- Juniperus Procumbens 'Nana' is a popular choice for bonsai due to its compact size and adaptable nature. It's a dwarf variety of Japanese Garden Juniper known for its low, spreading growth habit. When cultivating it as a bonsai, consider using well-draining soil, and ensure the pot has adequate drainage holes.
Regular pruning is crucial for shaping and maintaining the bonsai's form. Additionally, wiring can be employed to guide the branches into desired positions. Ensure that the juniper receives sufficient sunlight, as it generally thrives in full sun.
Keep a watchful eye on watering, allowing the soil to slightly dry between watering sessions. Like many bonsai, Juniperus Procumbens 'Nana' benefits from a winter dormancy period with cooler temperatures.
Remember, successful bonsai cultivation requires patience and attention to detail. Regular monitoring and adjustments will help you achieve a beautifully shaped and healthy Juniperus Procumbens 'Nana' bonsai.

To further enhance the health and aesthetics of your Juniperus Procumbens 'Nana' bonsai, consider the following tips:
Feeding: Provide a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the growing season (spring and early autumn). Use a fertilizer with a higher nitrogen content in the growing season to promote foliage development, and a balanced or slightly lower nitrogen mix in late autumn to encourage root growth.
Repotting: Repot your bonsai every two to three years to refresh the soil and promote root health. Spring is generally a suitable time for repotting. Trim back some of the longer roots during repotting, but avoid removing more than one-third of the root mass.
Pests and Diseases: Keep an eye out for pests such as spider mites or scale insects. Regularly inspect the foliage and treat any issues promptly. Ensure good air circulation around the tree to prevent fungal problems.
Wiring Techniques: Wiring is an essential aspect of shaping your bonsai. Use aluminum or copper wire during the growing season, but be cautious not to leave the wire on for too long, as it can bite into the branches. Remove the wire if it starts cutting into the bark.
Remember, each bonsai is unique, and adjustments to care may be needed based on the specific conditions of your environment. Regular observation and thoughtful adjustments will contribute to the long-term success of your Juniperus Procumbens 'Nana' bonsai.

Nice styling decisions here Callan and narration on why you're doing what you're doing
Thanks gav 👍
I love what you have done with your juniper, I'm loving the shape, you certainly won the challenge !!!
Thank you. But the challenge isn't about winning its more about the participation with the community 😊
I like your knowledge on how to sort bonsai tree. Thank you.
Thanks Wayne I look forward to updating
For not liking junipers you do very good work. I really like how you stilled it as a cascade.
Thanks Jay. It's not that I don't like them.. its more a love/hate thing 😅 but I really need to start giving junipers more attention
Keen as a beaver for this one bro
😂 not to much longer mate 😁
Nice buy on the juniper. Great to give it a shot on a tree that gives you trouble. I know how you feel. Sometimes a certain tree does not want to grow for you. So. We keep trying. Cup of tea and enjoying a great tutorial. I know that this tree will grow for you and become one of your masterpieces.
Thank you Tom. Hope you enjoyed the video. Some times we just need to be a little persistent. Junipers amd myself have a love hate relationship 😅
Wow this one looks interesting!
Thanks 😁👍
Thanks for this Callan - i could have watched a longer video and enjoyed it, i would also like to hear your decision making during the process but the voice over was ok. Nice looking tree at the end, look forward to seeing how it progresses
Thanks Scott. I am still working on my longer form videos its still a habit I'm trying to break in to since transitioning from instagram 😅 will be updating on this tree some point next year
Well executed start of a Juniper cascade, As someone who myself has recently snapped a big branch...i felt that one, but you made it through the better. 😎
Thanks Jon. Definitely a good start. I feel the large branch snapping was meant to be (or I'm telling myself that😅)
I can not wait to see this one 😁
Should be a good one 😁
Great value and I like your 'no nonsense' style of presentation. A budding bonsai starts its journey :)
Thanks xavier. I now have 3 options on what to do with this tree come spring.. il be thinking about that till then 😅
nice style do you have created. 20 bucks cool and very cheap. i like it.
Thanks Tom definitely a bargain. Should look really nice in a few more years 😊

Yes Dan you legend 👏 😁
Beautifull, nice job!
Thabk you 😁
Good way of working...
Is now a good time to prune and use wire for a juniper tree? I am in the Middle East and it is currently summer
You may perform some light pruning to allow light into the interior. At this time, wiring can be done throughout the year.
@@Rojin_Bonsai_Studio many thanks 🙏🙏
Hows the tree doi g. Any updates please
Will have an update soon. But I can tell you its now pushing new buds 😁
@@Rojin_Bonsai_Studio lovely job
