    Your brand of travel journalism is phenomenal. I appreciate that you showcase parts of the locale that are rarely seen. I appreciate that you give us insight into the historical significance of the places you visit with your best efforts to offer the perspective of the people that live there. And I truly enjoy that you don't mind showing your movement between locations. I feel like I get to see the places you visit, not just the tourist spots.

    “Hapikle” is a portmanteau of the words “happy” and “Bikkle,” a popular milk beverage in Japan that will remind you of both yogurt and sweet probiotic drinks. This canned chu-hi beverage only has 3% alcohol content, so you don’t have to worry about getting a hangover. You can't go wrong with the balance of sweetness and milkiness in every sip!
    Sounds interesting! I will have to look for this one at the local asian markets.

    @5:25 Scritches! There are other things that bring me joy, just not as much as this. When cats flip the switch and take over the world, they'll pause (paws?) at Matthew.
    "Not that one," they'll say, "he gave scritches 'round the world."

    You are amazing... Efficiency be damned! Congratulations on your crosswalk marathon. Loved the map at the start... maybe checking back in on it or showing the way you intended to go but didn't or calculating how far you actually had left to go every time you said we were halfway there... lol. Stray dogs and cats are definitely a theme... maybe these could be highlighted in the edit.. Little paw prints across the screen... "Furry Find" or "Wondering Whiskers." Can we indiscriminately name the animal? On the recap, today we met Thomas and Phillis... odd that we meet so many Philliseses. I also desperately want to see you awkwardly holding your recording device while talking to people... asking them questions about life. Matthew, make sure to stay hydrated... where are we going next? Excited to see.

    Hi Matthew, newer subscriber here and glad to see a new video in Taipei Taiwan. Can tell that you enjoy walking, as it seems like every video you sure get in your steps for the day. I enjoy your Pop In The Bar portions as you alway describe what you are trying very well. We can almost taste it. Wanted to say how much I enjoyed your Kosovo series and so glad you captured the footage of that cute dog Prince and trying the Goulash with the guy from the hotel. Enjoy your British accent and determination so looking forward to more videos of Taiwan.

    I really enjoyed this. We do these kind of lunatic walks when we go abroad. Of course, now a bit ancient and with an artificial hip I might be slowed up a bit, but it won’t stop me trying. Shame about the lack of Elephant Mountain View’s or lack thereof. But at least you got there. We climbed Mount Fuji over two days and I know there are extensive views from the summit and a ma-hoo-sive crater, but only because I saw it in a postcard. Actually being there you could barely see a hand in front of your face. But we made it. I have a photograph of me and the missus at the summit looking less than thrilled and very, very wet to prove it. (Our tipple of choice on that trip was the enticingly named ‘Pocari Sweat’).
    P.S. Incidentally in the park with the stone path, to maintain conceptual continuity to quote Frank Zappa, I like to think that’s Paula rolling about on it in the background.

    • @YesLandTravel
      @YesLandTravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, it. would have been great for Paula to have been here with me. And I think we are like minded for sure, climbing Mt Fuji is on my list for Japan no question! Thank you Ian

    • @ianpark1805
      @ianpark1805 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YesLandTravel Oh yes, do Mount Fuji, definitely. It’s not a ‘wilderness experience’ by any means. Something of a procession to begin with, lots of large huts (one of which will be your overnight stop so you can rise at stupid o’clock to be on the crater rim to see the dawn come up, as is tradition), a fantastic display of a multitude of head torches heading up path in the dark, young Japanese gulping air from canisters (yes, they sell you a bottle of fresh air if you think you want it - slow paced climbing avoids the need for this rip off!) and a parade of shops on the crater rim beyond the massed ranks of the video cameras set up on the rim to catch the sunrise. You can buy a wooden walking staff at the bottom (or at ‘Fifth Station’ where nearly everybody starts) which you can get branded at several shops/huts on the way with the kanji for the stop/station, with the final one being on the summit crater rim. I’m a bit sad I didn’t invest in one of these, but hey, I’d brought my own metal ones!
