This has got to be one of the coolest things ever. Tim reunited with his old boss from his grasshopper days interviewing him about a sequel to a game he worked on, with the man who's been voicing the main character since the beginning. Its like a bunch of friends getting together after they haven't seen each other for a long time. The way they just have fun talking with each other reminiscing about the past is great. This is legitimately a great video. Also shout out to the translator for doing a banger job!
You know.. for a JAPANESE out of all people to get touchy and affectionate with anyone else is insanely rare. These guys are known for minimal physical contact.. just silly ass bows. So to see suda touch tim so many times is crazy in itself
This was a joy to watch. The occasional glimpses of his superior Nihongo skills, his rapport with Suda, being his ex-boss, his toilet talk, his manic editing skills, and being impersonated by Travis' voice actor. One of the most entertaining interviews ive seen for a while, and ive never even played a No More Heroes game! I just watched it cos it's Tim!
When they asked Robin his favorite Travis line, I immediately though of the funerals line which is my favorite, so it's really funny that he brings it up right after that.
I think what I like about Tim's interviews is that he defuses the awkward tension inherent in press junkets with his own absurd energy, which puts me at ease.
Not gonna lie, I ascended to space when the "Moeee" line got brought up. When I saw that for the first time in game I thought "this character is awful. I love him."
It's cool to see Tim's life come full circle (think that's the saying). He went from working on No more heroes for Suda to interviewing him about a new entry in the series
I liked this a lot, the hang out chill vibe was really cool, it wasn't just an interview discussing the development it was old friends hanging out and shooting the shit. The wall in the back is also very satisfying to look at. Also the Japanese version of Tim's Dark Knight Video Voice voice was as cool as it usually is en englais.
Tim, if you read this: Had a good CHUCKLE at this and was fascinated by your writing accompanying this video on Kotaku. Suda is a huge inspiration for me and one of my favorite creators in the industry (world? WORLD). Like, I watch a ton of Suda material and interviews, but to see him riff on someone he knows and worked with was like a whole new dimension of the man haha. Any time you feel like rambling about stories working under Suda please know, there's at least an audience of one...
I remember the first thing I ever saw about No More Heroes was a tiny rectangle in Electronic Gaming Monthly. The caption said something like "We can't wait for this game", and I was like "Neither can I...." The game did not disappoint. I am so happy to see Suda 51 and Tim Rogers come together like this. It is too awesome to even exist, but it does.
Tim makes a new video, then breaks the mold. No two are the same, but at the end, there are always those comforting words: I was born stupid, but I will not die hungry.
MR. TIM ROGERS, as a follow up to my comment made on your June 12th 2019 video "We Stared Into Gooigi's Cold, Murderous Eyes | E3 2019", I would like to thank you for giving us the inside scoop on No More Heroes III! This was something you were most assuredly going to do anyway, but is appreciated all the same. I must say, the positioning of this video was as a painting from the Renaissance, with you befitted in a bishop's mitre and Suda, Robin, and the translator crowned with heavenly halos conferring upon you with wisdom of the ages. Continue the good work. Take a dump.
This is probably the first time where I feel fans have really had an impact on a new game. How many times has there been a "if the fans want it we'll make it" claim where fans have expressed they wanted a game and it never happened? Suda actually listened. I feel even better since I bought TSA. Damn I cant wait for this
This was a lot of fun to watch! Great dynamic between these three dudes, here. Have you met Jared Hedges, Tim? I think he did the English dialogue adaptation on NMH2, plus some other games and anime back in the day. He would be responsible for the phrasing of the “Some people fuck at funerals...” line. He definitely has a great ear for dialogue and localization, would probably be a blast to interview.
Kotaku, love thees videos man! Don't think about water at all during this interview. Lol You inspired me to start my own channel bro, your work on this channel is awesome.
1:35 “Seriously is that the only joke you’ve got?” It’s like - alright - Mr Journalist, you’ve been granted an exclusive interview with Miyamoto… .okay, go! “Hey … Mario must be, like, high all the time eating those mushrooms am I rite?”
Suda51 thank you for creating no more heroes I fucking love it also the voice of Travis Touchdown in English Tim. Let’s see what’s going to happen to Travis Touchdown hopefully he can be in smash!
It would be so flippin amazing if Suda 51 found a way to put Tim Roger's Daddy's Bingo voice into one of his games. That would be hilarious. Viva Daddy's Bingo and the Goblin Bunker. Amen.
Good luck, keep it going, nothing like to fight against fear of big things, trying to take down our little child, dont forget collectibles, and see u never
Hey, Tim. After watching this video, I came across an interview you did in 2015 in which you talked about the Grasshopper games you worked on and your experience of working there. It was a bit jarring to hear. Have your feelings about those things changed? In your DMC5 video, you seemed to look back on that time much more fondly.
I mean if you're going to be roasted about your love life by someone, it may as well be by Suda51
I see Tim, I click Tim. Him getting red-hot burned by his former boss was just icing on the delicious cake.
This is the best Suda 51 interview I've ever seen

Tim is the translator, obviously
@@shashix6551 he means the live translator
And they also got to talk about TAKING A DUMP.
No More Interviews please.
Which means I would like a sequel to this interview.
I see what you did there....
And i like it
"We Broke Up" was very painful depending on which GF Suda 51 was talking about.
Do NOT let Robin utter the phrase "Welcome back... to daddy's bingo." He is already too powerful
This made me laugh
Bingo level confirmed for NMH3
To answer Goichi Suda’s question at the beginning of the video. Yes. That joke is EXACTLY what the Kotaku audience wants. Tim is awesome.
Drink every time Suda51 caresses Tim's shoulder
lmao
You know.. for a JAPANESE out of all people to get touchy and affectionate with anyone else is insanely rare.

So to see suda touch tim so many times is crazy in itself
@@heyjeySigma Suda is a nice bro
@@heyjeySigma Sorry i'm commenting two years late, so what you're saying is that they were roommates? ;)
Goichi is the perfect anti-Tim. A true nemesis one should say.
I never thought I’d see a man out-Tim Tim, yet here we are

When Suda51 isn't busy making games or finding great video game bargains, he treats his employees well.
When they asked Robin his favorite Travis line, I immediately though of the funerals line which is my favorite, so it's really funny that he brings it up right after that.
"Everybody deals with grief differently, right? Some people fuck at funerals... I cut off heads"
I think what I like about Tim's interviews is that he defuses the awkward tension inherent in press junkets with his own absurd energy, which puts me at ease.
THE BEST CONTENT IN VIDEO GAMES IS BACK WITH HIS BOSS HOLY SMOKES
This was a stupidly-funnyass-insightful interview.
I need more Suda and that interviewer
HOW DOES THIS GUY HAVE SUCH CHEMISTRY WITH EVERYONE
This was amazing. The slo-mo voice gets me every time 😭
Also, Robin Atkin Downes is too smooth. His performance as Kaz in MGS V was legendary.
E3 is just three straight days of Japanese video game developers ripping TR to pieces.
Not gonna lie, I ascended to space when the "Moeee" line got brought up. When I saw that for the first time in game I thought "this character is awful. I love him."
Top notch quality content. What a bunch of honestly cool-ass dudes. You keep killing it Rogers ya hear

Tim awkwardly attempting to point the mic at whoever is talking.
I seriously wonder how many of these subtitles are completely fabricated lol.
@@SamuelSamuelSamuel Nah, the subtitles are actually very accurate
I just stopped what I was doing the moment I saw Tim in the thumbnail, let's watch!
I love this, I could watch these guys talk for hours. Huge suda fan, huge Tim fan, huge robin fan.
Tim, I'm loving the continued use of the glass breaking sound effect. Every instance of its use has had me yell out laughing.
I'm hoping this is sarcasm.
Good gravy the editing and subtitles are hilarious in this one
Ahhhhh he totally instinctively grabbed your coffee so you wouldn't spill it during the hug!
I cannot describe how much I love this guy and this video
Damn, my dude Tim with his Doctor Octopus ass hair getting dunked on for 25 minutes.

i laughed SO HARD at Suda big-brother-bullying Tim at the start that my neighbours are definitely upset with me!
This is one of the best interviews I've ever watched!
KOTAKU, DAIJOUBU?
I laughed hysterically loud at Suda grabbing the coffee from Tim at the very end.
I... love this interview, it cured my depression

"2020. Travis at the Tokyo Olympics" is a sentence that hurts, in retrospect
This is just so fucking good. You've gone and done it, It's perfect content.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Tim Rogers is a National Treasure.
If you've never heard Tim laugh before 1:33
my favourite Travis line is "too much rice and meat and not enough greeens"
the guy on the left looks like he could be Tim's brother
No.
I feel blessed to witness this content
Best interview ever!
I love Suda's face during the Michael Caine impression.
Im trying to count how many times Suda51 pats Tim on the shoulders
Greatest video I've ever seen! 👍😂😂 I'm going to go take a dump now
If I could precipitate this video into an edible form it would be the most satisfying meal I've had all day. Great job!
Would be interesting to hear RAD's recorded lines for Harman Smith since they didn't end up getting used in Killer7.
What kind of best thing ever is this?
I had high expectations for this video. Maybe too high. Turns out, they weren't near high enough. This ruled.
This is what we all have been waiting for 7:30
