    11:30 "I'm fine with where I am, but I want to improve. It makes no sense. You have to be fine with letting go of what you're comfortable with, because a lot of what you're comfortable with is bad habits."
    Now that is some LIFE advice.

    • @DamianSzajnowski
      @DamianSzajnowski 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      It does make sense. You can actively seek to improve while being happy. Nothing necessarily self-negating in that mindset. Guess it can be helpful but I definitely don't need to be disgusted about my current self to consider and partake change.

    • @DamianSzajnowski
      @DamianSzajnowski 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, whatever works for you.

    • @whitelabrat
      @whitelabrat 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@DamianSzajnowski Not being happy with where you are at in a specific aspect you want to learn about does not need to become unhappiness with everything else. That is the path to anger and self hatred and anger and self hatred lead to the dark side. =)
      That said though how we language things is a more accurate measure of our thoughts than you might think. I don't coach League but I do teach people and when they come to me and say "I want to learn this. I mean I am happy with were I am at but..." I literally say "Stop. Repeat the first sentence. Good now you are done. If you were happy with where you are we would not be having this conversation." The more they push back on being happy with where they are the less likely it is they will apply what I am about to teach them... because they already mentally have given them selves an out... and if you pay attention to language you hear people do this to themselves all the time. Hell I still do it after my teachers pointed it out over and over.
      There can be a long list of reasons why and none of them matter really. The first step in asking for help is admitting there are things you actively want to change.
      This is not the same as saying "I love League and it makes me happy and I want to get better at it." That is a whole other conversation and a much more positive way to look at learning. I love League and have played it for a while now... and there are moments when how I play it really annoys me but over all playing still makes me happy. If it didn't I would stop.

    NEACE great videos, however, if i can offer constructive criticism. When having a guest speaker, especially one that is eager to speak and give info like Phylaris, don't feel pressures to interject as much as it is interrupting the flow of your guest speaker. Work more from an interviewer's perspective rather than a co-host

    If anyone is stuck in iron and bronze make sure you are practicing your cs for 30 minutes before you hop into a game and when you are in a game actually look at the map. Look at opportunities when jungling and playing top. Look for mid roams when playing support. You'll get to silver soon. Like every single time the jungler ganja it's literally the same path cos they are bronze and kinda dumb. 75 for a control ward is worth if you can cs correctly. Press tab look at item choices as well. The main item choice at he moment is boots. Treads or tabi, magic resist or armor. That's the main decision don't worry about mythics or custom builds yet just build core from u.gg I see so many people building armor into a team of ap it's kinda weird. Don't auto pilot. For junglers just use mute all. Go farm and look for opportunities don't just auto pilot farming your jungle. And do not sit in he side bush for 30 minutes waiting for a gank.

    there is nothing wrong with using lock cam as long as you actually use the camera, I just got so used to using the mini map camera drag and f keys, you can hold cam on mini map with right click and use left click to reposition, like I have super high sensitivity on my mouse but also have a button on the side that instantly cuts it in half or less so using the map isnt an issue, I could see myself using semi locked in the future but never free cam that shit annoys me so much ending up on the other side of the map during an intense fight

    Most importantly just pick an easy champion. Like annie mid, garen top, mundo jungle, maokai support and ashe adc. The reason ashe is picked for adc is it helps with her utility. When your team is full bronze and you see an opportunity to go in, ult in to initiate it. Use your e for vision and wards. Your e isn't a control ward but gives your full team vision of enemy jungle it helps a lot and if you fall behind you have slows so you aren't fully useless.

    The first thing I tell someone when I hear that they use locked cam is that their own champion is the last thing they want to look at, since it is the easiest thing to keep track of without direct visual confirmation. If you unexpectedly get attacked while not looking at your champ, it's not an unlocked cam problem, you just needed better intel on the enemies' movements. Same thing with pathing errors, it's generally your own fault when your champ paths directly to their death, not the unlocked camera's.

    I like the iteration on the "max 4 champions", I always tried to do this. Once some guy first-timing Evelynn in silver said to me: "300k kayn main? sad" and I was pissed he actually thinks playing a champion for the first time in ranked is a good thing.
    Anyway, I was actually always curious. Phylaris says "branch out once you're diamond" and I always thought it's a bad thing to practice new champions in ranked, especially in high elo. I mean I shouldn't care much in silver because I can't really get much lower but once I get into diamond?
    Here is the actual question: do you high-elo-players actually practice completely new champions in ranked diamond and not in normal or on some silver smurf account? Isn't it considered trolling if someone tries to get to master and the other one just first-times Lee Sin in his placements?

    • @dandelo6479
      @dandelo6479 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The four champ rule is for people who are new and cannot perform on the grand scale of the game. Playing a small pool lets you get used to the micro of the champ, so you don’t spend the whole game trying to figure out riven or irelia or lee sin or something. It focuses you onto performing and learning general gameplay. There is no problem playing as many champs as you want, as long as you have passable mechanics and the correct macro plays. Some champs like evelynn need you to be a dedicated player to understand your limits to be able to actually perform on her.
      Branching out makes you a better player because you get deeper understanding of enemy champs, but also because you eventually need to start picking for team comp. One tank, one AP, one ad, etc. will likely hold yourself back. Graves and Kayn and viego are all ad, but wildly different champs. Sometimes you need one over the other. Passable vs. main (or OTP) gameplay is just a matter of absolutely maximizing your gameplay, but that can be learned only through playing more games.

    I would love to see a breakdown of sorts, for each role.
    Where for every single elo, just 1 thing is pointed out that you should be working on.
    To give an example: Neace made a video a while back with a breakdown of the Elos, with a small list of things that say... a Silver player should work and focus on.
    Now break that down even further, and make it so Silver 4: One thing to work on. Silver 3: One thing to work on. Etc. etc. for every single Elo from Iron IV, all the way to Grandmaster.
    This would accomplish several things: It makes things extremely manageable and less overwhelming, because at any given time, you only have to remember, and work on, that one specific thing.
    That means you work more consistently on it, and you see tangible improvement faster.
    For the 'coach' it also helps their ability to teach overall, not because they are giving the client more specific advice, but because making a list like that makes them think about the game, and the flaws and requirements of each Elo in a different way.

    I have absolutely no problem with the f key cameras. I check them often and all that.
    What gives me a hard time in this game camera wise is the "NORMAL" camera control that everyone think is fine.
    Im used to controling the camera with WASD in all rts games i play for ages.
    And in league i cant actually do that because it kinda "hurt" my game because i have to shift every command around.
    At one time i used to play like WASD camera, f1 to f4 camera hotkey, 1234 abilities, q and e sum spells, zxcvrfg items / trinket, ' to target champ only \ to stop the champion and mouse 4 to attack move click. And some combos/mechanics that are so easy to pull off using the default controls are just A PAIN to do with those keybinds.
    Im not testing a different keybind scheme but i need to learn to control the camera with the mouse thing is I HATE DOING IT. I dont like dragin the camera around with the mouse i never done it in ANY GAME IN MY LIFE it is completely counter intuitive at least for me. I dont play with locked camera since i started to play league because as i said i always bind the camera controls to wasd in all top down/rts game.

    I understand exactly what Neace is talking about in all of his videos. Even when watching pro plays I try to assume who will do what in the next 30 to 60 sec and I get it right most of the time. Why the fuck am I GOLD fucking 4 for fuck sake? Where is the problem??

    I’m an Eve main currently in silver 2 and I definitely felt what he said about paying your team back when playing a farming powerspike champion I usually find that around 10-15 minutes is when I come alive and secure a double or a kill, I’ve played many games where my lanes are hard losing and I show up with level 6 and an item spike and turn the game around

    I'd like to add here: At 26:50 if you think you have too much time until respawn you can always take a peek into the enemy jungle before backing. If not for camps then for warding.

      I used to do this a ton but finally made the switch and it took quite a bit of time to get used to completely unlocked but was well worth it because I can use F-keys real fast and then spacebar back to my champ.

    I've never had locked camera, it never even occurred to me that anyone would have it locked. Maybe because I come from RTS's like C&C and StarCraft, where there is nothing to lock the camera to.

    I'd like to ask a question to Neace and all of my fellow commenters, he described Udyr as being good for low elo junglers, Im a returner previously gold 1 but right now if I did ranked I'd be bronze most likely.
    When I first started my friends told me Udyr is bad becuase he brings nothing to a teamfight and can be kited too easily, has something changed to make him be amazing to pick up or?
