im from Macedonia and i dont understand this languege at all but its so beutifull i know that is islandic but does it have some connection with some other languege or what are its roots ?
Icelandic is closely related to other Scandinavian languages (Danish, Faroese, Norweigian dialects, Swedish dialects, Elfdalian etc), and somehow slightly remote related to Germanic (≠ German) languages on the European continent (German, Dutch, Frisian, Luxembourgish etc.), English is also related to these languages but English has changed too much over time ~, I think in modern era, Faroese probably is the closet to Icelandic
