I help my friends and they help me in return. This only started when I offered to help first. The more successful my friends are, the more successful I am.
i don't understand why everyone is pissed, he is saying the truth. accept it. it's about most, not ALL. I did my engineering from tier 3 college now i work at a product based company. and when i was in college i didn't have a fucking idea what is going on, no peer learning. just studied for exams.
I have just started my Third Year(5th sem) , I have not much involved coading or learning much skills till now although I opted engineering because I liked it comapritively then other things noone fored me but then all procrastination kinds of things happened cause ofc no one besides me was doing it (some were) . You see, That's the problem in India, people just don't want to digest the truth. I'm from tier 3 and one of my friend is in IIT, The diffrence in env is just huge. The seniors their are like guiding lights and seniors at my college were as much clueless as i was lol
The biggest drawback in Tier 3 is that smartness is not appreciated. I was one of the smartest students in my college and some of my teachers loathed me for that, it was also because I was never a bootlicker. I was kept away from what minimal opportunities came there. There weren't many peers to have discussions about ideas or innovation, just groups of simps simping over girls. 2.5 years there taught me the importance of a high Tier college and why people yearn for them.
Do you have any discord groups links where all of the people like us from tier 3 get in touch with and share our thoughts on technical skills. If you habe it please let me know. I wann join it
I agree with you that being in a Tier 3 college is unfortunate. I also regret that my classmates are not interested in anything other than getting a job. The environment really matters, and without competition, we will never try to improve ourselves. I look forward to getting into an IIT in the future so that I can be valued for my best.
@@des5277In my college most of the students are not even interested in engineering, most of them have family business. Even if some good guest lecturer come to college, they would harass, boo the lecturer. They would happily spend their time fawning over girls, smoking and mobile then doing something productive.
"Harkirat, (I would really appreciate it if you read this). Your perspective on the differences between Tier-3 and Tier-1 students is spot on. However, the amenities you're referring to only serve as an advantage for those who are truly committed to their field. I am studying in Tier-3 college and knowing some friends in Tier-1, I've seen and heard that many Tier-1 students aren't necessarily better than Tier-3 students. Tier-3 students can outperform; they just need a supportive, like-minded group."👍🏻
things get bigger when you compare a college from USA then Top 3 IIT bombay and madras and delhi then you would know why MIT is MIT and when you know the difference why a person getting rank under 100 rank in advance get rejected from MIT,
Having been with many Stanford undergrads, I found they weren't smarter than the general IIT crowd. The innovation at these institutions often stems more from substantial funding than from a superior student body. While MIT has its share of exceptionally brilliant individuals, the average undergraduate student there may not be as extraordinary as we Indians believe. Regarding admissions, even students ranked under 100 in IIT may not secure a spot due to quotas for scholarship students from different countries. Before making judgements, it's important to gather information and do thorough research.
@@aditya7069 Yes, I had to make an account, and trust me, that doesn’t make me any less of a fan of MIT, Stanford, or UCB. So don’t worry my preferences aren’t skewed by the criticism and timestamp when my account was created. Just thought I'd drop some truth here. Believe it or not, that’s up to you. We all mature over time. But, best of luck with everything and may you achieve everything you dream of and more. Cheers!
@@LEVEL0king who wants to get into tier 3. Obviously nobody brother. Tier 3 is like a jail requiring 75% attendance. I dont know about ur college but in our college its compulsory. I also regret too much seeing me before and now😭
only the talent matters I am from tier 3 college I have done many courses from Udemy and other online platforms and I got into a MNC with the package of 50lpa its more than most of tier 1 colleges its important to learn new things in college and network with people on linkedin and twitter . We can go into good colleges but for an oc male its tough to get in because of people with reservation are large in number and seats are less its really important to understand this ratio and work hard in college u go to and no company asks for which college u have done your degree they only check your communication and knowledge related skills
Thanks! It was an insightful video. I'm going to start my college journey (it's a tier 3 college unfortunately) I'll quickly set a fallback for myself so that I can do greater things in life.
bro change ur prespective .. its not unfortunate ... u just make friends who want to put efforts for their career.. its not urfortunate....if u think its unfortunate then u already lost ur 4 years ..think that if i didnt get into teir one or 2 .. i will surely do hard work and be focused ....trust me u can be far better than those teir 1.. just do what needs to be done.. be with like minded people.. be pro active ..stay away from nusance.. thats it
You'll still find plenty of communities online. Go be that one guy on your campus who's exposing your college mates to brilliant resources. You might end up making some amazing friends along the journey.

We can see notable differences between Tier 1 and Tier 3 colleges, emphasizing the benefits that Tier 1 college students enjoy because of their alumni connections. Have you thought about creating a community for 100x developers with alumni tags, supported by 100x developer students on a large scale?
this is sooo accurate... recently, people have been saying IITs are overrated and all, but it's not! not the newer IITs, newer IITs are overrated, but not the top 7 IITs, and a govt. eng. clg imo has >>> infra than any pvt. clg. at least for core branches no matter what
IITs are not overrated but the reasons they succeed are : 1- Iitians succeed because there are less students in a batch and more companies come for placements so every one gets selected. 2- Internships come to their door in IITs whereas tier-3 college students have to find them own their own. 3- IITians have great connections of seniors and alumni network and due to which they don't have tension for placements. As far as sheer codding talent is considered then if you take top 10% of tier-3 colleges , they will perform as good as the IITians if not better.
thank you for your experience harkirat bhai. i recently understood the pitfalls of non-target (also called tier-2/3) students -> starting a course but dropping it kyunki 'scope' nahi hai -> not sticking to anything -> following hype trains, engagement bait, market -> not going in depth, not following textbooks -> zero sum mindset amongst peers, low-trust environment -> priorities are living leisurely there is a reason why tier-1 students succeed, and it's not as black and white as they're smarter.
Numerous seniors of mine are there in that coaching : ) Even some of my close friends visited IITR to meet sir ( 🥹🥹 unfortunately i as unaware were they were going), and last day i came to know about their meet, I was astonished after listening their convos feedback ......... yes bro same here I know about dsa and development is 4th year of engineering, guidance is necessary also friend circle, but no interested. now I am joined startup and doing asa regularly. make connection or your friends may be doing job in top companies so ask them for referral when your fully prepared.
As someone who is going to do BCA from a tier 2 college this year, this look into different spaces was very insightful. Thanks a lot Harkirat for such content nobody makes stuff like this. Your are the GOAT!!!
Tier 3 & tier 1 students can have the same high skill level if tier 3 students have guidance from professionals ... But only disparity is the opportunities of job & internship Some tier 3 people cracked Google, meta etc Irrespective of clg if enough efforts are put in still anyone crack their dream company
U don't know, Tier -1 students get guidance from seniors day 1 and doesn't waste time. No fear of placements and internships. The ALUMNI network. The infra and facilities. The opportunities on plate just compete from piers and "guaranteed to get it " from campus and not search for off campus.
@@NovaOsmos you are a pessimist ... Not much you can achieve with this level of anxiety & fear ... When you want something you have to put in the work Is there no person from tier 3 cracked faang? There are plenty & you should try to be in that plenty as well

I mentored a hackathon in DTU couple of years ago. It was jointly organized by DTU and IGDTUW. One one the DTU students rudely ordered me to bring his phone from first row to his row. He was sitting few rows behind. He asked me if I was in second year BTech. And when I told him that I was in Ph.D. and that I finished my masters quite some time ago - that's when he started treating me with respect. Which also sounded very reluctant. Is this something common or did I simply met with the wrong person at the wrong time? It didn't sit well with me. Imagine going to a Tier 1 institute and kids basically disrespect you. Where is humanity?
yeah ,so I 'm in a tier 2.5 private college ,only 20 among 200 knows can make website or do leetcode problems (basic) in 4 sem ,majority is herd , no interest in anything except wasting time .
Harkirat please don’t degrade your content for this reason and try to make the content beginner friendly. now I am worried. 😢 please continue whatever you are doing.
Seems like we are still too behind in terms of levelling off colleges. While everyone keeps calling colleges by Tiers, the situation is less likely to change. Someone could argue about "do it and prove it" but again as a community we've probably failed to bring them on the same ground. All the people from private colleges would agree that more than what we experience in the university, we are highly influenced by a generic opinion of people, and in the world we live, it does affect our thinking, and in turn makes us less confident about or path or goals. Isn't it? I've also experienced the same feeling in Corporate Sector. There surely is disparity created between different colleges, not just packages or job-roles, but the behaviour of others that pinches the most. Students who come from these "so-called" high-tier colleges act as if students from private colleges haven't earned their job. While everyone puts in the same effort to reach a mark, we often forget about the effort in the hunt of our own "college" ego. And phir kisi IIT wale ko boldo ki "bhai tu toh metallurgy krra h" then they feel ill...Felt like tasting your own medicine is hard.
coding skill is actually an inherent skill i feel while it can be acquired but just bcoz you are academically bright doesnt mean you will code better , I have seen lots of ppl infact so called back benchers in my tier 3 college much better than me in coding skills and even better than most tier 2 colleges heck tier 1 colleges even, also you are right that we need to let this elite mentality thingy go for any kind of inferiority and superiority complex , at the west most of the ppl dont even care about college degrees and just cares about who is the best at the job
BS, stop crying and improve that's it, I was in a tier 3 pvt college as well but I bagged the highest placement anyone from my college has ever gotten (off campus). I did not tell anyone about it nor do I care. There is no point in "levelling off colleges". Rather than this mentality let people make choices. No one and I would repeat NO ONE in my college knew about GSoC until some GDSC lead sent an email to everyone about it. When I used to talk to people about OS or CP back in my first year no one knew what I was talking about. People are clueless because they don't use internet. Yes opionins are shaped by people around you but you are responsible to select or reject those opinions. Making projects just for the sake of making them. Solving DSA just because "job lag jaigi". All these nonsense and no drive to actually write code or have some interest in computer science makes people have only surface level knowledge. Stop blaming conditions and people around you. Take the responsibility and put that frustration into your work.
@@anshumanp74 Yehi toh issue h. Everyone just likes to work for their “dsa”, their “job”, their “highest placement”. You only have the “drive” to write code and you never tried to motivate people around you to have the same drive. he is right about the fact that in tier 3 colleges groups are mostly unorganized so outcome of learning during college days are a bit less thats why we start a bit slow in the career maybe with 3.3 or 4.5 lpa job but at the end it doesnt matter if you are ready to skill up fast , a lot of my friends are working in product based companies like razorpay and others and while not minting crores but doing quite well earning 3-5x the experience or more. the main problem is however is often the lack of structure though but yeah everything seems to be too much of a rat race though , you spend the 20s and early 30s grinding too hard for your career and then when late 30s hit you are already inundated with family responsibilities and just realise that in the hustle of this rat race you forgot to live and have multiple diseases to show for, while I might not be an influential person or a tier 1 college alumni , I was thinking of making a video on this topic with my 8 years of experience so far in the corporate world
To clarify on agriculture income tax, 1. Its used for making black money to white, hence youll see no government official wants to do this step. 2. More than 90% of Indian Farmers are poor, hardly making 1lpa to 3 lpa (if lucky) 3. The people at top ( Rich Farmers + Government officials ) are using agriculture to do their quirky jobs. I have personally seen farmer in banks telling me to fill forms for them, such basic slips they dont know. + Huge big queues for 1500 rupees from government . . They cant afford refined oil and yes that 3 lpa profit is again invested into agriculture for next year business , so in hand make your guess. And their expectation , their kids will go to college learn something and get into jobs and earn good. -> But their kids are in tier 3 clg. I feel so sad , after knowing both sides of spectrum
My experience from a tier 3 college. I have freinds who are in IITs , i have freinds in tier3 colleges. I have freinds who are smart but didn't go for engineering at all. Biggest difference from tier 3 and a tier 1 students is not their smartness it's the financial background and the family background. Tier3 students are just as hungry or capable to grow but are stuck in an stupid discriminative market. There are students who are trying to breack through with the limited resources. This whole fiasco is just a way to play a safe bet on an employee. Then there is the matter of confidence as well, person who succeeded has more confidence than the one who failed. At this point the biggest problem is not the hardwork or smartwork it's population. Disclaimer this is my experience from my perspective.

Before even watching this video entirely let me tell you situation of my college so i am pursuing bca in a tier 3 college in jaipur and situation here is worse they delayed the classes so much in 1st sem that only 60% syllabus was completed prior to final exam secondly they let you take mobile in mid term and practical exam and you can cheat in front of them but that doesn't happen in end of sem exam as we gets a centre to write exam. They taught c programming language with just taking example explaining them then taking students to lab and telling them to write the same code and show output and leave this happened in html too and css and javascript was skipped as i told you 40% syllabus was remaining in 2nd sem they skipped lectures , labs and just doing formality to arrange lectures and somehow completed syllabus in sem 2 and taught nothing practically and gave important questions to learn to get pass in university exams now i am in 2nd year and 3rd sem classes are now going to start from 9th sept 2024. Many colleges exist like mine and they just conduct lectures because you have paid fees they make false promises and show fake reality imagine in bca you are rote learning code to write and get pass in exam.
There is one thing I can tell from my experience. I dropout from chitkara University recently I m in 3 rd if I didn't. I love tech but I found that colleges are so fucking bad man they are trying to teach classes and they take like 1 year to teach one language and then some other shits.
2.5 years there taught me the importance of a high Tier college and why people yearn for them.

things get bigger when you compare a college from USA then Top 3 IIT bombay and madras and delhi then you would know why MIT is MIT and when you know the difference why a person getting rank under 100 rank in advance get rejected from MIT,
Having been with many Stanford undergrads, I found they weren't smarter than the general IIT crowd.
Before making judgements, it's important to gather information and do thorough research.

this is sooo accurate... recently, people have been saying IITs are overrated and all, but it's not! not the newer IITs, newer IITs are overrated, but not the top 7 IITs, and a govt. eng. clg imo has >>> infra than any pvt. clg. at least for core branches no matter what
IITs are not overrated but the reasons they succeed are :
1- Iitians succeed because there are less students in a batch and more companies come for placements so every one gets selected.

-> following hype trains, engagement bait, market

He was sitting few rows behind. He asked me if I was in second year BTech. And when I told him that I was in Ph.D. and that I finished my masters quite some time ago - that's when he started treating me with respect. Which also sounded very reluctant. True bhaiya, smart people group is missing from tier 3 colleges.

When I used to talk to people about OS or CP back in my first year no one knew what I was talking about. People are clueless because they don't use internet. Yes opionins are shaped by people around you but you are responsible to select or reject those opinions. Making projects just for the sake of making them. Solving DSA just because "job lag jaigi". he is right about the fact that in tier 3 colleges groups are mostly unorganized so outcome of learning during college days are a bit less thats why we start a bit slow in the career maybe with 3.3 or 4.5 lpa job but at the end it doesnt matter if you are ready to skill up fast , a lot of my friends are working in product based companies like razorpay and others and while not minting crores but doing quite well earning 3-5x the experience or more. the main problem is however is often the lack of structure though but yeah everything seems to be too much of a rat race though , you spend the 20s and early 30s grinding too hard for your career and then when late 30s hit you are already inundated with family responsibilities and just realise that in the hustle of this rat race you forgot to live and have multiple diseases to show for, while I might not be an influential person or a tier 1 college alumni , I was thinking of making a video on this topic with my 8 years of experience so far in the corporate world

To clarify on agriculture income tax,
1. Its used for making black money to white, hence youll see no government official wants to do this step.
2. More than 90% of Indian Farmers are poor, hardly making 1lpa to 3 lpa (if lucky)

Tier3 students are just as hungry or capable to grow but are stuck in an stupid discriminative market.

They taught c programming language with just taking example explaining them then taking students to lab and telling them to write the same code and show output and leave this happened in html too and css and javascript was skipped as i told you 40% syllabus was remaining in 2nd sem they skipped lectures , labs and just doing formality to arrange lectures and somehow completed syllabus in sem 2 and taught nothing practically and gave important questions to learn to get pass in university exams now i am in 2nd year and 3rd sem classes are now going to start from 9th sept 2024. i am from a tier-3 college and i wanna say that the mentality of the students here is a lot different they do not even want to get educated when i was in my first year i had connections from few students and alumni from IITs and IIITs so i got inspired and i tried to make a community of all the first year students for DSA and DEV because i had a little prior knowledge which i really wanted to share without any selfishness or whatever but as soon as i made the community after a few days a controversy was going through the nation and i don't know from no where these people started spamming JSR JSR and other religious slogans in the group which i thought could be a very professional one that day i thought i will never try to help these guys who are so self sophisticated and political minded and i know with this mindset they can never succeed.... huhh this is my first time writing such a long comment......
Don't you have problem from ola hu uber ?
My junior team mates who joined this year are from ECE from old IITs and they are saying that placement scene is very bad for last 2 years in IITs. Very few companies are visiting the campus and offering less compensation as compared to previous years.
I am from a tier-3 college. there i am pursuing BMLT and during exams principal came to every class to distribute cheats but you will get cheats only if you you have submitted fees and in my first year 1 teacher is teaching 6 subjects
In tier 3 collegesand below u can take mobile to exams my friend shared a video even the teacher is qualified but dosent have the teaching attitude some of them leave the college b/w sem its horrible thank god I was in good college
Man I can not take a person seriously who is wearing these kind of t shirt
Absolutely!
You see, That's the problem in India, people just don't want to digest the truth.
I'm from tier 3 and one of my friend is in IIT, The diffrence in env is just huge. The seniors their are like guiding lights and seniors at my college were as much clueless as i was lol
tier 1 or tier 69 plus or heck even degree doesnt matter if you are Extraordinary skilled, i do understand having a degree from low tier college will give u a placement with lower ctc than a degree from tier 1 with same level of skills but after few years the salary of both employee will even out, so it doesnt really matter in the long run from which collge u graduate
This video got me the feeling "fuck" piche reh gaya.....
Just want to salute u sir 👌....and pray you get to do more what you doin
This video probably made me more anxious ..lol..
since i was 16, i wanted to do something extraordinary like elon musk mainly to expand the scope of consciousness and pace up the process of making earth a type 1 civilazation but after getting into tier3 college i found out that the financial condition of my family isn't as good as i was thinking which made me follow the established path of dsa , dev and all that jazz....now i'm 20 and my goal is to retire before 30 and then i gonna devote myself entirely to my goal
every average middle class boy story
Retire before 30, sure 😂🤡
And I have already planned the same journey for my upcoming years.....bcuz I am also a guy from your class 🙂
Tier 3, 20 year old, package at max - 30lpa for 8 years, no retirement before 40
I understand you bro. I watched interstellar when i was a kid and i got inspired to get into science. I wanted to change the world somehow. At 17 i realized how naive i was...
harikirat bhai ia m from tier 3 college , my peers are not good but still i managed know a lot of things in DEV and WEB3 still unplaced because of f placement of college. i wish i would have met with tutorials earlier , though I know you from a long ago from harnoor vlogs mustang and all.
so i am from tier 3 college currently in final year 7th sem electronics and telecommunication and 98% of students doesnt care about anything they are not interesed in anything related to their future they all either dont want job and even if they need they dont want to put effort most students dont know what variables loops not even a basic.
I think he only met CS guys of IITs. Internships for non-circuital branches have more luck and gender biasedness induced in it! I don't know whether I should suggest or not but prepare backup plans for on-campus placements/internships also even if you are from Tier-1 college but with bad branch (Although getting placed is easy even in core branch if you had done something)
I learned everything from TH-cam. You don’t need smart content only good content. It’s available, try to learn from foreign people educators as well as Indians.
I got to Amazon from tier 3 never was a part of any fancy coding clubs in our college.
Hey, can you briefly share your journey like how you were able to succeed despite being from a tier 3 college. I'm from a tier 3 college as well and just graduated this year.
I think the importance of college will depreciate as reservations increases . So in 2024 it does not really matter as far as a person is skilled and motivated to work. There are so many online courses on scalar and so many websites to upskill one.
Last year I went to recruit in some of the IITs hoping that I will be recruiting some really big brains but the kind of students I interviewed seem to have lesser knowledge than tier 2 college students .
Thank you for speaking the truth, last few minutes are genuinely relatable.
Education is directly proportional to one's economic status but one's intellect isn't bound by any shackles.
great advice!!!
NIT allahabd 3rd year student here, i too don't wish to follow the rat race, i really wanna start up but startup culture is almost non-existent here. Would have been cool to start something that eventually lead s to getting backed by YC. I guess i'll just keep trying after getting a job.
The points you made are absolutely right
cse is not about learning frontend backend its about learning cs fundamentals, how computers work. it is old but its necessary
Two videos at the same time
Somebody had to say this and better it's coming from the legend itself....
We had no internet at our college and were not allowed to turn on computer whenever we want
Everyone one is just talking about btech from tier 3 students..
But hum bsc students ka usase bhi batar haal hai...
leave it and do btech if you are not top 0.1% bsc/bca
Yeah bro my college doesn't have any culture like groups that he was talking about
Hey, I am a CSE student at IIT Gandhinagar, which is a college more inclined towards research and masters. I have deep interest in Web3 and currently investing good amount of time in it and would love to connect with like minded people from IIT Roorkee. Would it be possible in any way that I can connect there via you or any other way?
how can we develop oursselves so peoples or needy one will aproach us
Not knowing about YC... dat is szhoking asf . lol now I am scared of tier 3
What you said in this video is very true.
A different kind of question but I just wanna know how are your speaking skills so good, fluent English and amazing vocabulary. How can someone improve his communication skills?
As it's India Education system. So these things will always be there...... Maturity is when you learn to find way around for these.
I study at Waterloo in Canada and it’s so easy to get placement if you are decent with dsa, full stack and proficient English.
Even right now???? Cause even students at Universities like Georgia tech are unable to find jobs
yes, my friends at asu also say so
@@Askyomama_whoIam depends person to person. If you really want it then you get it also asking for referrals goes a long way.
Meanwhile he is promoting to get the students to go to kota suicide factory to go for jee preparation...please make the video on it ....
Bhai iit k name p kuch bhi mat lo tumhara intrest dekho bhai ,just for iit tag people choose lower branches jisme intrest nhi aur 4 sal vo padoge kya? Sidha vo kro jisme intrest h jha se kro matlab nhi job krte vaqt satisfaction to ayega bhale hi 10 lpa ho pack
just got correct video at correct time...
around placements time, confused...
thanks harkirat bhai for superb informative content and being a source of inspirations!
in india engineering= coding......
if u r in tier 3 college and are in core branches like civil , mechanical, electrical , prepare for govt jobs .... like ssc je , rrb je , state je , also u can prepare for IAs , and other govt jobs , engineering is not only to get an IT job , don't get demotivated just get a fkin degree and ace the exams .....
as u know core branches are evergreen
good luck for ur future guys.....
Love from IIT Roorkee❤
How to create a fallback as a tier-less college student (I will be joining college in few days)
After knowing the reality of my college, my reaction was "your T-shirt"
Just for your insight .. I am from DTU CSE (mathematics) dept.
I want to know your opinion on new gen colleges like scaler , NIAT , Polaris and all , what you think? Do you think this colleges will become the future IITS or they are Just going to fail ?
Well i m from teir 3 college, and regular viewer even though i don't get things understanding i try to be consist is becoming a time or i m investing my time properly (currently done 2 yr exams and doing paid internship )
11:01 is Raman classes in roorkee
Any significance of his tshirt 😢😢
Peers are what motivates in the end and that’s where all the tier difference happens. But ya higher the tier better the security regardless of slillset
I am a 2nd year student from Tier 3 CLG, but I also cracked an internship about VR and development in VR (it is a startup). I also have confidence that I might get a PPO in the long run from this company. What should be my future plan to achieve a higher package?
DSA
Your LinkedIn please?
That t-shirt is the reality of tier-3 students..
I am a skilled frontend developer with a strong background in DSA , as well as Java programming. Coming from a non-technical background, should I prepare for the MCA entrance exam to obtain a CS degree ?
