I'm very much into the Off-Grid lifestyle. My wife is five years from retirement, and we have talked about traveling a lot for about 2-3 years after that. I personally want to do a build similar to yours, but for myself, I would go a bit more spartan. That being said, I think you have done a WORLD CLASS BUILD! The woodworking is FABULOUS! Have you considered putting a couple of flat Solar Panels on the roof for power in the boondocks?

Just saw a nice sprinter conversion of another couple yesterday on YT. They had a gap in the middle of the bed to double as benches along the sides, like you guys. But, instead of having wood backing for the seat cushions along the wall, the backing was a nice, long dinner table mounted on a pistoned support pole that pushed down (like a toilet paper spool) into place and locked, for the cushions to go back on it for the bed. Brilliant!
Just took the first step and bought a nice tiny small home camping rig, can't wait for the first adventure with it but it will be the next four months just setting it up to live in and drive around reliably.

Cool van love all the personal touches and the beautiful wood work you did an amazing transformation. More and more people are going small with happy results - you two are very smart not to settle down into the matrix. As long as you got wifi life is good.

Would love to have this with my husband and my dog ! Travel , nature , freedom ! Started pillion riding with him two years ago within and outside India and now the job and still life at home suffocates .Want to be on the road all the time ! If you have health and grit ,and of course whatever money you require , it is a great life ! But not out of compulsion ,only choice .

Just like you said, your gonna make mistakes but that's how we learn and move forward in a positive way. Embracing uncertainty is having faith that you will reach your goal. all my life i have been saving up my money to get a van and live in it and i finally made it happen know i have been to 48 out of 50 states it makes my lifs so much better being able to go and surf and skate
I love the build out, such a thing of beauty. I'm about to build out a third van, but for the most part they are not a home. They are quite boring in all honesty. I want to do something to the likes of yours. Kudos on the walnut slabs, favorite lumber to work with. Enjoy!
