    Anybody notice the weird transition cut from the 3 pickup "The V" and the Historic Makeovers Explorer ?

    Calling that middle pickup cavity a "route" is an insult to routers. Its more of a crater.

    The back plastic was shower curtain, in keeping with the moto top.

    The toilet strat looked bitchin. On the L.P. I would've covered the knob hole with a piece of the toilet overlay, seems proper.

    Get a load of the figuring on the 50's Trans Fuscia demo/chipped unit on sweetwater right now. So pissed i cant afford it. It turns a polarizing color into a stellar win. If it looked as good in motion under trogly workbench lighting I'd be out there getting pay-day loans or putting a lien on the car.

I love your show, I’m a working player not a collector. I buy one Lester and one Strat per year. You provide a hell of a service🤘👍🤘

  • @FrehleyBurst9-1878

    Artist from the 1970s were never scared to modify their Guitars back in the day thinking that they might ruin the resale value as nobody thought that way back then. Collector guitars were not a "thing" back in those days and guitarist did do crazy modifications on guitars that we would NEVER think of doing today. Joe Walsh modified his EDS-1275 (Unknown year, maybe a special order from the early 70s) as his had a cutawy to access the lower frets on the 6 string side and he also removed pickup covers and switched up tuners to make the guitar both 6 strings at one point in time. Amazing that there isn't any official story from Joe or Gibson to set the story straight, it is a legendary guitar that survived being dropped on stage during the US Festival in 1983 and all the drug fuueled recording sessions back in the Eagles days.

    Big Ed has nothing to do with Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was owned by Big Ed Thompson and later by Rick Vito. The double guard v was owned by Big Ed’s brother Ople and later also owned by Vito.

    that MOTO LP looks like it was a brilliant fixer-upper but i think i gotta give it to that BEAUTIFUL aged explorer. that was a thing of beauty. BTW i just read that an original (one of the first in UK) Fender P-Bass was just discovered after laying under someone's bed for 50 years. i'd love to hear that story. *hint-hint*

    Bailed after the first few seconds. Ugly mess doesn't come close to a description; I literally was getting a nauseous feeling in 5 seconds realizing one greasy spoon diner is missing some counter top. Yuk. Now besides the usual Gibson crap tuneability, it matches that visually. I will sue you for assault if you ever show another crapfest like this. 👀

    First one remind me of a Godin radiator reissue lol

    • @Paul_Lenard_Ewing
      @Paul_Lenard_Ewing ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a low serial number first year 1999 Radiator. I swapped out the neck PU with a Duncan Pegasus PU, it was designed for Prog Metal and I use it so. I have a toaster style PU cover on it to keep with the 50's ascetic. The Radiator is a very close take on a 50's Magnatone MKIII guitar. The whole guitar is maple both body and neck. Except where the neck to bridge is the whole guitar is routed out. The only top it has is that huge pickguard. The neck has 24 frets and is almost as thin as an Ibanez wizard neck. Oddly enough the neck never moves. It never needs a set up. The neck stays as straight as a dime and the intonation never even needs a tweak.

    The back film resembles the tacky thin plastic some people would cover their books with in high school in the mid to late 80's instead of brown paper grocery bags or book covers you would get from the school supply store or the ones you'd get from recruiters, especially Air Force recruiters because freshman liked the picture of the F-16 on them and everyone else thought the Air Force slogan at the time was funny----AIM HIGH. Do they still cover school books?
