    Can any of these controller work with only battery pack the motor and the throttle? I have a hub motor only, with HALL sensors but I don't have any other thing, so I really want to know if I can make it work if I buy a controller, a battery pack and a throttle. because one seller on Ebay told me it won't work, but I see on your video you only connected the throttle, the motor and the battery pack, the other connections are shorted on remained untouched.

    • @EVCustoms
      @EVCustoms  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For sure.. You can work with them, the rest is not necessary.

    • @KunioTaki
      @KunioTaki 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have any experience with overpowering? In therms every motor can work with any engine all you have to do is keep the motor cool. For example I have a hub motor which says max power 300 W (36 V), but I think it can work with a 96 V 1500 W controller. More voltage means more RPM and more amper means more torque.

    • @EVCustoms
      @EVCustoms  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jordán József Yes i have experience with overvolting hub motor.. 37v to 97v is to much difference.. if you have 36v 300w hub motor is 600watt max output for this motor for few minutes, you can try 48v 12A controller, like this you increase the speed but decrease the torque and efficiency..

    If it's a 24V 250W controller, does that mean the battery powering the bicycle has to be exactly 24V or a 22.4V battery with 10amps would still work?

    • @EVCustoms
      @EVCustoms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi friend.. the range of 24v battery must be from 18V minimum voltage of battery to 25.2V maximum battery voltage, this is running voltage of battery if is lithium battery pack. But you must see also Voltage range of controller to calculate your running range, All controllers have different ranges.. For 24V 250W motor you need double power to start the motor 500W, so you need 24V 20Amps max output from battery, controller 24V 10A normal and 20Amax for starting current.

    • @Enielm
      @Enielm 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      EV - Customs thanks for the quick reply. So will the 22V battery that I have be enough to operate this type of 24v controller in your video.

    • @EVCustoms
      @EVCustoms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes.. but you will not be able to use all capacity of battery, this way you can use only 60-70% because the controller turned off on 18-20Volts.

    Do you need a specific throttle cable/wires? Or could I just use the original one that came on my scooter, it also has three wires red, black and green.

    • @exgenica
      @exgenica 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the controller also uses 3 wires for the throttle input, then you may be good. It ASSUMES the manufacturer used standard connectors and wiring colors. Make sure any connectors match wire colors in the right sequence before connecting them or you could damage the throttle.
      The throttle uses Red=usually +5V (Vcc), Blk=Gnd, and Green=an voltage output that varies from 0 to Vcc as you turn the throttle, with Vcc being max throttle. Example, if Vcc=+5V then max throttle would show +5V between Green and Black.
      You can test the throttle independent of the controller by providing your own Gnd and +5V supply, and measuring between Blk and Green with a voltmeter or oscilloscope. The voltage on the green wire should SMOOTHLY change between 0 and +5V as you turn the throttle between min and max.
      Or, without any power applied to the throttle AND disconnected from anything else, you can check to see if you can read a smoothly increasing or decreasing resistance between Blk and Grn or between Red and Grn as you move the throttle. There should also be an unchanging fixed resistance measured between Blk and Red. I'm GUESSING it's about or less than 10Kohm, but it could be something else. It could vary with manufacturer. All the controller cares about is the voltage on the Green wire.

    By "Tree speed connector" do you mean "Three speed connector"? Is that just controlling the MAXIMUM speed, regarless of the PAS level on the display? also the self learning/reverse function, i still dont understand how to "set it" or use it after your video. ...maybe a bit of editing to add text explanation? thank you for this it does help with trying to understand a bit. another problem is the wire colors are not standardized for some features. Hey man, amazing video. Still, I would like to know if there's any controllers to drive a 250w (500w peak) 36 motor up to around 30 amp. It is a Xiaomi m365 that has a custom firmware (not Botox, something a bit stronger) that pulls sometimes 1600w when starting and cruise along around 800w continuous. The motor is fine, however power circuit on the controller melted under hard braking ( around 40 amps, which is way too much I know). I therefore would like an aftermarket controller to handle more power, what would you suggest with your experience? Thank you very much !

      some controllers have a speed limiter plug. Trying to figure that out on my own controller, to limit it to 750w

      Al Cle I fixed it now , you have to strip about an inch of wire off all ends then twist the wires together (red to red, black to black) then wrap in electrical tape

      You need special controller without hall sensor wires, or one universal controller witch can run without hall wires and with hall wires

      You can do that changing hub motor power wires, yellow, green, blue.

    Hello! 🙂
    I have a problem: I gave away the original controller for the Xiaomi 1S and installed a brusheless motor controller 24V/36V/48V 500W/750W current 26A and 48V 1000W aluminum motor. I opened the motor and looked at and counted the magnets, there are 30 magnets in the motor rim and 26 on the axle where the 5 Hall sensors are soldered. Ok, to my problem now: I installed everything and it works with the S866 Lcd Display Excellent! But !! If I stand on the scooter and drive away and press full throttle at about 5 km/h, then it drives up to 15-17 km/h and then the Gss goes out, so the engine is no longer running, so the BMS switches off! huh ?! But if I hit the gas slowly and faster up to about 30kmh then I can hit full throttle at 30kmh and it goes faster. OK. And if, for example, I get on my scooter and press the gas slowly and always press a little more, i.e. accelerate slowly and then at about 20 kmh then press full throttle, then it quickly drives up to 30kmh and the engine stops again and the gas doesn’t work anymore! So BMS switches off again!! But at home if I hold my engine up at the back and press full throttle it works!! Up to about 45-47kmh. And if I leave my apartment on the street and turn on the scooter and press full throttle then at about 12knh the engine shuts off and gas stops and at 5 kmh when it is down gas works again and if I immediately press full throttle again at 22kmh the engine stops and can no longer be switched on because the BMS is red! And it won't turn on anymore! Then I have to unscrew 5 screws on the front battery box on the street below and unplug the battery, wait 5 seconds, then the BMS is green again, then screw 5 screws again and drive on, but accelerate slowly! I still drive with the Stock Original battery: 36V + 7.5Ah. Is that not enough?? Yes, of couse! On Tuesday I get a new 12V 40Ah 40,000mAh additional battery for €280 German product! Then I drive in series to 48V + 48Ah!! But that with now that BMS always switch off when accelerating from 5kmh at 12-13kmh when I go full throttle!! Why is that please?! But when I'm not at the Scotter, full throttle works great at home without me! Can you PLEASE tell me why my BMS keeps turning off?! I PLEASE you! Help me with an answer why this is so. Or should I connect the 3 pin gas plug to the PAS 3 pin on the controller?? Kind regards. 🙂
