Via Suecia Vasaloppsleden part 5: from Smågan to Östfjällsstugan cabin (and to Högfjällshotellet)

In this part I started early to reach my bus back home at Högfjällshotellet. First you follow a road, and then the trail goes up and down, some parts are steep. For those of you who need to buy food there are several good stores along this part. When descending towards the start of Vasaloppsleden take the trail towards Sälen by that has lights (it's yellow on the Google map). Look out for a small trail/shortcut that will take you down to the Coop shop in sälen by. After Sälen by stay on the road until reaching Östfjällsvägen. Follow it ca 3 km, turn left and then ca 1,7 km to get to the trail leading up to the mountain.The cabin Östfjällsstugan is comfy and there is usually a well stocked wood shed. From here you can either continue Via Suecia north or take a detour to Högfjällshotellet (ICA shop). Enjoy!
