Easily one of the best overviews of the Overseas on TH-cam! Thanks for giving proper credit to VC as it’s own watch and not just an alternative or substitute for the Nautilus and Royal Oak. 👏🏼

How wonderful - a ‘review’ by someone who bought the watch, owns it, isn’t going to flip it and doesn’t go on and on about ‘investment potential’ etc etc. congratulations on the beautiful watch and your analysis of it.

Well over a year with it, prior to prices spiking on these, and have no intention of letting it go. I buy watches to enjoy them, not because of some "investment potential". Capital can be gained through other means - I dont want to ruin my passion for this hobby by focusing on value. To each their own however 🙌🏻

In my humble opinion, the oldest of the 3 members of the Holy Trinity, established in 1755.. The Vacheron Constantin Overseas, with the coveted Geneva Seal, (specially for me the 3-hand black dial) is the most elegant of the sport watches from these three houses.

You make a fantastic point regarding people rooting for the Overseas only because it’s the underdog. On similar comparison videos, you’ll see that the top comments often consist of people bashing the Royak Oak and acting like the Overseas is somehow head and shoulders above the AP.
I like both (but would give the edge to the RO because I’m biased), and those types of comments make me question whether or not those people have handled both in person.

I own a Girard Perregaux Laureato, and it's also always judged as an less expensive alternative, rather than a great watch on its own merits. I often hear that I got it just because I can't afford a RO, but in fact I could afford a RO, but I appreciate the GP more. The smoother look gives a dressier look and it's more usable due to the higher WR rating. Much like the VC!
Appreciate the video, great job 👍

This Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V is simply stunning! That blue is so deep! The way you can quickly change out the integrated bracelet to other straps is so convenient too.
I'm kind of shocked though that this doesn't have hacking in the movement. I also kind of wish there was text on the 6 o'clock to maybe balance out the text at the 12 o'clock, but that's more of personal preference on my end.

Having now own both the RO and the Overseas, both at 41mm, I'm actually surprised that I didn't like the Overseas more. Everyone says that VC is the more sensible brand, while AP is the more ostentatious, loud, etc. Who would have thunk that the Overseas is a bigger watch, and harder to pull off. The Overseas bracelet is way too wide with no taper, and the watch case is top heavy, with the top of the watch case being wider than the bottom, quite the opposite compared to most other designs. I always thought the Overseas would be the best of both worlds, going bracelet or rubber whenever I liked it, and it even has the quick micro adjust. But turns out it wears the worst (for me) compared to my 41mm RO, and 40 Nautilus (which came with the new quick adjust bracelet).

Do they both tell the time? Then they both work and are good. Casio and Swatch are in the same category.

We don't need a watch to tell the time since the late 90's when everyone had a phone in their pocket. A wristwatch is part of a gentleman's wardrobe, its about art and luxury.

First congrats! Second, love your points in being able to own both - it’s like owning two dive watches, just because they are in the same category doesn’t mean they are the same watch.
    Great video and congrats!

VC 4500 Bezel, looks like a Axle Nut for a Car!

The VC 4500v is 41mm in diameter and your AP RO is 37mm right? but looking at them next to each other at 6:58 I am amazed to realise that they look almost identical in case size?!?

Have the Royal Oak 15500 black dial and have the blue dial VC 7900 dual time. Love them both, but my VC has been getting more wrist time. I actually prefer the alligator strap, but use the rubber strap more often as I can pretty much wear it anywhere. One thing is that I have to disagree about it being being easier to get than AP and Patek. Remember VC makes only 20,000 watches a year. AP and Patek make over 40-50,000 watches per year. Thus at retail, it’s just as hard if not harder to get an Overseas. However, as it’s not as hyped, grey market prices are lower.

Is this VC blue dial easy to obtain from a AD or will there be a waitlist ?

Very different take to the review watch gringa posted on her channel recently!... Great shots and insights; that movement is beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️

I recall you had smaller wrists, the VC OS be too large for you due to its lug to lug? Some more wrist shots and wrist specs would have been great. Great video!

6:42 Is the 41mm Overseas really almost the same size as the 37mm Royal Oak? Lug to lug looks so similar in length.

Beautiful with the rubber strap .... AP, PP and VC, are all as good as each other, but in different ways .... In 2016, I went out to buy a Limited Edition AP, that just didn't look like anything PP or VC did and still doesn't, so I suppose my RO, OS, QE II Cup, Hong Kong 2016 Chronograph in Pink Gold, Forged Carbon and Ceramic is still on its own ....

I feel the Overseas is the best of the 3 you mentioned. And on top of it, I like the fact most don't know VC like AP or PP. It's not about having to flex, but being able to and only those of us obsessed in horology would know. Now if I could justify it without having to sell my entire watch collection to buy one lol! Great review!

  • @MrPINKFL0YD

It's a nicer looking watch than the royal oak in my opinion, due to the depth of colour on the dial. The overseas looks fantastic on all of the provided straps. Congratulations on you purchase, may you wear it in good health!

my only concern is that I don't trust VC with the next Gen 4 Overseas will change and the gen 3 will look dated as with the royal oak we know that the design is timeless and will never change.

congrats mate, VC to me is one of top 3 watch makers, period.
even though i like models with chrono, power reserve and more complications than what you purchased, i still think you bough an amazing watch!
i'm a hardcore VC fan so its unfair for me to compare, i'm going to be bias whether i want it or not..
VC/PP/AP are the top 3, idc which is your favorite, if you walk to the AD and find something that catches your eyes.. get it.. dont give any shit about what people think..
cheers and gz again for the amazing purchase.
side note "no one makes more beautiful blue dials than VC.. NO ONE"
