction, was hoping you'd do this one.

I still don't understand why ppl where hyped about Minecraft in space aka Terraria
Bro. Stream, "Breathedge".
We really need to stop normalizing day one patches.
Make NMS great again
U look similar
I was pretty vocal about my dislike for Sean after the game released. Sent some tweets I regret sending. He and the team really did make up for the launch, I'd say.
:)
why say at the begining that it was horrible game at first but now its actually good game? why you spoil the video expecially if she has no idea what it is about...
This didn't age well, they delivered on a lot of the promises
This is the worst game ever released......... 2077 challenge accepted!
