Thank you for the more accurate headlines lately. I've been following/subscribed to this channel for going on 3 years now and you've consistently provided the best information on this conflict than anyone else on TH-cam. I'd love it if you could achieve some sort of interview with Russian or Ukrainian soldiers as to what the situation on the ground looks like and why there are sometimes huge advances and then no advances on the same front from one month to the next. I think that would provide some much needed context for us.
UAF is retreating from Kurahivka. There are reports that Russians are moving inside town without meeting any resistance from UAF. GG well played NAFO. It is reported by UA officials that nearly two UAF battalions flee from battlefield daily! That's a approximately 600 troops per day.
That's about it. By year end they will be close to wrapping it up. They will have approached the last big remaining cities of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. Meanwhile, Ukraine keeps sending men and equipment to hold on to a shrinking pocket in Kursk. That make a lot of sense.
Ukrainians still haven’t learn to NEVER let the two tips touch! One would think the alliterative nature of this lesson alone would insure its powerful presence within their psyches.

The Russians retreated in Kursk and Torestk recently after claiming on their maps that they had captured/recaptured the places. Why? Most of the front has been completely stagnant and unchanged for two years. Why? Do you realize the 1.5 million figure for uniformed forces Putin gave recently includes the Navy, Air Force & Strategic Forces? What is the actual figure for the Ground Forces? Do you realize for every 20km of front you are supposed to have 1 division? That would mean 100 Divisions are needed in place, full time, not 'rotated'. But Russia has barely 20 divisions in it's entire army still, ten years later and 2 1/2 years of full scale ground combat. It appears Col. Strelkov's assessment wasn't far off the mark as the volunteer model Puting is using for political reasons is not generating the forces needed. Mobilization of reserves and 3 year terms of conscription would solve most of it not more glossy & glitzy conferences.
Every day you say that Russia is advancing a lot. Big gains, you say. Yet the map still looks the same. The red areas still look mostly the same and the blue areas still look mostly the same. If Russia is doing so well, why is the map not changing and why are they not marching toward Kiev? Are they not able to reach Kiev? I don't understand this.
The map changed quite a lot in the past years. This is a war between the two sides that are equally matched in many areas. The Russian and Ukrainian army did come from the same military academies, using mostly the same weapons and tactics. What Ukraine is lacking Nato is providing, so the fight is even. And this is what it looks like when two sides are both strong, advances are small but casualties are high. This is a war of attrition.
@ I mean that there aren’t going to be ww2 style advances until the last breath of the ukr army because of the nature of the fight and the mentality of their generals . Of course the map has changed Russians are assaulting ( according to some reports ) kontantinopol if that’s true and they succeeded they would have pierced the entire blue region on the map . I consider that a map change but this is not how advances used to be like in the past that just my point .

4 lamb shanks
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 large carrots, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 cup red wine (optional, or use extra broth)
2 cups beef or lamb broth
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
3 sprigs fresh rosemary (or 1 tsp dried)
3 sprigs fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried)
1 bay leaf
Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for garnish)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
Season and Sear the Lamb Shanks
Generously season the lamb shanks with salt and pepper.

Add Lamb Shanks and Cover

Garnish and Serve
Remove the bay leaf and herb sprigs. Serve the lamb shanks with a garnish of lemon zest and fresh parsley.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the lamb shanks with mashed potatoes, creamy polenta, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
