    This comment section amazes me...
    Although I wouldn't go to the extent of doing the RB Kit on my Miata as it's not my taste, props off to you as it's insanely well pulled off and not just trashed.
    Regarding the 250-300HP, Everyone saying it's gonna kill the engine, please stop believing everything you see. He doesn't need the coolant reroute as I doubt he is going to be beating on the car for extended periods of time. He won't blow it at 300 Crank HP if done correctly. He doesn't cut corners and with no doubt will have an great tuner. The only risk he faces is lifting the head at such power due to not having the ARP head studs, but that's a maybe. People are making 250-275 WHP with the same turbo kit and without some of the extras he has put on. Now equant the loss between the wheel and crank.

    Dude I absolutely love your build! I just can’t help but worry about you not doing a coolant reroute (yet?). You really want to adress the impaired stock system, especially so on turbo’d miatas. Keep the content coming! 🤙🏻

    • @HyperspeedMedia
      @HyperspeedMedia 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robin Oldekamp it’s not needed, most people don’t need it unless if you track your car every weekend. The idea that it must be done is absurd.

    • @robinoldekamp4856
      @robinoldekamp4856 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sitha Puth there’s lots of upgrades he’s done that are more than the car needs. The 4th cylinder is cooled significantly worse than the rest. The original design for this engine placed the thermostat at the back of the engine. The only reason they put it in front, is to make it easier to work on. If he’s going the whole mile on this car anyway and wants things perfect, it’s definitely worth doing for longevity’s sake. Just my $0.02 😬

    • @OMGBUILDS

      @@HyperspeedMedia I agree and why I didnt do it purposely. NA's are about 30 years old now - if it was an issue - mazda would have changed it asap. We would have seen thousands of failures by the first year.

    • @HyperspeedMedia
      @HyperspeedMedia 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robin Oldekamp We all know what it does, that idea that you need to do it for daily normal driving car is just not true. i ran my turbo car for years and in many track event also. I check the compression and it was great accross the board. Coolant reroute is optional, do it if you’re scare of blowing up ur engine, but its not needed.

    Super clean build. Love the attention to detail and pursuit of the best possible parts. A lot of people can’t justify large expenditure on a base car worth little money, however I think you serve as a role model that passion and enjoyment should come before anybody else’s opinions. Especially of those on the Internet. Keep up the quality content! You inspire me to build better 💪🏼

    "This should make 275-300+". Yeah maybe for about a month if you're lucky, safe limit at the crank for these is around 250. Considering it's not even got a coolant reroute yet either I think you're hoping for a lot more from this engine than it is gonna give you simply because it looks clean. Everyone always wants to go big to please the internet boys, decent power for a long time is better than crazy power for a short time.

    • @OMGBUILDS
      @OMGBUILDS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not here to please the internet or you, I'm here to build what I want. 250 - 275 on E85 isn't magical - call Toby and Advance Engine Dynamics and see for yourself, I'll wait.

    • @fiisho
      @fiisho 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need to get the coolant reroute to make 250-300hp, especially if it's not being constantly beated on for extended period of time.
      He may risk a head gasket from lifting the head if he hasn't got the Arp head studs at such high power.
      Regarding the engine dying. Everyone runs 250-275whp at the wheel with the flying miata kit, like gingium does. The whp is after drivetrain lose, crank power and wheel power are different.

    • @R03333
      @R03333 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OMGBUILDS I'm just going off the common known limits most people base theirs off over here in the UK. Admittedly E85 is pretty much unknown over here so that might actually help but at the end of the day power is power and the rods can only take so much before they peace out. A good tune with lower torque figures will help you a lot though, Greg P's lasted a while with high numbers and stock internals but even that went pop in the end.

    • @R03333
      @R03333 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fiisho I know the difference between wheel and crank/fly horsepower, that's why I said 250 crank. Fair point about how the car is driven though, I beat the snot out of my MX5 (as nature intended) so I'd be more inclined to the lower power figure for longer time but if this is more of a show car then I get it. No hate intended my guy.

    • @TheCarPassionChannel
      @TheCarPassionChannel 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Safe limit at the crank (bhp) is well above 250. Horsepower isn't even what makes the rods ejecto-seat cuz, torque is where you have problems. On my GT2554R setup I ran 13->16.5psi boost taper to keep the torque safe, and ran 276whp/241wtq for several months including plenty of hard driving. With a safe tune that avoids detonation via dyno tuning and safeguards, and a safe amount of torque, above 250whp is very feasible. Although it's not the norm, 350whp has been done on stock blocks using the same tactics. Where @mascunana will hit a wall is with the GT2560R right between 280-300whp, but in my opinion is the perfect turbo for that power level in a street Miata.
