    Awesome video and fantastic mount you fabricated! Had all the answers I was looking for to do my install of the same compressor. Thank you!

    Great design and execution. Really like how you took the time to make it look like it was built for your Jeep, and added all the carpet and molding back in. Well done brotha!!

      Thank you bud! I was tossing the idea of leaving the carpet out but it mutes the rain and rocks on the inner fenders just a little and looks better being black than white. Or at least I think so 🤷‍♂️

    looks like a well "engineered" project. it really does look like a product that could sell.

    great DIY project man. I need to figure out something for mine but I have a security lid over the back of my cargo area. You got me thinking for sure.

      Thank you bud! And that’s what this project was all about, to spark ideas for others and show you don’t need all the specific tools to get the job done, just a little ingenuity! I’ll keep an eye out for what you come up with!

    Can you provide more detail into connecting the electrical..thanks, Gypsy

      Hey there Gypsy, thanks for checking out my video! So I am planning on covering that more in a future video when I get to making a full onboard air system, but I am not sure when I will get to that.
      Essentially to summarize what I did was I picked up approximately 24 feet of I think 8 gauge wire red and black that run from the battery positive and negative terminals to the compressor. I added an inline 40 amp fuse about 12 inches from the positive battery terminal. I also cut off the leads from the compressor at about 18 inches and used some heat shrink connectors that allow the wire I ran from the battery to the compressor for an easy connect/disconnect in case I want to remove or move the compressor. I ran the added wire in the engine bay along the firewall and along the driver side frame rail. I brought that up through the grommet behind the wheel well where the taillight harness passes from inside the cab into the rear corner and then make the connection under the carpet.
      Let me know if this doesn’t give you the details you were looking for or have more questions!

    So where do I place my order ;) (seriously though)

      Hey Mike thanks for checking out my video! Honestly I would love to manufacture these and sell them but I have a couple things I would need to do to make the support leg mount to a factory bolt location. Maybe one day!

      @@VictorVectorJKU I wouldn’t want to delete the 40 seat split either. But this design is very good. If you make a prototype I’d be willing to support it

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the bracket doesn’t require the 40% delete, just how I mounted it to my cargo platform system versus the seat bolt. That is what I would need to do to enable a simple bolt in solution for a typical JKU!

      @@VictorVectorJKU Can you provide some details regarding wiring? I'm trying to do the same setup and have an switch box that is connected to the battery. I'm planning on running both positive/negative wires from the switch pod to the compressor. But what size of fuse will this need?

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to run the positive and negative wires direct to the battery. The switch pod systems typically cannot handle that level of amperage. You can however take the mechanical switch from the compressor and use that wiring back to the switch pod system to get that functionality. To determine the size of wire I needed to use I did a google search and based on amperage and length of wire. As far as fuse you will need to look up the amperage of the compressor you are wiring to size that appropriately. So specifically for my system I think I used 10 gauge wire and a 30 or 35 amp fuse. This may differ for you, so be sure to do you’re research!
