Squad is such a unique game. LMFAO I died laughing at the knife guy. And you can tell everyone on both teams enjoyed the hell out of that match. At the end everyone sounds tired from being so invested in that match.
You know I think vehicles just trigger some sort of basic orky instinct in many gamers. Its big, it makes loud noises, has a big gun and is fast. They see that and the only thing they can do is floor the accelerator and charge screaming.
I've got a friend I've know him for a long time and he's a good guy but I used to play pubg with him and he had similar car trouble. Even if the team was where it needed to be to succeed, even if it was a teammates cover, even if someone was activity trying to shoot him in the face. He would break cover the second he saw another car, dash for the nearest vehicle and if he made it take off in hot pursuit.

I've been wanting to play layers with this kind of match-up, didn't even know it existed.
Would like to see something like U.S army vs U.S Marines on a map, just to really test peoples communication skills and trigger discipline.
