    Good to see what you guys use, it has just confirmed that what tech we have started to gather for our kit on the road, should serve us well. Just need to learn how to use it all 😂😂 Thanks guys.

    Some great tips on this episode thanks very much, especially filming and editing in 2.7K rather than 4K! I wouldn't have had a clue!
    I'm sure all your viewers will agree we do appreciate the info you show us and the quality and time taken to produce all of your episodes.
    I'm just waiting for Apple to release their new Macbooks so I can upgrade for our trip. Meanwhile, I'm blogging away until I can start using editing software and producing episodes.
    Do you use dead cats on your go-pros? I just bought the GoPro clip on one and wonder how it performs when filming and editing to reduce wind noise?
    Cheers Annette

    • @StaycationOz
      @StaycationOz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and commenting Annette! Macbooks would be perfect for video editing, our laptops just aren't powerful enough to constantly work in 4K (although all our drone footage is shot in 4K). We do use dead cats sometimes, generally when we use our rode mics or we have one on our new GoPro HERO9, but in alot of these places its so windy they only help so much. Also we usually don't watch back every time we film, so sometimes we only realise how windy it is once we starting cutting the videos and watching back the footage! Thanks for watching!

    Hi guys, the drone footage is amazing. Do you normally set the drone to a certain height particularly when you are tracking something like the car?

    • @StaycationOz
      @StaycationOz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! It depends where we are and what we are filming, almost all of the time we film up to the limit of 120m. When tracking we generally go lower to make sure the car or whatever we are tracking is close! Thanks for watching!! 👍👌

    Chris & Hannah, what a fantastic episode. i'm nearly about to buy the DJI MINI drone !! i'm really interested as i thought i might film some of my bike trips. so question (typical) on your choice of adobe? were you previous users? did you assess any alternatives? how hard is it to learn?

    • @StaycationOz
      @StaycationOz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea get one, they are great!! They can even track you, so put it up, set it off and it will follow you as you ride!! Chris had an Adobe subscription already and it had everything we needed / reasonably good feedback, it’s not hard to learn, a few how to videos on TH-cam and you’ll pick it up pretty quickly!! 👍👍

      @@StaycationOz i'm going to rephrase these as "Hannah and Chris" - he does all the talking and you do all the editing!!!

      Hahaha I (Chris) do most of the comment reply’s 😜 and some parts of the editing! But Hannah has more patience than me to do the editing!!

    Thanks for the info, interesting. Have you used the Apple final cut? If you didn't already have Adobe freely available, what editor would you go with if you had to buy? Safe travels.

    • @StaycationOz
      @StaycationOz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Amanda. We haven’t tried any other editing software. I do have a friend who uses Final Cut and says it’s great, but not tried it myself. I think a lot of the editing software is very similar.
      We do like the Adobe software because we get access to the other apps too, like Photoshop, After Effects, Lightroom, so we’d probably still sign up to that even if we didn’t already have it.
      Otherwise we’d likely check out some editing software comparisons on TH-cam and make a decision.
      Hope that helps, Hannah ☺️

    Hi Chris & Hanna, I’m in the process of buying my first drone, l was wondering, when you set it up to follow you ( In the car ) how does it come back to you, when you’ve changed your home position?
    Regards Neale

    • @StaycationOz
      @StaycationOz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there!! When we follow the car and we leave the drones home position you’ll just have to land it at your new position, so return to home won’t work, otherwise it will fly back to where you started!! You might be able to update the home position, but it’s easy enough just to land it somewhere flat at your new location! I’ve landed it the Rangers tray a few times… very handy as a landing spot haha!

      @nealer8213 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh ok 👍 Thank you very much for the reply, much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your trip, looks fantastic. My wife said to say, very brave of you both, as you have never towed anything before. 😂👍

    • @StaycationOz
      @StaycationOz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha yea we’ve learned a lot this year that’s for sure, first time towing was pulling the new van out of the dealership lol!! Also I checked our drone, you can update the home location once it’s in the air, which will help when following the car and needing to land!

      We both have Dell, Hannah has a Inspiron 5505, AMD Ryzen 7 2.00Ghz with 8Gb of RAM, Chris has an XPS15 i7 2.60Ghz and 16Gb Ram, so both reasonably decent laptops! Hope this helps?! Thanks for watching!!
