Their is a fun one in Binghamton Ny called Robot City, It has a huge arcade attached to the video game store. Also In October retro game con in Syracuse NY which is a great time !

My brother bought me an Intellivision plug and play controller with 20+ games, I never played the games before and the graphics are crap but really pretty fun.
If you are still in the NY area, we have a lot of cool ones. Retro Source in Farmingville (which also has a ton of neat 80s and early 90s nostalgia and designs), the Video Game Trading Post which has numerous locations around the island (huge selection of games), Flashback Gaming in Northport (a small, cozy store with lots of great high-end games and super friendly owners), and East End Gaming in Oakdale (which also carries videogame vinyl, Pokemon cards, and has a big selection too)
I used to work there for a couple of years from 2019, through the pandemic and left in July 2021. It was just the owner and I absolutely crushing it! Scott is a really great guy and is a very fair owner and businessman. Great store and location! I absolutely miss being there but now I’m down in GA. They have an excellent eBay, Amazon and Shopify store as well! Support your local businesses! So happy they got a shout out on your channel Mr. Riggs!
seemed like good people to me. My booth was across from theirs at Long Island expo.
I lived in Whitestone for my whole life up to 2 years ago. I’m good friends with the owner of the store, it’s a really great store. They moved once and have renovated that store twice I think.
Some of their prices are a little high but the connivence and selection is exceptional

I once took a bus trip to long island when i was 15 to meet up with people i played counterstrike with..fell asleep on the bus woke up didnt know what stop I was at got of at a gas station in queens..knew I did not belong there lol. This was also like 20 years ago. But the store looks awesome
I watch Pop N Games' unboxing videos of games in order to see what they come included with, and if the DLC is on the disc. Cool to see the actual store.
Yeah they are a great resource. Especially to see if there's a manual. Rarities nowadays.

Seeing the Toki collector's set made me smile. I grew up with the NES game and was so happy to find out they updated it.

That critique about stores not having prices is so true and so annoying...
One of my local ones literally just looks ebay prices in front of you as soon as you pick up the game.
That is very scummy practice, you cannot make calculations while you pruchase, make educated decisions, once you are up in the front and there is a line behind you, you are suddenly socially pushed into buying a game for a price you wouldn't pay before. Put pricetags in all of your products!

When I was watching this, for some reason I had a really weird "sense memory" of the smell of the video game section of the public library I used to rent games from when I was a kid in the 90s.
Nice vid 👍 There's a tiny little con this sat by me & my son wants to go. I'm pretty broke bc it was just my anniversary last Sat but idk. We don't get many around us so after watching this we'll have to go.
No need to buy anything, so many cons have free-play areas and more. Browsing games can always be fun, too, just to see what's out there.

I used to always buy the copy of a game that they did an unboxing vid with because it would be at a discounted price, but they don't seem to be doing that anymore! :(
I buy games from Pop n Games Ebay store. Even though they are New York their shipping is craxy fast 0_o. I usually get my games in 2 days. And I'm in California. Shipping in my own state takes 4 to 7 days to get a package.
Was that before or after you went to the LI retro convention? My friend always goes to that location in Queens.

700 bucks for Rule Of The Rose and it's not even very good! Blimey, no wonder game collecting has taken a nose dive. Nobody can afford it! Such a shame and exploitative as the original creators of the game do not get one red cent of the profits.

Just made a com.e t on UT video in Levitown I live I huntington if ur in long Island again got to Flashback retro in east northport I live in east northport which is a town of Huntington L.I also Video game trading post in Tanger outlet in Deer park and Game On in Smithtown they are a must also Game On opened up an arcade in Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove which is not far from Game On in Smithtown its the next town up
