Holy shit NL your first 2 floors went almost flawless, you also foubd the secret room and waited to open the chest. I love and aprecciate this run now.
I don't know if they patched it, but im the rat room where the snake is behind the 2 locked gates, you could use one of the keys the rat drops to open one of the locks and "cheese it" by dropping an item as close to the second gate as possible. If they didn't patch it, this should wake up the snake and cause it follow you. Take the snake to the fifth floor boss for an interesting surprise.
An hour long video? Hell yes brother, let's GO Edit: That was a 5% chance to roll into the Prototype Railgun, talk about NL luck. Also, remember that time that NL talked shit about other streamers not being able to do Punch Out on the Rat fight and said that he would show everyone how it was done because he had "muscle memory" built up for it? Good times.
It was only good because he has explosive weapons, which don't suffer the damage decrease, and homing weapons which tend to hit regardless of where you aim them. For normal guns, scattershot is actively detrimental.
secret floor is worth it because it gives you extra money, consumables, and opportunities for better chests. it also gives you a guaranteed free item in the form of the boss item. It's like spending 2 keys for a decent item and 40 gold at the worst, which is still a good deal
Thanks for doing the Lich fight, NL! I completely understand not fighting it every time because the 6th floor is so long, but it's the perfect sendoff for a high-powered run like this one. 1 in 8 winning runs or so going to the Lich feels like a perfect balance.
Hey NL, a tip for the punchout phase. While you can dodge the punches and uppercuts by dodging to left or right, you can also just block or duck those. It's much easier to do consistently since you don't have to think about which side the attack is coming from.
NL mentioned the Iron Coin, which is actually an item that's significantly better if you never use it. Clearing rooms is okay, but you miss out on the money and drops, while just holding the coin gives you a 20% price reduction in shops and 2 coolness. It's a passive item that takes up the active item's slot.
-Turn these punchout losses in to atleast an Advanced Dragun run, take your key and feed the mini drake -You threw a master round down the drain a couple episodes ago, but you also need to throw 2 guns alongside it -I know your in to the rat, but the Paradox is a really fun character, with unlocks still to be had
So Ryan was talking about not being able to use his blanks because he needs them when he goes for the rat floor. Dont explosives like the grenade launcher allow you to use all of your blanks as long as you keep two explosives?
Nl when fighting the rat, he glows gold for a few frames. If you can hit him in those few frames his attack gets interrupted and you get more stuff. The attack with the brass knuckles cannot be dodged or blocked. and as such you need to hit him during his bold phases in order to avoid getting hit
You want to use the iron coin twice, because it lowers shop prices by 20% when held with any charges left at all. So in all honestly, use it twice on the floor you are having the most trouble with, then keep the last charge for buying shop items
Everyone seems to forget that siren makes the player immune to pits and ground creep. Taking damage on puzzle rooms centered around pits shouldnt be a thing when you have the siren.
Just because a gun is strong, doesn’t always mean it’s purely a boss killer. If you can flawless a whole floor using the powerful weapon then you’re off to a pretty good start. ie. switching from a powerful weapon to a starter weapon just to save ammo = higher chance of taking more damage.
Funny thing about rat fight is egg is making it harder than it should be. Left and right dodge are 100% useless. Back dodge and block is the only thing you need to avoid his attacks.
NL, I will join the masses in trying to convince you that the Oubliette is worth it ---> Think about Slay the Spire. Would you want to fight the Heart at the end of Act1? No, because you would get destroyed. You need time to power up by beating Act2 and Act3. The Oubliette is the same thing. It is an opportunity to gain more items/guns/keys/casings before facing tougher bosses.
NL you should consider not immediately opening brown chests even if they're free. That's because you'll want to "force gun" (or whatever its called) for the boss clear reward. Aside from the Sling, at least in my opinion, its not worth to get any gun from brown chests. You've got four bosses that you can force gun if you're having a hard time finding good weapons AND at least four chests from four floors. That's eight chances to get a great boss weapon to defeat the Rat. That being said, of course there'll be times when you'll want an item rather than another gun.
@@davidhong1934 If you don't get a gun on the floor before fighting the boss, you're guaranteed a gun from the boss. If you do get a gun before the boss fight, it could drop an item or a gun (I assume it's a 50/50 roll).
After him shitting on the table tech money for literally the entire first series him finally realizing that no, it's actually good and gives you 5 or more money on every room with tables, which is a lot, was satisfying.
One shot guns like the railgun are better for room clearing while spammable guns like brick breaker are better for bosses. Because you dont have to focus on charging and aiming. With few exceptions of course.
I think Austin only says flipping tables isn't great because he's a master of the game and can pretty much dodge everything at this point. I'm not amazing (can get to the dragun consistently) but sometimes when enemies spam shots, table flip can really save 1 or 2 hits

Feel like i got baited by the video length... i thought for sure he was going to beat the rat because why else would the video be an hour long? nope he was just super slow and fought the lich
Can we get some love for Daruma showing up for NL to redeem his past mistakes?
I beat agunim and advanced dragon and the rat because of daruma when I dodge roll I just spam the crap out of that active item button
If only he had been playing paradox. Please egg father.
One hour long run or two half-hour long runs? Let's find out!
6 10 minute runs as Judas where he dies to a champion in the 3rd room

The rat fight is really rad as a secret bossfight but what about THE OTHER secret bossfight that you didn't discover yet? mmh
*Eats the dragon's heart in one pass with the Gungeon Ant, continues to undervalue it*
NL, Great Ant Queen is considered S tier synergy and with Bee Hive it was probably the strongest gun you had.
especially good with his scatter shot
He says he doesn't think it's very good, but I'm pretty sure when he got it before, he just never really tried it. A bit frustrating.
He bodied the dragun heart with it and didn’t even notice!
I wish he used it much more especially since he had both synergies but other guns he had were strong too so its not that bad.
Its frustrating how dumb and pigheaded he is with what he thinks is good or not! He had one of the best guns and he didn't even try it.
Holy shit NL your first 2 floors went almost flawless, you also foubd the secret room and waited to open the chest.

There's a reason Bisnap just calls Daruma "Win button"
A REAL egg would have bought the table tech heat at the first-floor shop for the double table tech synergy
It really gets me when he goes “we don’t really have any guns we want to munch” but uses 2 guns all game. Super duper worked out this time though lol
And then discusses taking away 5 guns and still having a good run :)
You did not give the multishot passive any credit in this, and it really helped you out quite a bit (since you miss so much egg)

I really like these eps as they are, even the short ones, but there's just something about NL being happy with a run that makes me happy, too.
Why the hek NL disrespects the gungeon ant synergy?
Because he's trained to think the Gungeon Ant is bad
worst part of the episode for me, was waiting him to use it more cuz it only got better with more synergies but he kept using brick gun fsr
