hey Patrick, you don't know me but, having spent a long time now watching Ren/Ren adjacent reactions, i have seen you around a lot for a long time. i generally don't speak to people but i just wanted to say happy 70th and may you have many more. have a great day and much love to you and yours!🙂🙂🙂❤❤❤
Trudat! At 56, with thousands of shows under my belt, after playing with Hundreds of different bands... I can honestly say he is the Most Impressive artist of my lifetime! Well... there's two that fit that category! Ren and Dimash! Two totally different people with the same work ethic, who won't let a label tell them what they can or cannot do! Both multi-instrumentalist with a Love of Music and performing!
I crave the feeling of hearing it for the first time. As a substitute I just watch people reacting to it. And I learned so much from that too, because we all have different experiences and different perspectives and at the end we are all just humans. ❤
Ren does light funny songs as well as serious dark ones. He properly Raps, he Sings, plays a number of instruments. You can't pin him down to a genre as every new song is a surprise. He has done lots of collabs that are great. And he was in a band called The Big Push who are all talented musicians and singers. They loved doing busking (live street performances) and their song videos are a must see.
Beautul soul indeed. He started making beats at 12 and taught himself guitar starting at 10. He has mastered guitar,bass,piano and drums. Writes, produces beats, beatboxes, raps, sings , acts and creares and directs his own videos. He us 34 now suffering from Lyme disease and various autoimmune conditions as a result if being misdiagnosed for 7 years. Mostly bedbound from 19 tp 26 when he was given a cell transplant that alliwed him to perform again. Currently in a relapse the last month,but decided to start releasing the new album , Slaughterhouse. Starting next week. I suggest Sick Boi , Chalk Outlines live with Chinchilla for singing, and the full 13 minute triligy Tales of Jenny and Screech. Enjoy his genius.❤
You have an infectious smile and your reaction to this video was wonderful to watch. Just your facial expressions showed how much the song touched you. I have subscribed in the hope that you will join us in the World of Ren. Trust me, you won't have to ask us for suggestions of songs from his library to react. Also, please keep Ren in your thoughts (and prayers). He is once again very ill and needs all the positive vibes he can get sent his way. Thanks again from South Carolina! Oh, my journey started with Hi Ren and went to Chalk Outlines.
So much of our lives aren’t about what happens to us but more about how we react to what has happened and I really like that sentiment that you shared at the end regarding that
You're in for a treat, discovering Ren's work. Ren had been working on his music for a long time when this song came out and started getting him the attention he had already long deserved. Just over a year ago he dropped his album Sick Boi, which went in at number 1 on the UK charts. He is about to start dropping tracks from his forthcoming Slaughterhouse album, the first of which will be on Thursday. Most reactors pick either Sick Boi or the Tale of Jenny and Screech (full 13 minute video with all three tales in the correct order), but really there are no bad choices. It will take quite a few songs to get an understanding of the variety of genres Ren is comfortable in, and his wide ranging musical influences. Ren used to be in a band called the Big Push, so do check them out too.
Congrats on finding Ren, and welcome to the Ren Rabbithole. This man is a multi-instrumentalist, multi-genre, storytelling and lyrical genius. Enjoy the ride! 😊❤️🔥😊
Great reaction💯 welcome to the RENiverse. I have subbed for your journey. Buckle up it is a fun ride and well worth it he can do anything and a lot of his video's are live 1 shot videos crazy talent. I never knew how much I needed Ren in my life until Ren was in my life❤Greetings from a Canadian RENegade🍁
If you want to go down the rabbit hole, watch REN’s 8 chapters of ”REN’s Life Story” found on his RenMakesStuff page. It’s gut wrenching, heartbreaking, and a glimpse into the magnificent power of REN’s spirit. To learn about his refusal to let his illnesses win is nothing less than awe-inspiring. You get a glimpse into Rens world. There is a song at the end of each chapter so be sure to stop before the song starts if you plan to react to them.
Great reaction! Here for Ren! Liked and subscribed! There is a lot to react to, but Troubles and Sick Boi are two good ones to get to know more about his health issues. Having Lyme disease and being misdiagnosed for many years. It will also help you understand the inspiration for many of his other songs. 😊
Thanks for taking a look at this true GENIUS. Your life will become much richer because of it ❤️ Liked & subscribed in anticipation of you reacting to more Ren Cheers 🍻😀
That laugh in the middle, i Renagade is born, welcome to the club, i have watched hundreds of reactions to this piece of art, yours is my favourite & you barely said anything, just laughed, thank you 💐
New sub. He is Shakespeare, his is Jimmy Hendrickshe is Eminem, he is the Beetles, He is just more! So excited for you journey. U r going to have SO much fun u have no idea!😂❤
Thanks for a great reaction 👍❤ And welcome to the world of Ren. A roller coaster ride through emotions, wisdom, musical genius and genres. I know others already stated parts of it but here is a short excerpt of the bio of Ren: Ren Eryn Gill is a multi-instrumentalist and producer. He sings, raps and writes his songs, lyrics and video scripts himself. He was born in Wales in 1990. He moved to Brighton in 2013 and did a lot of busking. He studied music performance at Bath Spa University. In 2009 he became seriously ill and had difficulty attending lectures. In 2010, he was signed to Sony Records. However, as his health continued to deteriorate, he had to terminate the contract. Today he is an independent artist. In October 2023, his album "Sick Boi" was number one in the British album charts. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led to him suffering from psychosis. It was not until seven years later end of 2015 that a doctor in Belgium finally diagnosed him with autoimmunity and Lyme disease, which led to brain, organ and joint damage as well as PTSD. After stem cell therapy in the United States, his health improved considerably. However, he continues to suffer from his illnesses. In early 2023, he went to Canada for about a year and a half for treatment. In July 2024 he came back to the UK to play hist first concert after five years (look for The Secret Garden Party). At the end of September 2024, Ren posted that the treatment for Lyme disease co-infection Bartonella had not worked. Eight months of grueling treatment with various antibiotics had not led to success. Then the symptoms of Bartonella came back and even worse, during a video shoot he got an autoimmune flare and experienced severe pain so he had to be taken to the emergency room. He lost vision in one eye for three days. He started recovering in the UK, went back to Canada for further treatment in October 2024. AFAIK he is back in the UK now looking for good treatment. He is a bit better now but at times his health is still so bad that he cannot leave his bed. Nonetheless he just released the title track of his new album Slaughter House. On his RenMakesStuff channel you can find an autobiographical reading about his story in eight chapters. From the end of his best friend Joe, over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and attempts of treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Absolutely worth watching. You will understand his songs even better afterwards and they become even more intense. Very personal and emotional videos. His song Troubles is a kind of condensation of these readings.
I truly would enjoy more reactions from you Aerona. The experience is well worth the effort. Ren is talented for sure, also has a vast depth across hisbody of work. The Big Push is worthy too (band Ren was part of) .
Lovely reaction . If you choose to follow up with more Ren then pretty much the truth of the human condition will be yours to enjoy - plus some damn good tunes too boot!
This man is an inspiration for all ages at least every one of his fans can resonate with his lyrics in some shape or form. May i suggest the trilogy tale of jenny and screech. You have a new subscriber and be ready for more. Ren loves reactors spreading his music and message so i will look forward to some more from you.
Tell you this. Not sure why I liked your silence and facial expressions but I really think you will love the Ren journey and I’m here for it. New sub!! Go enjoy like many many of us have.
Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole . Since stumbling upon his music some four or five months ago , I’ve been captivated and have not been able to stop listening. Ren is a genius that has connected with millions who can relate . The renegades will fill you in with all you need to know. He can do everything and fits into no one genre. It’s going to blow your mind. Watching reactors like you gives us a chance to relive the moment of hearing these songs for the very first time. Great reaction.. This song has had a big impact on my life. I think it helped look at things a little different and not be as critical of myself. As you said its part of life but its how we respond to it that's important. I stopped being as critical of myself and finally decided to talk to a doctor about the depression got some light meds that have helped.. over the past 10 months ive lost 110 pounds.. still have a long way to go but I am optimistic about the future for the first time in years. Rens lyrics impact people and i really believe his voice and artistry is needed in this time. To me he is the modern day Bob Dylan.. he cannot be pigeonholed into one genre of music and his art is thought provoking and stimulates necessary conversations. I hope you continue down this path. I would suggest Dominoes and the money game trilogies as good next steps. But im sure others will give you plenty of songs to checkout and all are really good and show different sides of this artist.
Thank you so much for sharing your comment and how Ren's music has affected your life. I'm definitely overwhelmed by all the love that he has inspired as an artist and look forward to digging into the catalogue. =)
@Aeronamusic .. I think you will really enjoy the journey.. at times the ride can be a bit bumpy.. as Ren has a tendency to shine light on dark places that most try to ignore.. but he does it so well that you can't look away.. he gives a voice to those who can't speak. The cool thing is the Renegades will be here for every step.. the only rule is don't listen to Ren without us please. . Please allow us to hitch a ride with you. 😂😂 Thanks for your genuine reaction.
I just saw your Hi Ren reaction, and put this journal entry of Ren's as my comment to that reaction. ~~~~~~jAN 01, 202~~rEN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticize or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed. I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head. When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus. These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between. My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished. My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world. The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war. For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person. I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought. Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours. I can't wait for you all to hear it.
Oh wow, thank you so much for posting this! It's amazing how a small gesture of kindness, either from yourself or someone else, can begin a process of healing or turn our whole day around from negative to positive. What an interesting experience he's had so far in his life.
@@Aeronamusic Absolutely no problem at all. As a person who also has struggled in the mindscape I just want Ren's story to come from Ren. I made assumptions that were wrong when I first heard Hi Ren, and so I always share his journal entry to people reacting to that track, so Welcome my friend. Ren is a great talent indeed.
I guess a warning is only fair... If u dive deeper into Ren's Music, u'll find yourself in a rabbithole. But since u saw Hi Ren as the fist video of him, I also guess I can say: Welcome to the Ren-rabbithole. ;)
Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole. You should next listen to Sick Boi. Ren calls it the prequel to Hi Ren. Then let him show you the genius story teller side of him by watching The Tale of Jenny & Screech/Violet trilogy. Enjoy and I hope you will also begin to call yourself a RENegade.
A couple more greats you'd enjoy from the uk RAG N BONE MAN ,,,,,HUMAN ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NORTHERN BOYS,,,,,,,GIVE IT TO ME ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,CHINCHILLA,,,,FINGERS LIVE ,, ,,great reaction to ren
Next should be "sick boi" and "chalk outlines", and then find out about the story behind taking down sick boi, and then see "Kujo beatdown", and then watch "slaughterhouse". And then you can focus on earlier songs. It will be great!
a small warning - the captions often struggle to keep up when Ren ups his cadence in fast sections of his songs - they either give up altogether or they throw up completely wrong phrases. Ren nearly always pins his lyrics to the description on his videos. And don't worry about copyright - Ren actively encourages new reactors that help spread his music.
We call ourselves Renegades.... Ren had contracted Lyme disease and was never diagnosed until it took over his immune system as well as his mental health. It is amazing to watch people react to Hi Ren, because you can tell his story is real. Next stop in the Ren rabbithole should be the The Tale of Jenny and Screech. It is a tragic story of people living in the streets performed in a bard / minstrel style. You will be amazed at how he tells this story!
No, WE don't. Unfortunately due to some fans you will hear every corny pun on Ren - Renaissance, Renegade, Rensational even Reneverse (which makes no sense as it bears no resemblance to Universe but some think it's clever) - ad nauseum.
Yes, I've been listening to it again a few times because the first time I was just trying so hard to keep up with what he was saying! People say this gets easier as I listen to him more, though.
In two days time I shall be 70 years old. The best thing about growing old is Ren. Happy Ren Day!

The cool thing is the Renegades will be here for every step.. the only rule is don't listen to Ren without us please. . Please allow us to hitch a ride with you. 😂😂 Thanks for your genuine reaction.
❤❤❤ subbed in hopes of more Ren
Enjoy ❤
Welcome to Ren,enjoy the ride,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
You're gonna enjoy this journey:) welcome
Thank you, subbed
I just saw your Hi Ren reaction, and put this journal entry of Ren's as my comment to that reaction.
~~~~~~jAN 01, 202~~rEN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticize or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed.
I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head.
When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus.
These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between.
My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished.
My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world.
The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war.
For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person.
I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought.
Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours.
I can't wait for you all to hear it.
Oh wow, thank you so much for posting this! It's amazing how a small gesture of kindness, either from yourself or someone else, can begin a process of healing or turn our whole day around from negative to positive. What an interesting experience he's had so far in his life.
@@Aeronamusic Absolutely no problem at all. As a person who also has struggled in the mindscape I just want Ren's story to come from Ren. I made assumptions that were wrong when I first heard Hi Ren, and so I always share his journal entry to people reacting to that track, so Welcome my friend. Ren is a great talent indeed.
Welcome.. The Renagades will always show love ❤... And you'll learn to not need CC, 😊
Welcome to the renegades!
If you're interested in more Ren, i recommend The Tales of Jenny and Screech. It's a three part story in one 13-minute video. It'll blow you away.
I just added a live performance to my pending reactions. I've gotten this recommendation from a few of you guys so that'll be next!
Money Games Pt 3 next mate
Genuine reaction - it’s ok to cry pal.
Cheers Dennis
Welcome to the Renegades, it's a large and deep hole 🕳️, jump in,
I guess a warning is only fair... If u dive deeper into Ren's Music, u'll find yourself in a rabbithole. But since u saw Hi Ren as the fist video of him, I also guess I can say:
Welcome to the Ren-rabbithole. ;)
#RENegades Assemble great reaction we are here to show you the ❤❤❤
Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole. You should next listen to Sick Boi. Ren calls it the prequel to Hi Ren. Then let him show you the genius story teller side of him by watching The Tale of Jenny & Screech/Violet trilogy. Enjoy and I hope you will also begin to call yourself a RENegade.
❤
A couple more greats you'd enjoy from the uk RAG N BONE MAN ,,,,,HUMAN ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NORTHERN BOYS,,,,,,,GIVE IT TO ME ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,CHINCHILLA,,,,FINGERS LIVE ,, ,,great reaction to ren
Next should be "sick boi" and "chalk outlines", and then find out about the story behind taking down sick boi, and then see "Kujo beatdown", and then watch "slaughterhouse".
And then you can focus on earlier songs. It will be great!
The Reniverse awaits...
🔥
Omg I have watched ren for so long now but this is the first time I read those subtitles OMG! they are so bad! Never read the subtitles!
a small warning - the captions often struggle to keep up when Ren ups his cadence in fast sections of his songs - they either give up altogether or they throw up completely wrong phrases. Ren nearly always pins his lyrics to the description on his videos. And don't worry about copyright - Ren actively encourages new reactors that help spread his music.
I'll definitely turn these off for Ren, it is a bit distracting. I like to go back and study lyrics after first listen anyway!
You might also check out Carpetman from the Ukraine he’s amazing also. I’m happy Ren found you…welcome enjoy laugh cry dance heal think. ❤
I will do that, thank you!
We call ourselves Renegades.... Ren had contracted Lyme disease and was never diagnosed until it took over his immune system as well as his mental health. It is amazing to watch people react to Hi Ren, because you can tell his story is real. Next stop in the Ren rabbithole should be the The Tale of Jenny and Screech. It is a tragic story of people living in the streets performed in a bard / minstrel style. You will be amazed at how he tells this story!
No, WE don't. Unfortunately due to some fans you will hear every corny pun on Ren - Renaissance, Renegade, Rensational even Reneverse (which makes no sense as it bears no resemblance to Universe but some think it's clever) - ad nauseum.
Renegade here. Welcome to the wonderful world of REN, our lyrical genius and beautiful soul. Great first reaction and I’ve subbed for more Ren ❤
RENEGADES ASSEMBLE!!!
👏👏👏👏🫶
Turn the captions off
You are a fun fan girl. Welcome to Reneverse.
Where's the reaction?
oh, nvm. Found it, it's the last couple of seconds.
Also, disregard me. I'm just projecting my bad mental state onto you and being an ass because I was looking for someone to have a nice cry with me.
You laughing and smiling through the whole thing made my blood boil.
The CC really ruins the song.
The lyrics takes a person's attention away from ren because they're staring at the lyrics most of the time
Yes, I've been listening to it again a few times because the first time I was just trying so hard to keep up with what he was saying! People say this gets easier as I listen to him more, though.
