8:01 I’m a descendant of Mary Ellen Pleasant. Also, my relatives (who are Mary’s descendants) made history during their time period: sisters Dr. Geneva Handy and Dorothy Antoinette Handy. “In 1954, Dorothy joined the Orchestre International in Paris. The following year, she joined the Music Viva Orchestra with her sister, Geneva Handy Southall, going on tour in Germany, which was sponsored by the United States Information Agency.” en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._Antoinette_Handy

Great video! I say with all of the negative images pushed to enforce the stereotype, I see so many dedicated black Americans doing all kinds of wonderful things. These stories are rarely reported on the local or national news which is why I'm happy about channels like yours where I can choose my own content to watch. Regardless of the algorithm I seek positive black media, and that which will improve my life. New subscriber!

You covered a lot in this video. Thank you. 1. It can be a difficult job to follow the money. GOP (companies) were paid as well. May not be during the campaign, but now that they've won, I bet A LOT of GOP people and companies are going to financially benefit down the road. My concern is the tons of money used to sway only a small percent of voters. I'll stop there. 2. Northern racism is still real and alive. 3. Please consider doing a video on why black greek organizations are just as 'important ' post college. White greeks seem to move on to other clubs. I'll discuss fashion, education, skin color and caste another time. Thank you for reading.

How do you feel about the black project 2025? I did a video on it because as a community organizer, I’m frustrated that people go after a new shiny thing opposed to listening and connecting with people who have been doing this work prior to Trump’s election. The person who suggested it to me feels like reactionary politics, and I’m nervous about leaders who only just now realize the state of the black community is something that we should be doing something about. The oppression of black folk are not new, so I’m just curious what other people are thinking, other than the sheep who follow any snake oil that is being promoted

Lady Trinette, that is a very Great Question, who are the Black elite today? I would have to do some research to find that out. I don't know the names of Powerful, Productive Black People off of the top of My head, maybe LeBron James is one.
I hope the Democratic Party have learned a Great Lesson in this Defeat because Beyonce, Meg the Stallion, Cardi B etc are just entertainers they ARE NOT OUR LEADERS.
They Twerk, and pull their pants down to show their drawers & stuff but that is NOT What Great, Sophisticated & Honorable Leaders Do. They Are Not Our Leaders At tall.

    Oprah gave America:
Dr.Oz 66 times on her show then gave him his own show through Own.
Dr. Phil who is Trump supporter gave him his show.
    Jeff Bezos- Amazon WTF
Trump and his family calling him the best father in America and hung out with Donald at Mar Largo. She even had Maya Angelou's b-day party at Mar Largo!
Barack and Michelle Obama before he became President. She announced that he would be our 1st black president once he became senator.(I saw the show) and said "who is he?"
I guess we have Oprah to thank for this daymare😢
Remember when Oprah built her school in S.Africa and she was questioned as to why she didn't build a badly needed residential boarding school for girls in Chicago. Her response "They only want sneakers" This from a woman who is the consumate hustler of goods.
    Oprah's favorite things...who cares ADOS don't!

@@blackhistory767 You raise all of that Champaign money to spend it to get your word out. Be it Wynette TV ads, newspaper ads, or mailers. Same as having celebrity endorsements, as you are trying to reach as many people as possible. And , celebrity hood still matters to some folks.
As for people in the gilded Age, perhaps not the black families, but those elite white families , were Robber Barons, just like the top %today.
As for giving back to the black communities, there are plenty that give back and Bey is one of those that do.
What’s the problem with people being paid for their time? As far as propaganda, everyone should be doing their own research and acting accordingly. Also, the “400” was coined for the white elite what were invited to the Astor’s home.

I enjoy your show, but let's set the record straight about Roland Martin. He's not just a media personality; he owns a media company with employees to pay. Think about it: even Oprah, a media mogul, didn't reap the same financial rewards as the networks she partnered with.
Before making assumptions, remember that Roland Martin's company is a significant player in the media landscape. To put it into perspective, his company is likely more substantial than a small business. So, let's do our research before asking questions.
Also, he barely made slightly more than what the Republicans pay Melania trumps Hairstylers
