Honestly, Roxas was probably more of an overachiever when it came to missions, so we can probably double that number at least.
I kind of feel that maybe in the beginning he was a bit of an overachiever since he was told how important he was to the organizations mission pretty much all the time but maybe as time goes on and especially by the end where he questions everything, he stopped going the extra mile because his trust in them started to waver
There’s a cutscene where Zexion gets snippy because Roxas seems like he might slack off. Organization XIII already has one Demyx and they don’t want another.
As for some of the final missions - especially when Xion slaughters a boss Heartless - Roxas starts to feels weaker. So maybe between the power drain and trust issues, he only makes the minimum quota.
I mean, if you’re feeling constantly exhausted and have zero respect for your bosses, would you be willing to give 110%?
And that makes his victories over Saïx and Xion even more impressive. Roxas was probably fighting with a fraction of his full strength and still came out on top.
I can see an argument being made for Roxas trying to kill as many heartless as possible (I mean, it was quite literately his job in the Organization... probably why he didn't get any Heartless repellant), so a genocidal run might be closer to what Roxas might have canonically done.
At the very least, during that stretch of missions with Xion, he's trying to do "double time" so the organization doesn't realize Xion can't use her keyblade, so at least at that time... so there is no reason for him not to max out his heartless kill count during that point in the story.
Don’t forget having a Keyblade made Roxas a Heartless Magnet. They’d likely try to swarm him whenever possible.

This really puts Sora’s feats in the 1000 Heartless battle in perspective - In that one fight, he defeated more Heartless than Roxas did in nearly a whole year
Sora defeated a bunch of fodder, Roxas was tasked with hunting the most BS heartless species known to man.
Roxas' insane power level in the KH3 Saix fight was lore accurate.
Sure it's impressive but yeah some of the Heartless Roxas had to kill were probably stronger than the ones Sora was fighting in that particular battle
Basically: Sora has numbers, but Roxas has difficulty.
Sora beat more Heartless, but Roxas consistently beat harder Heartless
Square warped people's memories of the DS games with those Cutscene Comps.
The gameplay was the best part about both games, but all people remember is one or two bad moments for Days and the recoded minigames. Their war crimes won't be forgotten...
The gameplay for Days is an acquired taste I think but it's really not as bad as people like to make it out to be
@@KeyofTime15 It was far from perfect, but considering HAND took the BBS command deck and somehow made it work better than Osaka itself ever did, on DS hardware mind you and while working all those boss minigames...
...dude just imagine what the series would be like today if back then Square let HAND cook.
In my opinion, the gameplay mechanics of Days were actually really solid. I mean, the command deck is a bit of a hit or miss, but it's really fun to experiment with if you're into that, it could have been really great if we had the option to save Command Deck recipes.
And in combat itself, there were so many great ideas. Limit Breaks were cool enough, a desperation move/state to be used when in a pinch is super useful, but they were the least of the ideas in terms of potential.. I mean, magic that varies in effect depending on what level you cast it? Different combat styles for different keyblades WITH the option of changing the combo with an imput at the precise moment?
Sure, there were definetly some rough spots. Ruler of the Sky? Leech Grave? F*CKING EMERALD SERENADES!?
But overall, it's really not as bad as a lot of people make it sound. It's just that the hardware of the DS really limited the game, making the pacing and fluidity of combat really bad and repetitive. If it had been done in the PS2 with the same engine as KH2, Days could have been a really solid game.
They really should have just made all the KH games for the same console instead of spreading them around like they did.
if you ever do a sequel while roxas genocide run might be fun (just watch out for sans) it might also be fun to try to calculate xion's after all i imagine with the organization giving no cares about xion would put her in a similar rank as roxas (plus the bloodthirstiness that she has)
I think a follow up is inevitable but idk if Xion's kills will make too much of a difference....maybe tho! We'll see!

Yeah I can imagine he killed more than needed for missions towards the beginning of his year but probs less as he began to trust the Org less, but I have to call into question Day 358 since we can see in the secret movie that Roxas was surrounded by basically an army of Neo Shadows, and definitely fought his way to the skyscraper, since he pulled out his keyblades at the start and definitely needed to let out some aggression. At least, I can imagine he probably killed at least a 50 on that night alone, judging by Another Side Another Story, and yes I know he didn’t finish them all off before engaging Riku but cmonnnnnn he was so cool that night
Considering that at least 90% of the hearts gathered for the artificial Kingdom Hearts was provided by Roxas, I'd say Roxas committed genocide on the heartless kind and that's not even counting the heartless he took out that DIDN'T have hearts to drop. Btw I know I said that Roxas provided at least 90% of the hearts but that was honestly just me being generous towards Xion since I know she also contributed but considering she spent long periods of time without access to her Keyblade and considering just how much Roxas had to cover for her, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the % was higher for Roxas.

I wouldn't count the heart points as hearts, it makes no sense that a heartless can produce more than one heart when defeated.
For that you can simply ignore the heart count and just count the # of Heartless
I think canonically roxas would kill as many heartless as possible. I think back to the mission where he gets a day off and doesn't really know what to do with it. However I think later on i wouldn't be surprised if Roxas rushed his missions just to hang out with Axel and Xion, but I think they're less inclined to rush it if their missions were assigned with one another. Besides Roxas and Xion both have proved that they like making people happy.
Honestly typing this out I'm kind of disappointed we didn't get any more dynamics from any of the organization members prior to castle oblivion. Oh well side note.

Roxas is definitely an overachiever, i can see the first half of the year he tried really hard and then it was bare minimum and then missions was all he haf so he bounced back hard and then Xion fight....(😢)

Small point, but it might be worth lowering the sound effects you use for the in game popups, they are significantly louder than your voice. so I'd have to turn the volume up to hear you, and get deafened by those notifications. In turn, making it very hard to finish the video.

I would like to point out that the heart points probably are not the correct amount of hearts. I mean if a Heartless steals hearts then a new heartless is born. It doesn't add to the amount of hearts this one heartless has. And with the combo you get extra heartpoints so making them defeated faster let them have more hearts? I don't know. I would assume the heart coint is just actually the heartcount of emblem heartless. And now I'm curious how many that would be...also I'm curious how many that would need to spawn Kingdom Hearts the first time in the story.
👿 As someone with a Roxas fictive (alter number 13 babey) we'd certainly be interested in seein' the total that's possible ta kill in 358. Cause it doesn't have unlimited spawns like regular KH we imagine, right? It's really the only time in KH ya CAN count a max count hahaha. Think we tried 100%'ing when we were still a kid, don't think it felt fulfilling with *that* ending but still!

But upon further questioning there is actually a mission (one of the ones with Xigbar to Olympus) where I believe there is an endless spawn of Lil Cannons
And the Windstorm mission (might?) Have endless detonators
So maybe it's not as possible but with enough loopholes I could probably make it happen
There are a couple rare instances where enemies spawn in infinitely.... but you can probably logic out most of those.
