Tengu- the 2200 in this game appears to be very much a Gap specialist. Meaning that he will be very polished on this map. On other maps less so. Loving this map and playing it over and over and over and over again is fine. FAF is great in that it caters for players with a variety of different gameplay desires.

This IS already a version with more paths into base, in fact there are so many now that you can hardly consider it a "gap" anymore. There used to be the sole entry in the middle and a teeny tiny path through the mountains that you could traverse only in single file and experimentals couldn't pass at all.
I think what was meant with the skill level is the skill inflation. The system adapts as money. Sooner or later someone with same skill today having 1400 will be 1800 in 5y. Thats why you'll somewhen see 3k players (I think they already exist if I am not wrong) AND the skill level can be manipulative. Afaik the 3k player I remember is not that good compared to other top players like TURBO2 who can play literally any map and raipe you ;)
In my experience it goes the other way. An 1800 5 years ago would likely get a rating of 1500 today. Not that you should give that much credence for rating anyway - it's just a probabilistic tool for match making purposes!

Team 1 failed largely due to a lack of scouting. There were so many good targets they never touched because they never saw them.
