I hate how influencers made thrift shops trendy. Now you got people making 6 figures a month going to them to buy used clothes that look worn and now the prices of all the clothes in them skyrocketed.
i agree, i'm glad i don't live in america because it became such a huge trend there but luckily where i live it wasn't too bad. still super annoying because now people who can afford clothes from regular stores taking all the crap that people with less money actually need. so agitating.
yes and resellers are worse. They litterally buy clothes cheep made for people in need thanks to generous people donations and make PROFIT OUT OF IT like how evil can you be to do that. Just work like everyone, it's no better than stealing honestly.
Wouldn’t it just be tossed in the trash instead if not bought? We should be encouraging buying clothes second hand and repurposing them or even making them into something new. There’s a shit ton of clothing waste I think it’s okay if more people buy used clothes it’s not really going anywhere
@@sircheffington6657 No. Cheap clothes people donated had no problems being sold because they were cheap and poor people went there to buy clothes. Then as said, influencers showed up and started making thrift videos. Which essentially caused all of their followers to start doing the same. Problem is they're middle-upper class. Tldr: Rich people invaded a shop that sold to the poor. Causing more to show up. Thus increasing the price making it harder for poor people to afford.
@@nukiesduke6868 there are millions of clothes being tossed from various thrift stores that end up in landfills. Though some clothes that don’t get solf do get sent to clothing recyclers, not nearly enough thrift stores out there do that. You can’t tell me there’s not any clothing waste from unsold clothes in thrift stores cause it’s just flat out wrong. I get the reselling argument, but you can’t be mad at people buying second hand clothes that will most likely end up in a landfill otherwise.
I also have the struggle of wanting a job that doesn't require much work. It's a real issue and ever since my mom took away my private island, I'm going to have to start making money to get it back. You can get through anything guys

One time I worked with this one girl who's parents paid for their schooling and gave them spending money. I asked them why they were working there, and they said because otherwise she'd be bored and wanted stuff to do. I didn't say it, but I wanted to explain to her that around 90% of the current staff had 2nd jobs because the store purposely kept everyone at part time by only assigning 4 hour shifts, and that she took a spot of someone who actually needs to work to survive.
