@Lego Spongebob Minecraft & More You know that Nintendo left them Bankrupt by late 2001, right? Nintendo was the reason Rare was looking for buyers. They wouldn’t buy them out or help them in ways similar to Pokémon or HAL.
Banjo Kazooie and Tooie are some of the best games of all Time. I'm always coming back to them all the time!

Banjo Kazooie was my first video game! I have lots of memories with it along with Tooie! To this day I still love them! The music in both games is memorable, the levels, everything! When I heard about Nuts and Bolts, I was excited because I thought it was just another Banjo game. I was wrong, I was disappointed that the whole collectathon thing was gone. So I didn't really bother with it. Then I heard about Yooka Laylee, it was a decent game, but there were some things I didn't like: The worlds are a bit too big. It could just be me, but I like the smaller worlds like Mario Odyssey has. Another problem was the NPCs. In Banjo, the NPCs were different in every world, but still memorable. In Yooka Laylee, they're memorable, but it's annoying that they are just copy-pasted on every world. I also didn't really like the transformations. Instead of fun, the transformations were tedious to control. Other than that, I liked Yooka Laylee. Great video on sharing your experiences with the Banjo series! They sound just as good as my experiences! And I hope one day we will get the true Banjo Threeie... But Banjo Kazooie will always be my favorite game! :D
Yeah the re-pasted Yooka-Laylee NPC's was a big issue for me, especially after Rare (owned by Microsoft) did the same thing previously with Nuts & Bolts. the NPCs in Banjo-Kazooie games are some of the best parts, they cant just be repastes.
don't forget that they added a working stop n' swop where you can use your safe file from banjo kazooie in banjo tooie and then for nuts n bolts in the xbox arcade version
it was a small detail which gave you some bonus parts but i really liked that
I used to play it as a kid, but I don’t remember much about that, but in 2016 I played it again through the summer right after my father passed away and now I have fond memories of playing it and feeling better.
I didn’t even know today was the anniversary!
Now to wait for them to come to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

I played this in 6th grade. We had one for an after school activity program and either they got this game or someone brought it with them. I loved Mario 64 and thought this was a knockoff Mario. I kept saying Mario was better but I secret did like BK. It was unique and didn't take itself too seriously. There was a charm to it. To this day I casually play though it and and going though it for the first time on the Xbox.
i got banjo kazooie from my dad. i can still remember getting to his place and seeing him playing it (i still have that save file). my time with tooie was hiring it from the video shop down the road from me. a year ago i got the game from ebay and still play it from time to time. never played nuts and bolts ca zi don't have a xbox
I'm gonna be honest I didn't enjoy this game when I was little and still now I just don't find it fun. But I can appreciate how much effort and love that went into the game.
How fitting would Banjo kazooie be in the smash ultimate roster? Would be doing banjo and the fans justice imo....
They have such a great movepool to pull from for attacks, plenty of possibility for taunts, levels, assist trophies, etc.
I only did one vote in ballot and it was banjo, my dream in smash bros :(
Wade Brand I also hope they make it in Smash Ultimate as a "once-in-a-lifetime"-opportunity. After all, they are very much known from the beginnings on nintendo consoles and are considered "pseudo" nintendo characters, just like Sonic
They're definitely a part of Nintendo history with what they stand for. No N64 collection is truly complete without at least 1 Rare title.

Wow... It's been 20 years since Banjo-Kazooie came out... I still enjoy that game in its entirety.
Also, I got my Driver's License on the 20th anniversary too. :)

This series is close to my heart and has a lot of good memories and they are probably my favorite games of all time next to the timesplitters series and the persona series. I remember getting kazooie when I was 5, but it was too difficult to complete. Finally beat kazooie and tooie when I was 13. I still complete both games every few years and this video made me want to play it again so I guess Ill do that soon. Thanks for the video, it made me feel a lot of nostalgia !

I never played Banjo-Kazooie or Banjo-Tooie (Bacause I wasn't old enough). But I have fond memories of playing Banjo-Kazooie Nuts&Bolts as a kid.

Banjo Kazooie is one of (if not the) best 3d platformers, the first game I ever 100%, and will always have a special place in my heart. I love how connected the worlds are in Tooie. Also, imo, Nuts and Bolts is a phenomenal game.

Nice video, dude! Even though I like the banjo kazooie series, I wouldn't call myself a fan. Out of all the games that I've played my favorite is nuts and bolts, because it I feel banjo kazooie was too linear in a sense, and banjo tooie tedious to get jiggies and explore worlds. Nuts and bolts, I enjoyed it because it put more emphasis on exploration and you could get most jiggies in a challenging and fun way, while still going through the world at a decent pace
I totally understand why you'd like Nuts & Bolts... though I'd say it doesn't put an emphasis on exploration, since the worlds are empty aside from mission NPCs.
DPadGamer yeah that's true, but when you look at the size of the worlds from an ariel view, you'd be surprised how big they are
Oh, they're definitely big but one issue I have with Nuts & Bolts is that they're mostly empty. Any challenge is instanced in missions, making the worlds themselves barren.
DPadGamer I definitely remember my little sister playng for hours without progressing in the story in any way, shape, or form.
My cousin introduced me to Banjo-Kazooie.That game deserves a remaster and a proper 3.

I'll never forget the day my Father told me he got me an N64 and a bunch of games with it and opened the trunk of his car to show it to me. This game along with others such as Mario 64, Star Fox 64 and others made my childhood just seem magical and occupied my time being I was an only child. I managed to get every single note and Jiggy on a save file at a young age and I'm glad to show this masterpiece to my younger siblings and have them experience it too. Banjo Kazooie forever

I remember what it was like when i first played Banjo-Kazooie games, a lot of fun, mystery and adventure, an I just loved all the quirky stuff the characters have to say, like with Kazooie for example, how she as a character is sorta mean to other characters just to make fun of them. Like in the first game of Banjo-Kazooie, Kazooie in one piece of dialog she refers to Bottles as JamJars, which was pretty much foreshadowing a future character to the series in Banjo-Tooie and makes fun of him for living in a Silo like Bottles, even though he lives in a mole hill. -- Playing through each world felt like a mystery, and spooky like Mad Monster Mansion and Clanker's Cavern, which I think is the one that scared me the most, because of the giant metal shark.
If they had followed what they learned from Banjo-Kazooie (N64) and Banjo-Tooie and applied that to Yooka-Laylee it might of made some fans pleased with it. I've yet to play through the entire game myself, and I hope to stream that on Twitch eventually once I have my new PC setup. I'm considering doing one of those Banjo-Kazooie week long streams, playing each game start to finish as well as finding all the secrets in the game, and explore the worlds in detail.
One thing I should point out about Brentilda the fairy godmother, is when she tells you stuff about Gruntilda, the text that shakes are clues towards the end of the game that you need if you want to answer some quizzes correctly. I remember trying to write down everything she said just so I could use the notes for later, I had to explore everywhere I could getting all sorts of clues that I could get, because she tells at least 3 or 4 different things in different areas to help you on your quest.
This was a very neat video story time with dpad :)

I love playing these games just as much as Crash and Spyro. I wish THQ Nordic would acquire this franchise and put it on Multiple platforms, so Playtonic games can remaster Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.

I was born in the same year, but weeks later. I remember watching my big bro playing this when I was a toddler. During that time later, I myself actually started playing this (and Tooie), it was memorable and I loved it. All I do was mess around when I first tried it out lol. I also did played Yooka-Laylee on the PS4, it was decent but not that great.

I find it so weird, that I've been talking to everyone how I want Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate and I never even knew it was his 20th Anniversary, so many good memories from playing that game.

If I knew in any way, shape or form how to do TH-cam videos and quality ones at that, my personal history and love would be for the Mario & Luigi games, especially Superstar Saga. Apart from Fawful's Minion, I haven't really seen any one cover that franchise in massive detail which is a crying shame.
I'd probably love Banjo-Kazooie as well if I ever get the chance to play it.

What are your thoughts on Microsoft making an hd remake of the first 2 banjo kazooie Games? (Maybe nuts and bolts but prob not.) It can be kind of like the Crash Bandicoot N’sane Trilogy with hd graphics and maybe a new world.
Hmmm. I think that could be great. The NSane Trilogy is a fantastic HD Remaster, so if Banjo-Kazooie / Tooie were treated with the same level of care, HD Remasters would be amazing.

DPadGamer you are such a man of taste. You've described really well what i'm thinking about those games. Conker is a funny game but that's all, it's far inferior to B&K in term of gameplay. In my opinion DK64 is suck a pain game. Banjo & Kazooie 1 and 2 are probably my favorite games on N64, but if i had to choose only one game the 1st B&K is my favorite (especially because of all the mysteries about the hidden things around stop n swop, and also because of click cloak wood).
I've never tried Yooka so i cannot judge, but i think i would've shared your opinion.

I couldn't get my self to like the first game due to the fact that if you die once you have to go back and get all the note a lot of the level design is repetitive. But i think tooie is one the best games of all time
I getcha, I actually agree on that point about losing notes on death. Its brutal, which is why I really enjoy the XBLA / Rare Replay versions of the games, which in addition to improving them visually, made it so notes are collected forever. I believe it was a limitation with the original N64 hardware.

The only way we'd get BK in Smash is if a new game is announced for the IP. nintendo and M$ have been a bit more buddy-buddy lately, so improved relationships make the likelihood for BK getting in a lot stronger. But it's still a shot in the dark.
But, it's still greater than 0%. I waited 10 years for the definitive version of Tales of Vesperia. I waited 8 years after Super Metroid anticipating the next entry. I waited 10 years for AM2R to finally be completed. I can keep waiting for the return of the bear and bird I grew up with.

I played and loved Tooie but didn't play kazooie until a few years ago and I found it so goddamn frustrating having to collect all the notes in one go, and some of the missions like the one in the rusty Bay where you have to turn off the engine to get the puzzle behind the propeller. Fuck that mission
Yeah, if you want to give it another go, try to play the XBLA / Rare Replay versions of the game. They made it so notes are collected forever, so its more fair.
