      It is SO hard to find good help these days.
      Poor Thrawn. The only one he truly trusted with any of his missions was Rukh.
      Too bad that *had he survived* Rukh was eventually going to be his biggest blindside and downfall.

      What I like about Thrawn is that he isn't even angry in the essence, just through his voice. He keeps his composure and is still quite scary. Timothy Zahn and Dave Filoni truly did write, respectively handled him well.

      @@oezibanana8664 It seems you haven't read the books. He chose to work with the Empire, when the alternative was to work to destroy it. In his analysis, the Empire was the "lesser of two evil outcomes."

      @@oezibanana8664 Thrawn was always against super weapons. He believed they were too expensive, and put too many resources in a single spot. He was also against destroying planets, because he believed that fear was the least effective way to rule, and destroying planets also meant destroying their ability to contribute to the future.

    6:20 It's kind of amusing how Chopper replayed a previous recording of Thrawn. I'm guessing that recording communications from the Empire is a rebel standard in case there is information they unwittingly left behind like background noise.

  • @SnuckleKandwich
    @SnuckleKandwich ปีที่แล้ว +36

    I feel like they did Pryce dirty in rebels she's supposed to be a help to Thrawn, as great as he is, he's hopeless politically as his brother was the politician. Pryce and Thrawn are both relative outsiders to the Empire, one is effective militarily but his methods are constantly questioned despite results, the other isn't great at war but knows the lay of the land politcally within the Empire. She is the only Imperial willing to work with him

    • @mish375
      @mish375 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I think that part of Thrawn's issues in the inner galaxy are more about culture shock than lack of skill. He can play politics when it suits him and when he's familiar with it; but, you're right, his brother was more skilled at it. You have to wonder how much his brother's death and the prolonged war affected Thrawn over time. It might have contributed to him becoming colder as time went on - and the Empire only encouraged that.
      As for Pryce, Thrawn despises her because she's hungry for power and will do anything to get it. He works with her because he has to, not because he wants to. If anything he'd prefer working with Pellaeon and Eli because both have individual skills he can use.

    Honestly, holograms in Star Wars often confuse me. The holograms that we see often seem to have more awareness of their surroundings than we do of the terrain on the other side. Thrawn can see a screen that Saxon is showing him, but we can't see anything but Thrawn.

    • @ekos8282
      @ekos8282 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      I believe in that particular case, thrawn would see saxon and when video started he would only see the video
      But are correct that sometimes holograms are confusing. In clone wars finale we can see darth mauk trying to watch over a reeling while he is a hologram.
      That is not how holograms work. Unless his hologram camera can fly and observe the surroundings XD

      When in doubt, any contradictions or not well thought out tech in Star Wars can be explained by, "it looks cool" or "space magic." In this case, "it looks cool" because being able to see the environment surrounding anyone using a hologram would look horrible and was also probably more difficult to do in the 1970s when A New Hope came out.

      The TIE defender project was much more practical and useful than the Death Star.
      The Death Star's purpose was to emit fear into those that would oppose them and keep them from ever taking up arms, but that was only on paper. In practice, the destruction of Alderaan just caused a massive surge of insurgency in Imperial territories and the so called ultimate weapon that was supposed to destroy the Rebellion ironically caused millions of people to join the Rebellion.

    • @stormbringer2840
      @stormbringer2840 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      The « fancy ship » was the nightmare of the rebellion. The deathstar was a weapon of terror but once destroyed was out of the picture for decades but they had no counters for tie defenders , those ship were better than anything the rebellion could throw ( x-wings comprised ) and an entire wings coupled with interdictor would decimate all the rebellion rather easily.
      Thrawn knew it , Vader knew it , heck even the rebellion knew it .
