I get SO tired of the covers of this that treat it like a Whitney Houston song, when instead it's so much powerful when it's sang quietly with tears in between verses.

He was truly my best friend and was in my life since I was 12 yrs old, (and I just turned 43 a few days ago.) So without him...I am utterly broken and totally lost and, I only go on because I KNOW he would want me to try hard to. I also discovered Dancing in the Sky about a week after I lost him so after I finish typing this comment, I'm going to check out his cover of it that you mentioned. Just wanted to thank you for your comment and let you know that although I'm a total stranger...I fully understand the unbearable pain of this kind of loss. Sending love to you from NY. ❤

Loved going then and as I got older understood the presence of God upon one, did some shoutin and praising his name as well. Brandi TV his vocals gives my cold chills. This song was designed to break you down, and it does, Everytime I hear it. I don't know what it is about this song but I tear up Everytime i hear it. But by my opinion, I think it is best performed by a FEMALE artist. Maybe it's just the female voice. I don't know, but a female to me, seems to make this song tender and with even more emotion. My favorite cover I've heard is here on TH-cam of a young girl and a man sitting alone on some steps and she is performing this song in its entirety. Very emotional. The only other song that brings me to tears is a song called "letters from war" by an artist name Mark Schultz. But the reason for that one is because I can personally relate. You should check it out.
