@@psychemarmante588 ,I know they're trying to foresee what will be the effect with the speech of the president. But tonality or the inclination of their reaction is "sana hindi ganon ang pagkasabi to prevent tension baka magalit ang china wala tayong laban".If our mentality is always like that as Filipinos. We will never be respected as a country. What the president did is very right or best in every Filipino.

Worst scenario, our country does not need ASEAN in the protection of our sovereignty and integrity. Instead, PBBM should work to establish a parallel multilateral defense partnerships with like-minded SE nations that are party to the SCS issue. Alliances with Vietnam, Brunei, and Indonesia should create a driving force towards this goal.

Too much democracy? Do people even know what that means? Filipinos don't even have enough freedom that other democratic nations enjoy. So, I guess, most Filipinos would rather have a weak leader who can't speak up against China bullying and claiming areas despite it being inside the Philippines' EEZ? Standing up for yourself doesn't mean it will lead to a war. It simply means that you aren't allowing another country to push you around so they can have access to resources that should be solely for the Filipinos. If China is allowed to take over that entire area, not only will the Philippines suffer economically but also environmentally. Filipinos will deal with the environmental impact when overfishing, dredging and oil extraction happens. Fishermen are already suffering from not being allowed to fish, now imagine what happens then. Who will give them a new livelihood? Definitely not the Chinese.

during pnoy Aquino... Asean and widodo they pressured Aquino to withdraw arbitral case against china.. but Aquino stand against them.. and Aquino said Philippines can have others way to protect philippiness territorial sovereignty without Asean.. he wanted to withdraw from Asean... Asean without Philippines can not have western support..it is impossible for Malaysia to have western support for being neutrality... example mynamar case. Asean never support Myanmar and china take advantages mynamar resources.. during pandemic indonesia without help from ted locsin cant have Pfizer COVID vaccines.. china is depending to Australians mineral resources.. believe or not.. because of western support many Asean countries are jealous to the Philippines.. Japan and US promise of 100 billions dollars investment.. Philippines and allied can survive without Malacca strait... even Google changes there submarine cable layout.. instead from east china sea passing to Taiwan strait going to south china sea or west philippiness passing to Pacific ocean going to america.. Google changes there new cable layout from south Korea to Japan going to Philippines sea in northern Philippines passing to Pacific ocean going to America..

So, what you're saying is, Filipinos can't speak up to defend themselves against China who is clearly bullying and pushing Filipinos to comply with what China wants? With your logic, The Philippines has no brain and is a pushover because Filipinos can't speak up. Just think, if China does whatever they want in the "disputed" area, even though the Philippines has the rights, do you honestly believe Filipinos will benefit? Fishermen can't even continue with their livelihood without being harassed. Imagine what's going to happen to them and the rest of the country if China starts militarizing the area as well as taking resources. It's not just economically but environmentally detrimental for the Philippines. Other nations who are also laying claim to that area are able to have a business relationship with China because they stood their ground. They didn't allow the Chinese to bully them.
