I got a 4 star youth player through on a save with Groningen and he turned out to be the best player in the world, thats never happened before or since. Its an amazing feeling. I would sign up the unambitious player. Use him as a test to see how much it affects their development.
Your 4 star prospect is 150 star legend for his non league danish team. If his players are not getting 5 starts it usually means they will not make it
On every Youth Academy Challenge I have attempted (around 8 now over the past 3 FM's) unless you are in the top division with good facilities, team leaders with brilliant personalities, its almost impossible to change it unfortunately.
Sign Rasmussen. Mentor him with your best personalities, and hard focus his vision through the passing training option. Technique, work rate, first touch, flair, decisions, bravery are all excellent. Passing, positioning, off ball, marking, tackling, all good for his age too. Natural fitness good so his physicals should go up at a good rate. He could be a monster midfielder in a few seasons. He could be winning the ball and leading the counter before the opposition knows what hit them.
I tried basically exactly that and his potential just kept slipping from 5 to 4.5 and then 3.5 unfortunately, he did look very promising though!
I wonder if it would be worth it to train one of those 4 star strikers to shadow striker as they both have good passing
It definitely would, good idea!
Use him as a cash inject to build further facility upgrades. Develop him until he is wanted and then cash in

Im new to FM but i follow the assistant managers guide on what playing styles to use e.g gegenpress but every few months he reccomeneds wing play instead of tika taka and then reverts back to tiki taka. Should i change or stick with the original 3 recommendations?
I would stick to what you want to play, I rarely, if ever listen to the assistant manager on FM!
There are a lot of left-footed players through in this intake. Is there a reason for it or just pure RNG?
I think its just pure RNG!
I would sign Kevin. Another one you might be able to sell in a couple seasons. More money should improve the chances to go professional

Wow! Never even had a 3 star current potential player, 2 4 star players is unreal. I hope you can keep hold of the striker as he’ll be your striker until the end I’m sure of it, he’s that good. Regarding inverted wing back, as all my best players through the youth are midfielders I’m currently using double inverted wing backs with a DLF in DM, creating 3 central DM’s when I have the ball. In front of my DM I have 3 central midfielders all on attack with 2 up front. The tactic for me is working wonders, sitting on the top of league two, 10 points clear in my first season and I’m 75% through the season, I don’t have any striker in the top goal scorers list but I’ve still scored the most and conceded the 3rd least in the league smashing most of the other stats. Everything from goals to assist gets distributed so much it’s great to see - may also be beneficial for your striker so he doesn’t stand out too much, maybes set him as a false nine for now?
Thats a really good idea with the IWB's. I have that many midfielders I may have to do the same thing!
