This video introduced me to Intronaut about 5-6 years ago and after listening to their whole discography, I keep coming back to "Core Relations". It is simply one of the best songs I have heard since then.
they want an extra instrument layer so they have both guitarists sing at the same time, i think they do a great job. these guys are incredible live musicians
I really like this channel. Helps EMG to market their shit in unoffensive manner, gives us great (seemingly) non-edited live videos, bands get exposure and occasional internet angry people get an opportunity to fling some shit. This is winning on every front if you ask me.
Like i said in one of their other videos. Their odd timing is musical and pleasant to the ears. Love how they blend different styles. Funkiest shit ever.....
I love this band. I've noticed that most criticism comes from comparison to other bands or expectations of vocals. That's never been what these guys are about. Say what you will about the vocals... these guys are experimenting and have their own sound and that's hard to achieve in an era when any jackass with a few bucks can get on youtube with whatever garbage they cobble together
Not to mention like, honestly harsh vocals in metal are so fucking boring anymore. Intronaut actually made themselves more unique yet simultaneously more accessible by switching to clean vocals.
Matthew Hurley I don't think they intended to make themselves more accessible. I think they just wanted to try something different. The new vocal style definitely lends itself well to the stoner vibe they give off.
JettyLife23 probably the closest to old mastodon you'll ever come across. But East of the Wall and Intronaut sound nearly identical. Check out the Apologist album.
They're both wonderful singers live, I think this song's harmonies are just a btt difficult to sync up. Every vocalist has trouble find the right pitch occasionally, and it's twice as hard when there are two. Sometimes it's hard to tell who's correct when they're both trying to compensate. Regardless, I've seen them live and they were fucking amazing.
I have such conflicting feelings about this band. they are one of my all time favorite bands. At times i wish that they would get the widespread acclaim they have deserved for YEARS.... but then again i like that they are a bit obscure because that allows them to play perfect, intimate shows at smaller venues like St. Vitus in Brooklyn (one of the best shows I have ever been to)
+K.J B I've never been to an Intronaut concert (maybe in the future!), but I completely agree with ya. Small, intimate metal concerts are great. I couldn't imagine going to a festival like download or any one of those big concerts because there's no intimacy at all!
+K.J B For me, they could at least get so popular that they're coming to Europe one day. Currently, they're only touring through Canada and the U.S. and that sucks a bit, but oh well...
Aw, hell yes. What a refreshing selection after the most recent drivel. The mix is clear, the songs are well written, the technique is well executed. To be honest, I really respect you guys for posting a variation of everything, but keeping a steady stream of updates in every genre is what keeps me subscribed. Satin
I love this!! Great Song! The mix is so clear compared to Eyes set to kill, drum tone is awesome and totally cuts through the mix with clarity on everything else. Really clean! Yeah, EMGtv is the new MTV, I agree….
Intronaut on EMGtv is always great. Really love all their previous songs on your channel. Even Better than this one. I would love for them to do a full set!
A race of "lizard people" who lived underground in LA 5,000 years ago according to Hopi legend. Apparently remains of their civilization were found underground in LA back in the 30s. The entire lyrical concept for each song on Valley of Smoke is on their website actually.
METAL FANS.... START with "Heart Of The Sunrise" by YES (1972) and take it from there! ART-ROCk is the best music ever. Endless surprises; killer musicians; innovation galore; etc etc!
Part of the reason people are having trouble with the vocals is that they are intentionally dissonant. You either get it or you don't Think Mongolian throat singing.
People who complain about the vocals either have no idea how to stay in tune and don’t know how to sing. And two don’t know how to properly play an Instrument to know how good they sound. I had to say it.
I know my fabrics, don't get your cottons in a bunch. To be honest, I have no idea how that got there, I didn't write satan or satin in the comment section (that I remember).
Trouble is, they're not singing. In the past their vocals would have been growls in such a song. Now, they want to clean up their vocals, but instead of creating melodic lines, they just sing a steady note at the pitch of the chord the tune is in. Because that would be too obviously blah, the other guy harmonizes on that, as if that would trick the listener into finding this interesting. It's tiresome and does not add anything to the song. Which is a shame because they would have been a great band if they found a way around this problem.
this band are seriously good. so underrated.

It wasn't their intent but they've definitely only gotten more popular since doing so.
Ryan An I frkn love their vocals
Intronaut is awesome. Truly one of a kind. So underappreciated.
Just saw them last night with btbam, they were really great. Their bass player is awesome
Got here by googling "bands like Mastodon" and I'm glad I did.
JettyLife23 probably the closest to old mastodon you'll ever come across. But East of the Wall and Intronaut sound nearly identical. Check out the Apologist album.
underrated

Danny Walker and Joe Lester are probably the best rhythm section in metal today, IMO.
A masterpiece.
How much fun is Danny having...
I love their harmonics...

Yeah, EMGtv is the new MTV, I agree….
That bass...
i wish them best, very specific music. they're awesome, especially the drummer, one song so many chops/beats to learn! :]
Excellent sound and playing quality, I need to check these guys out.
Dark and vibrant at the same time...
this is reeeeally great
Intronaut are awesome! get them to do stuff with you more often
Intronaut on EMGtv is always great. Really love all their previous songs on your channel. Even Better than this one.
I would love for them to do a full set!
This band deserves so much more recognition...
That mix sounds fantastic! Great job
I wish the intro was the whole song. By far one of my favorite Intros
Intro is reason this is my favorite song
Exactly!
They're really good at making intros, hence the name.
Jesus fucking christ.... Cant even begin to comprehend how good these guys are.....
This sounds great!!!
So ethereal... 💕💕
Beast band
amo esa cancion y todas las de intronaut
is the bass guitar fretless? i cant see
that guy in the center is such a badass
muy buena banda!!!
My favourite Intronaut track here. Anybody know what the song is about? I know Valley of Smoke is about past events in LA.

amazing band 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏾🤘🏽🤘🏽
Ohh man, I can feel that Eric Johnson feel at 1:40, smells just like Trail of Tears, the same dragging feeling.
BADASS!
So fking good...
That ending though
Those fucking chokes man..these guys sure know how to write music
METAL FANS.... START with "Heart Of The Sunrise" by YES (1972) and take it from there!

better than the original recording .....
Fuck yeah Intronaut!!
i want them to play "STEPS"
Yes, it's a Fretless Zon Legacy.
These guys are like a mix of Mastodon and Tool
Danny is still a beast.
Pedaltrain JR?
It is
Joe Lester is a fucking machine dude
They sound like a more technical version of Isis, and I love it!
Somsera demais esses barbados do caramba
they are the opeth of 2025
hahahahaha :D

Amazing music. Can't say I enjoy the vocals though
Their drummer is disgustingly good...
its like prog for dads
...as opposed to regular prog (original prog) from the 60's, which would be for grandpas...er...what do you mean?
As opposed to Djent garbage for the yungins
Thumbs up because the drummer is hell... The voices - hm beautyful and dynamic melody?? Wait..öh
Joe Lester most beastest.
I know my fabrics, don't get your cottons in a bunch. To be honest, I have no idea how that got there, I didn't write satan or satin in the comment section (that I remember).
Какая то фишка типа двухголосье :)
Ok doke then. Consider my cottons non-bunched
good song, bad singers. would be badass as an instrumental. tho
Do you even know what satin is? Because it sure as hell isn't like Satan...
A better band w Danny.

They are a great band
crippled horse energy drink really fucked my shit
Gotta agree with this. the instrumental is great but the vocals are detracting rather than adding to the sound.
Lame post
Public forum.
sick band but the singing is terrible!!!
lol a bad version of tesseract concealing fate
What? 0.o... you know that their stuff is much older than the shite they call tesseshitact?...
this song was released the same year tho
edit: only half a year later
so you're deaf?
Yawn
