Instead of hot gluing the top on you could add another row to the green part after the SC 10 into the magic circle and just SC around in the back loops only and it will create a ridge for you to use to attach to bottom
@@AmiguWorldOfficial For my own strawberry i decide zo make the green part at first with one round only into the front-loop of the stitches, and than i crochet the red main part directly into the unused backloops of theese stitches. And a tip: Use yellow or brown yarn and sew little lines into the red surface to create the seeds on the skin of the berry. like here: th-cam.com/video/clqzd_CoEPs/w-d-xo.html
