@@SwizzleDrizzl It's actually the same thing. It used to just fly around the map at speed so high it was impossible to spot it. 0.8 changed it's behaviour to mimic the door, making it the 4th Crashman.
I think in the last clip you were able to pause the game. If you did so, you would have also noticed quickly, that the shadow guy does not care if the game is paused.
dudeee i was watching my partner play votv 0.8 once, and they got that shadow man event, WE WERE ACTUALLY TERRIFIED. scariest experience of the playthrough, and we have not returned since :D
For me personally it reminds me of a highly charged tesla orb in Space Station 13. As for what it actually is, I feel it could possibly be some sort of progenitor entity to the wisps.

as far as I know, that shadow guy at the end is very rare he basically always chases you while going through walls and will attempt to keep it's height same as you, it will still move even if you pause the game and getting caught result in your game crashing

No. Pitchblack darkness with floating high beam headlights is still in the game and can occure even on week 1. That was something different.
