Everytime we go to conventions, we teach sabacc a ton of times and have been able to really simplify it and make it really easy to get new players up and going.
I have some specific questions I was having a hard time determining the answers to in my research. If you know this and can help it would be appreciated. 1.)How many cards at a time can you freeze in the interference field? 2.) can you call alderaan and freeze a hand equaling sabacc to protect from a shift? 3.) If you freeze a card can you still draw or draw and discard after that? 4.) can you throw away multiple cards as long as you draw the same amount or is it one card at a time
I guess the whole aspect of making it to 23 and not going over is very similar to Blackjack, where you gotta make it to 21 but you can’t go over, or you bust/ lose
Even though I’ve bought the official licensed one, yknow thr one from Galaxy’s Edge I’d also like to have the traditional variant. Can it be found in stores or only online? If so, where?
Technically a traditional sabacc deck is a tarot deck where you ditch all of the major arcana cards except for two copies apiece of The Fool, The High Priestess, Strength, Justice, Death, Temperance, The Devil and The Star, so the fastest way would be to get two copies of a specific style of tarot cards and go from there. The guys behind this video do sell their own versions at their website.
The only thing I don't like about the vanilla sabacc rules are that there aren't more special hands, just two for a 76 card deck feels like a massive rarity to obtain. I guess more could be worked in, though they'd have to be house rules agreed upon by others.
Here’s my question: You said negatives beat positives. Let’s say my opponent had a hand on 10 and I have a hand of -5, does that mean my hand beats my opponent’s hand?
No it wouldn’t, so a -5 would beat a positive 5 but a 10 beats a -5. Think about it as you are trying to be the closest to 23 or -23 and if there is a tie then the negative person wins
@@trentonamor Ok, thanks for clearing it up. It was something something I was thinking about in regards of getting the closest to 23 or -23. It was just something that was gnawing at me.
this background is THE coolest thing
This is very help. The written rules make enough sense but this video is significantly more helpful. Thanks!

Yeah Emily & Mike!! Crushing the production quality :) This will be a great way to quickly bring friends up to speed.
Thank you so much! It took a lot of work, but we're really hoping to up our TH-cam game and start releasing more videos.
This is the best explanation of game I have seen. Look forward to checking out your other videos. MTFBWY
Such a great resource! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
This Awesome. Know I can learn to play real Sabacc. Thank you for this video!😃👍🏾
Thanks, we're planning on doing videos for other Star Wars in-universe games in the near future.
Sounds fun. Pretty sure with my luck I'll always bomb out, but I will absolutely love to play this

think I'm going to need a few practice hands before I can get my head into it
Yeah, that definitely helps! Send the video to done friends and then you can practice together.
I was watching this and i just realized my first hand was fairy empress

52/54 card poker only REALLY has Royal Straight Flush for an automatic winning hand.
I'd say 2 for a 76 card deck is proportionate.
A little different from what West End Games had put out back in the day.
