NC500 Day 7. Scourie to Shegra Crofter’s Campsite.

- The Slaws left Scourie campsite in their Hobby motorhome Helga @HobbyCaravan with their two Lhasa Apso dogs Billy and Jessie.
It’s a direct route today to the Crofter’s campsite at Shegra beach to relax and sunbathe then watch the sun set.
Loving you NC 500 footage. It’s fabulous. We live in the East Coast and waiting for a weather window to pop over again. ⛰⛰⛰⛰👍

Unfortunately it seems that since you visited, the campsite is now restricted to tents only. No camper vans or Motorhomes now ☹️

@@mrsslaw9242 thanks, I just watched another video which you said it in 😁 currently working my way through the trip but have gone back to start as TH-cam showed day 9 and I started watching it then decided to start from the start, hubby and I are doing NC500 with our 4 kids in summer but we’re in a tent and hoping to wild camp parts of it. 😁 luckily we live in Scotland (Aberdeenshire) so contemplating on a long day trip to scope out spots on the east side

Thanks very much for the feedback Maureen. I’m sure that you’ve noticed, Slaw is a novice vlogger; this trip being his first attempt at daily vlogs en route uploaded everyday. He trialled various different camera angles over the 15 days of the trip. This one giving excellent views of the left hand side of the route with hardly any of the right hand side. We’re sorry this didn’t suit you. Sound quality on this vlog is actually better than some of the other ones 🤣 This is something he’s working on for our next trip out on the glorious 12th to North Yorkshire. Hope you join us. I have a drone DJI spark, but the darn gimbal has stop moving/working, 😡🤬so that should be fun. I’ve enjoyed all the videos of your trip because it not to crisp They are what most people will be watching when they get their own vids home. Well done you sir if you are a novice

We’ve just come back from our first NC500 and stopped off at a couple of the sites you both visited. Scourie was our favourite campsite of the trip, but a warning to any attempting Shegra Beach crofters campsite, its now very unfortunately closed for business. You can still park next to the grave yard and walk down to the lovely bay there but there is a no overnight parking sign there and the first gate is padlocked. I spoke to a local who was very apologetic, who said that larger vans were getting stuck on the campsite and this issue with the efforts needed to tractor people off was causing damage to the land. I’ve watched your video and to be fair, there isn’t as much flat land there now as there was on your video.
Hi Tony, yes we heard it had closed a couple of years ago. Such a shame, but some people do push the limits of their van. There are some big vans on the route that really shouldn’t be 🤷🏻♀️
@@TheSlawsAdventures It was a real pity. Stunning location, thanks again for your Nc500 playlist, we visited a few sites and locations that you featured, very useful. And the NC500 exceeded our high expectations. A very lucky two weeks of Scottish sunshine helped. The only downside was the resulting start of the midge season, but it was worth it. Tony and Julie.
