God man you just saved me. You are my hero. I can't even describe how you helped me. I have been looking for this cartoon for about 10 years and everything was in vain. I finally found it. just by chance lol. I have never so freed myself from the shackles of eternal sadness and despondency. I never felt that I was happy before. I don't exaggerate. This cartoon is really unique and criminally underrated. Yet dark and mature for the kids show. This show is the most dear to my heart that there is. It was such a painful and long parting. Now I will continue to hold it in my heart forever.
Billiam confirming he'll cover the other shows and movies was the news that I needed today tbh. Ben 10 was my favourite show when I was younger and I was so happy to revisit it here!
Honestly, ben's character always seems to be fundamentally mishandled. lots of shows regress into thinking ben is supposed to be cocky, that we like him best when he's arrogant. in reality, the viewers like him best when he's growing as a person.
Or at the very least don't give him amnesia between episodes. Like, okay if you want him to be a prick right up to the very end, then *let* him be a prick constantly. Don't revert him back into pricks after he grew up in the last episode.
It’s not really the fault of the writers, Cartoon Network made them make Ben more like what they perceived his 10-year-old self was like. It backfired then 3 times in a row.
Nah, I like him when he is being a dumb fuck, eating chili fries, drinking smoothies and thinking he is the greatest hero in the universe. It doesn't stop him from being a hero, he is just being a kid overwhelmed with crazy magic watch.
[ultimate spoilers I guess] I love how the concept of the Omnitrix itself matured with its audience, we were introduced as it being only a weapon of universal destruction but by the end of the series it’s retconned to be a device with the purpose of preserving (and to an extent restoring) life, there are a lot of flaws in the series execution but storytelling, lore and worldbuilding are indeed some of its greatest strengths
@@JazzStation95 He actually sound so different to me with his upbeat voice. I did not even realize it was sasuke until Ben yelled in one episode lol. "I know that yell"
I heard that they wanted to make Ben and Gwen just friends for the series just in case they decided to build up an eventual love interest for Ben but they scrapped that idea because they couldn´t come up with a good enough reason as to why an unrelated friend from school would travel in a family trip with Ben and grandpa Max. Specially after considering that they were supposed to not get along well.
You could just say they've known each other since grade sc- Wait, Ben is literally 10. Lemme rephrase. They've known each other since like kindergarten, but as they get into pre-teen years, they think their friendship was just a shallow immature thing so they grow apart as friends, but by then the parents (or I guess Grandpa) already know each other from the kids having hung out all the time and they can see that growing distance, so Grandpa elects to see if that roadtrip can mend that friendship while Ben's friend's parents make up some BS excuse to ship the kid off on the trip. I'm just spitballing ideas here, but there are ways to make that work. Hell, Hey Arnold never needed a real reason why those equally young kids just wandered an entire city with zero problem all the time and it was ironically one of the most grounded cartoons ever made.
Honestly I like them being cousins better like idk I think having them as just friends and growing into lovers is overdone and I’d much rather see the growth of a familial relationship rather than a love one. Their relationship reminded me of the one I have with my own siblings/cousins, which makes it feel more genuine and relatable.
In Ben 10 Ultimate Alien it actually does explain why Ben acts so arrogant when he was younger, It's because he scared of having so much pressure on him so he treats the situation like a joke. And I do think that makes sense considering the fact that he's 10 years old.
@@BeholdTheToonGuy Thats not great writing in his character here. i think he gets again less shitty after that. And kevin becomes the anti villain. As the original, he is a kid, i would give him flag there, it makes himm more human really. And entertaining. An having character developement.

Ben 10 came out at the perfect time for me too, as I was around 11 in 2005, the transformations and stories were pretty cool, coming from the late Dwayne McDuffie, a seasoned comic book and TV writer responsible for several episodes of the Justice League animated series and the original Teen Titans and having co-created Static Shock. I mean, my online monicker is even a tribute to Ben 10 itself, I've been carrying the name for years name.
It always irked me how the Forever knights were called the organization for some reason lol, it would be like if Disney changed their name to “the corporation” or “the company”
It's amazing that they took that show and turned it into all the world building in the sequel shows. The Ben 10 universe is expansive and amazing just in terms of the universe that was built around this simple premise. I genuinely love the shows and remember them all fondly. I gladly rewatch them randomly.
Yeah two alien chicks when most guys don't even get one human chick. (If you don't remember Ben and Gwen's grandmom is a purple ailen with pink light hair.)
I like how there is a “What-If” ending to the original Ben 10. I get the feeling it was planned to be an ending, kinda alluded to in the Ben 10,000 episode in regards to Vilgax. Also I wouldn’t mind seeing a Gwen 10 series tbh if it was more based on the original series then the reboot.
I’m 90% certain that wasn’t Intended to be a white if until alien force that episode ends with Ben’s parents finding out about the Omni tricks but an alien force their none the wiser at least until halfway through the season. If it wasn’t for the parents not knowing about the Omni tricks in alien force this episode would fit perfectly within canon, as for Mel galaxies survived much worse like at the beginning of the series.
also i love how the reason omnitrix was invented was to make peace between all the alien races in the universe. it was supposed to help different aliens understand and empathize with each other by turning into one another and experience things from their perspective
Honestly, Ben 10 is one of those shows I can watch now even as a young adult. Even as a kids show, it is surprisingly mature at some points. Kevin Levin's first episode, Season 1 finale, and the Ghostfreak episode stand out to me the most and it's so nice to see how much Alien Force grows from this beginning.
Some things never change. We caught my friend watching Ben 10 porn well over a decade ago. I've never forgotten that...the fact that we caught him, not the porn.
As someone who loved ben 10 as a kid and currently rewatching it,it stands up very well. Great action, captivating art style and textbook work building. Honestly as a action cartoon it does way more then it needs too.
When I was older watching this show I started to appreciate that the watch knew better then Ben until he was older and knew certain aliens would work better in situations and that’s pretty cool
The aliens on this show were really well designed. Stinkfly, Greymatter, and Wildmutt were my personal favorites, and no one else seemed to love em as much as I did. I was bit older when the show came out but it had that anime action that I was a fan of. So it managed to capture my attention despite not being in the target demographic. I remember geeking out about the newer aliens as they came out with my younger cousins. I think that's why I loved it, it allowed me to bond with them.
I'm glad this series is getting more attention it deserves it honestly. Back in 2019 is when I was introduced to the series by my boyfriend and before that I was pretty meh about the show and didn't think much about it before. However threw a contest of creating your own alien design for a fan webcomic series called 5 years later, it helped me to slowly get into the series. With that first 2 episodes I was hooked on it, and the days where me me and BF Alex would binge threw the whole series all the way up to Ben 10 omniverse. We had many happy memories watching it together and many dumb inside jokes we would make as well. It was a cartoon that I needed back then something to escape to when life got a bit too much at times.

I feel like that kinda goes without saying after a while. Like yeah it's annoying to Ben but we know they wanna do something else with a form we didn't think about and it turns out that was the better solution. Basically saying the Omnitrix is sentient enough to know exactly what he needs at the time and the silhouette is more a facade of choice or to just show WHAT he can turn into if it so chooses.

I actually loved ben & gwen's relationship in the original show. it was a lot like my brother and I. We were always at eachother's throath but we also had our moments
Exactly. They're the main characters so their personalities and dynamic carry the entire show. It's why the OG series failed to get me engaged, but the reboot did.

20:22 there was an episode in Omniverse where Max points this out and kinda snaps at Ben. Like you mentioned, Grandpa Max is usually pretty chill and patient. He gets pushed to his limit sometimes but mostly stays calm. But in the Omniverse episode he’s finally like “after ALL these years you STILL can’t grow up and learn” and so on.
Glad to see someone appreciating how much of a goddamn angel Grandpa Max is!! Even as a kid i always got annoyed at all the jokes of ben and gwen thinking he was lame when he's clearly the best character in the show!!!

I'm glad he's covering what he's not seen yet.
@@bobismad1362 in case it wasnt clear, this was because og ben 10 had the best ratings and they just assumed that it was because ben was a dick

I love how the concept of the Omnitrix itself matured with its audience, we were introduced as it being only a weapon of universal destruction but by the end of the series it’s retconned to be a device with the purpose of preserving (and to an extent restoring) life, there are a lot of flaws in the series execution but storytelling, lore and worldbuilding are indeed some of its greatest strengths
Hmmm maybe lore, but storytelling and worldbuilding are debatable

I heard that they wanted to make Ben and Gwen just friends for the series just in case they decided to build up an eventual love interest for Ben but they scrapped that idea because they couldn´t come up with a good enough reason as to why an unrelated friend from school would travel in a family trip with Ben and grandpa Max. Specially after considering that they were supposed to not get along well.
It would seem a bit weird at times
*Giboit*. People even like to "ship" them, you know, despite them being cousins😒
You could just say they've known each other since grade sc-
Wait, Ben is literally 10.
@@mwizachihana9551 Why not? its free real estate.
In Ben 10 Ultimate Alien it actually does explain why Ben acts so arrogant when he was younger, It's because he scared of having so much pressure on him so he treats the situation like a joke. And I do think that makes sense considering the fact that he's 10 years old.
Was 10.
An in-universe explanation doesn't negate the fact that it's frustrating for a viewer when plot-points are recycled

Ben witnesses something falling from space. IT’S AN INCREDIBLY MARKETABLE TOY. Ben can turn into 10 action fig- I mean monsters with it.
also i love how the reason omnitrix was invented was to make peace between all the alien races in the universe. it was supposed to help different aliens understand and empathize with each other by turning into one another and experience things from their perspective

The aliens on this show were really well designed. Stinkfly, Greymatter, and Wildmutt were my personal favorites, and no one else seemed to love em as much as I did.
