    For the price they freaking charge the bodies should already be precut......

    Great walk through! The only thing I would recommend is another camera where we can see what you're doing up close.

    Hey thanks for this video. I'm fairly new to the hobby and just ordered up my first proline body and getting ready for it to arrive. Just learning how to cut and paint. Do you have any body painting videos?

    I’ve found scoring and running the scores to the edge from the wheel wells will prevent ripping those curves. Also a #11 blade tape wrapped between fingers will be easier to control rather than the stock long handle.
    Keep it coming!

    Easy to do when you dont have the tire round part on the body to cut lol.

    Why doesn't someone do a video on this subject for a poor unfortunate soul who didn't buy a Proline body. You know, the sort of cheap body that has no cut line? There are only three dimensions but there are a LOT of angles on a car body. Try cutting those without guidelines...

      I have so I know what you are talking about. I have a few bodies like that at the house. Ill do a video on how I deal with those kinds of bodies and if there is one you would like to see done that I can order let me know and ill get one in. I would love to help in any way I can.

    • @aljensen7779
      @aljensen7779 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well..., since you're asking... You're getting the abridged version because my browser crashed while typing. Anyway...
      Here's some backstory: The chassis is a Tamiya M-06. The body that came factory is a Nissan Sylvia. That body has had so many owners & paint jobs inside & out that it looks terrible. But here goes:
      The only store within reach, and the only body they had that was somewhat close to fitting was a Porsche 911. Now, I've never been a fan of that shape (they remind me of old round-cornered refrigerators from the 1960s) but I've got what I've got. Here's another thing worth noting:
      The chassis houses a 6000kv motor. Now I'm not complaining about popping wheelies at 40kph but clearly downforce is a vital element in keeping this thing stable.
      One thing I've done is to order a complete set of aluminum chassis parts - if it moves, it'll be replaced with either aluminum, or a bearing or a hinge pin. No more plastic! If you think that body will fit on the chassis, I'm listening, Sid. Btw, the wheelbase of the chassis is 190-200mm.

    • @RC_Basement
      @RC_Basement  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      if it is 190-200mm that is standard onroad car body so you should be able to do any body. 200mm needs a deeper offset tire.

    I'm with you regarding the first part... Scoring with an x-acto is spot on. But "ripping"? What happens if your accidentally rip going into the body and not the extra lexan? There's no backing out of that one... I prefer to "pop" the entire thing in manageable sections.

    This is the exact method that I use. It's worked for many bodies tried and true. On another note: Sid, thank you SO MUCH for your contribution on RC Overdose! I really love this TRX-4. You guys are the best! Greetings from Germany!!!
