Everytime I drive onto the highway I think about that scene in onward where he’s like “I’m not ready!” And his brother goes “you’ll never be ready!! Good for us :) driving in FL is fucking scary (I’ve lived here my whole life and still am not used to how insane everyone is on the roads here)

Hi, Simsie! I wanted to say good job for driving on the highway by yourself! I have driving anxiety too and sometimes it can be really hard to get to places that I need to go. Keep up the good work. :)
I have terrible driving anxiety as a 24 year old. I'm working on getting over it as well, so I totally relate to your stories. I love that you're open about it, I've not seen other people who are, and it makes me feel not alone. So thank you. And congratulations on making that milestone of driving the highway alone! It may not seem like a lot to others, but that's huge! Especially here with Florida's traffic. Good luck on your continued progress!

Thank you so much for talking about your anxiety around driving! I had huge issues with that and am still sensitive around it, but luckily after two years, including eight months of having to drive separate highways to and from work and do spontaneous trips to places I've never been before, I recently realised I now feel somewhat secure. I'd still rather someone else drive and I get another responsibility, but I can now feel independent and like I could pick up my friends or family when they need it. It's really something that might feel isolating, especially when everyone else seems to either be super excited or see driving as boring routine. My driving instructors surely made me feel like I was the problem (not by being unkind, just baffled by the situation). So, again, thanks for sharing!
Could you upload all the lots and families to the gallery? I’m on console, so getting the world already built would be impossible (literally). So it’d be really cool if you could upload each family and lot on the gallery with a specific hashtag or something. You’d be helping all console players. Thanks!
Omg I love the nonbinary kids bedroom!! You probably wont see this kayla but as a nonbinary/queer person I feel so welcomed in the community you've made 💖 I wish there were gender customization for kids and they/them pronouns :(
theres no mod i could find with nonbinary options bc apparently gender is just baked into the programming but there was one that changed all personal pronouns to they/them but idk what it was called :/
Proud of you for tackling your fears and exposing yourself to stressful situations! I also have driving anxiety and I'm a little older than you, and it's nothing to be ashamed of since everyone is different.
The way that simsie talks about her driving anxiety, makes me feel so much better about my own driving anxiety. I completely understand the fear of highways and will take alternate routes whenever possible
I recognized it immediately as the house my current generations is living in, it's my fifth/sixth generation with alien dad, human mom and 2 hybrid daughters. It's a lovely house. Looking forward to the completed newcrest
omg simsie!! thank you for sharing about the driving experience! I have anxiety & driving anxiety is really hard for me as well. I drive but only to the same few close places to my house, and I avoid the highway at all costs too. I have practiced with my husband to get better at it but I did it ALONE this last week too for the first time!! AND I LITERALLY WAS LISTENING TO TAYLOR TOO HAHA! “this is me trying” came on and I teared up because I was so proud of myself for doing it and that song is sooo emotional for me. but seriously merging is SO scary and driving is OVERSTIMULATING. I mean theres at least 5 factors to be considering at all times (speed, following gps directions, staying in the lane, other cars getting over, blind spots) that make me so nervous. but challenging my fears and showing myself I CAN do it is sooo much progress. GOOD JOB KAYLA! we have the power, NOT our anxiety!!
I like the orange wallpaper near the bed as the orange guitar is a similar shade to the wallpaper and the dark orange mat looks really nice. So I think you did such a fantastic job. 🙂
I love that Kayla talks about her driving anxiety. I’m 24 and I still don’t have my license, and it’s nice to hear someone else talking about their struggles with driving. So thank you Kayla!

sammmmeeeee im gender fluid and bi so i just love seeing it so much and i love how she doesnt make it a big deal either shes just like oh and theres a non-binary flag and thats the end of it!
As someone who has conquered her fear of driving, the scariest part is merging onto a highway. But once you get on its smooth sailing for miles. Proud of you for taking another step towards conquering your anxiety!
OMG I'm 38 and I haven't driven a car since like 2007. The last time I drove I had such a bad panic attack I almost blacked out. I hate driving anxiety, esp living in CA.
thank you for talking about your driving anxiety. i also have terrible driving anxiety and i’m currently 15 and learning how to drive. i break down everytime i get in the car even when my parents are there. now i know i’m not the only one!
Honestly, The purple master bedroom, the sailboat wallpaper, this house is just very 2000's. The craftsman style bed, it feels like it was built in the 2000's then maybe the new family came in, asked to keep the parent's bed in the signing agreement. I see that background for this house.
my sister wouldn’t go on the highway for years, and still tries to avoid it. so, it can be big deal!! give yourself credit because you did it!! good job kayla :)
I took newcrest and I’m busy making it into a Wodehouse-themed city. Blandings Castle, the golf club from the golf stories, the Drones Club... basically any building featured in P. G. Wodehouse’s books.
On your next house you should make ever room be on a different platform, like the gazebo, but that would be the kitchen and another one would be the living room. You would put dining room on one and bedroom one another. (Bathroom, kids room, entry room, laundry room.) They would all be connected by a bridge or something. I also think it would be cool if you made a room for a dog or dogs, meaning you make a bedroom, but for dogs. With a bed, food and water bowl,a red fire hydrant (instead of the toilet because dogs pee on them). If you do, do this, will you get a Black Labrador Retriever and a Golden Retriever( in memory of two of my dogs that pasted away a year ago). Below are some cute names for the dogs.
i like it when kayla talks about her driving anxiety because it really shouldn't be treated as strange - if you have anxiety, driving can be one of the worst things out there because you can't plan every single thing that's going to happen ahead of time, and you can't control other people's actions. It's frustrating that the only way for driving anxiety to get better is to just drive lmao. i got my license last year and i still haven't driven by myself yet, but it's a goal of mine!! thank you kayla for talking about it
One thing I like to do in my legacy/rags to riches challenges is build as the gameplay goes, so in the end I get a very big house with this weird floorplan where like a bathroom leads to a bedroom lol. I know this would be a nightmare in real life but it is soooo fun in the Sims lol
Honestly, I never knew someone who had driving anxiety so everybody around me struggled to understand my issues. Then I started watching your videos and you mentioned it sometimes and it helped me a lot (that I'm not alone with it) Thank you
So proud of you for leaving the house and driving the car! Voluntarily exposure is the best way to overcome anxiety, but it can be so so so hard to do. Hope you are proud of yourself!
yesss that boat wallpaper is so disgustingly spicy *chefs kiss* i used it for the first time as a fake mural in a public pool build and it fills my heart with glee every time i remember its there
You just reminded me of how empty those penthouses be in city living 😭 it would be cool if you could renovate those with base game things or with any packs you like :)
5:24 this gives me an interesting idea for a video: build a house where you furnish and lay out the floorplan completely opposite to what logic tells you. so for that bedroom bumpout, you'd make it the living room, or the kitchen instead of the logical bedroom.
i have severe driving anxiety and i don't like driving because of it, i always feel like i'm not a real adult because of it so hearing another adult talk and laugh about it is so comforting because it makes me realize i'm not the only one
Driving anxiety is very common. My grandmother hates driving because it gives her anxiety, and I’ve experienced it myself in situations while driving. I’m learning to drive & I’ve learned that you can’t control how others drive but you can control how observant you are & how you drive. Trust yourself behind the wheel and the car itself. When I drive, I’m so silent and my eyes are glued to the road. Drive however makes you comfortable whether it’s 10 below the speed limit or you don’t talk to anyone. It’s important to be safe & you’re for sure not alone with it ❤️
I wish the sims had an easy way to toggle empty/built lots, or randomize lots, or even just have a few different preset layouts for each world. It would help the game feel fresh. Theres only so many i want to marry a alexander goth
Messy individualized kids rooms are a hallmark to growing up - kids should just have things they like in their space even if it doesn’t coordinate. It’s about joy and person space. These kids rooms were wonderful! And I like how colorful they are. :)
Kayla is one of the few sims youtubers that genuinely always has good representation. Like I know it’s just the individuals preference, but it’s nice to watch a sims video with kayla with queer relationships and non-cis characters in the game!
Kayla, I'm so proud of you! I had really bad driving anxiety when I was younger too. Like, cry multiple times behind the wheel bad (just like you haha). However, I was fortunate (or maybe it was unfortunate?) to be forced into situations where I had no choice but to drive. As well as a spartan mother that encouraged/forced me to drive when I didn't want to. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that the constant practice I had did eventually lead to confidence in driving. You're on the right track (and doing better than I did because it's your choice)! Remember that it will get easier!
so happy for you driving on the highway like that! ive always been super anxious about driving, and since lockdown i haven’t driven in months and the idea of doing it again is just getting scarier and scarier
Im so happy you're making a Newcrest rebuild! I love that neighborhood but I'm way too lazy to build it myself and sadly most builds on the gallery don't fit my needs / aren't my style. Also that house is reall, really cute and not that expensive in my opinion. Loved the bedrooms 💕
I love this house, no lie all the uniqueness you were afraid to put in I think was so great, the orange wall, the dark blue room and the art studio room is all so cool, I love the vibes!! 😍

@@Eventide215 you're lucky then, rural areas you're pretty much out of luck if you don't have a license and car. Only recently my area has one bus that goes from the main town to a couple different places, but still nothing in the actual town I live in. I'd take taxi or Uber even if we had it
Everytime I drive onto the highway I think about that scene in onward where he’s like “I’m not ready!” And his brother goes “you’ll never be ready!! MERGE!!”
I also made myself drive somewhere really far out of my comfort zone this week. Good for us :) driving in FL is fucking scary (I’ve lived here my whole life and still am not used to how insane everyone is on the roads here)
I'm so happy you're practicing driving! My girlfriend is doing the same thing and I think you're both incredibly brave!
good luck to your girlfriend!
@@sourpatchkids351 thank you!

“It’s the sims it doesn’t matter!”
Trying to pull onto the highway with Ready For It blaring is so fucking funny 😭😭😭
You should be proud of yourself! My family always talked about how dangerous the highways were. That combined with an accident made me cry too while driving. I'm happy to say now I go everywhere! The exposure helps! Podcasts helped me too!
maybe its just me but i love to put lil simsie speed builds on when im also doing something else. like even if im not paying full attention its nice to hear her just talk ab building
I would really love to see you make the family for this home. Also, I love the amount of gender representation represented in this house!
for real though I feel like a basement "skill room" would be cool
then you could keep all those weird looking items out of sight until you need them lol

Ya happy birthday kayla
I’m literally addicted to this game haha i downloaded it the first time they sponsored her lol its really fun!
Newcrest update!! And captions!!!! Hell yeah!!!!!!

Could you upload all the lots and families to the gallery? I’m on console, so getting the world already built would be impossible (literally). So it’d be really cool if you could upload each family and lot on the gallery with a specific hashtag or something. You’d be helping all console players. Thanks!
Same on console

I think it's her goal to put it up on the gallery when it's finished.
I think she's already doing that!
Yes!
Omg I love the nonbinary kids bedroom!! You probably wont see this kayla but as a nonbinary/queer person I feel so welcomed in the community you've made 💖 I wish there were gender customization for kids and they/them pronouns :(
This!🖤
I seriously almost cried when I saw her do it :3
@lemon demon When I tell you that I've spent hours looking for a mod to do that :-/ But never found it T.T
theres no mod i could find with nonbinary options bc apparently gender is just baked into the programming but there was one that changed all personal pronouns to they/them but idk what it was called :/
Same!!
Unassuming person: what is the style of your dream home?
Me: oh, definitely a Simsie Suburban
Proud of you for tackling your fears and exposing yourself to stressful situations! I also have driving anxiety and I'm a little older than you, and it's nothing to be ashamed of since everyone is different.
the fact that this video is EXACTLY 20 minutes is making me feel amazing
Tbh you're the only builder I've seen who puts pride flags in their builds when it's not June.
And as a non binary trans person oh my god I appreciate it
sammmmeeeee im gender fluid and bi so i just love seeing it so much and i love how she doesnt make it a big deal either shes just like oh and theres a non-binary flag and thats the end of it!

Ikr, and Dude when she put the non binary flag my little non binary heart got so freaking happy-
@@nobrain6094 same and i love ur pfp!!!!! Shinso is amazing lol
I hate driving anxiety, esp living in CA.
thank you for talking about your driving anxiety. i also have terrible driving anxiety and i’m currently 15 and learning how to drive. i break down everytime i get in the car even when my parents are there. now i know i’m not the only one!
i love ad kayak, i’m proud of her
Honestly, The purple master bedroom, the sailboat wallpaper, this house is just very 2000's.
It's frustrating that the only way for driving anxiety to get better is to just drive lmao. i got my license last year and i still haven't driven by myself yet, but it's a goal of mine!! thank you kayla for talking about it
my next door neighbor has the same house as me but mirrored and whenever i go in there i feel disoriented.
also we stan a non binary and trans ally
i noticed that!!!! i stannn
10:05 lilsimsie is a rep stan we love to see that !
Then I started watching your videos and you mentioned it sometimes and it helped me a lot (that I'm not alone with it)
Thank you
The skill room looks like it used to be the nursery, I love it!
So proud of you for leaving the house and driving the car! Voluntarily exposure is the best way to overcome anxiety, but it can be so so so hard to do. Hope you are proud of yourself!
Ok, I love how the story became 'i went on the highway alone' to all this other stuff, culminating in 'Dan was in the car and I was crying.' 😳
yesss that boat wallpaper is so disgustingly spicy *chefs kiss* i used it for the first time as a fake mural in a public pool build and it fills my heart with glee every time i remember its there
You just reminded me of how empty those penthouses be in city living 😭 it would be cool if you could renovate those with base game things or with any packs you like :)
5:24 this gives me an interesting idea for a video: build a house where you furnish and lay out the floorplan completely opposite to what logic tells you. so for that bedroom bumpout, you'd make it the living room, or the kitchen instead of the logical bedroom.
this is like so funny with taylor yelling 'are u ready for it', you made my day LMAO
i love how kayla is a swiftie and sometimes just puts stories envolving Taylor into her videos😩😩us swifties really do appreaciate it
I didnt notice that it was a speedbuild so I just went "WTF HOW SHE BUILD THAT FAST" like I was so fascinated until I saw her hands move.
i have severe driving anxiety and i don't like driving because of it, i always feel like i'm not a real adult because of it so hearing another adult talk and laugh about it is so comforting because it makes me realize i'm not the only one
I can't describe how much it means to see Kayla put a pride flag in each of the 2 kid/teen bedrooms. 🥺😊💖🏳️🌈 Thank you !
i really like the character in this house :) it feels like a real house, especially all the bedrooms. awesome work
Kayla while building a blue suburban: „I‘m trying to branch out!!!“
Driving anxiety is very common.
thank you for representing the non-binary community kayla
I played an entire generation in this house when it was brand new on the gallery
WE LOVE THE NON-BINARY/TRANS REPRESENTATION
Remember that it will get easier!
kayla putting the non-binary and trans flags makes me so happy to be represented :)

Im so happy you're making a Newcrest rebuild! I love that neighborhood but I'm way too lazy to build it myself and sadly most builds on the gallery don't fit my needs / aren't my style.

Love your driving story. Just had a conversation with my brother about conquering fears. Very inspiring! 🙂 keep up the good work and the amazing builds in the world of The Sims! And keep smiling ☺️. (It's a great smile)
I have been scared to drive ever since I was in a car accident. Then after I had my son I was in another one and broke my neck and a couple ribs. After that I was scared to even get in a car for the longest time. I am ok with that now but haven't driven for over a decade now.
I love your driving updates. I have pretty bad anxiety from driving as well and it helps knowing I am not alone ☺️❤️
