hi, great analysis again. this is one of those Rammstein songs based on reality and it hits so diffrently. about Till's family history, his parents were seperated, which would confuse and sadden every child, he was a single father for 7 years, because the mother of his first daughter left them. from another point of view, the guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe was a runaway from home, because he felt strong disconnection from his mother, who paid attention to his older brother. he ran away from home at the age of 13, he was jealous of the attention his brother got the most and felt like his mother didn't love him. another fact, if you watch the offcial video, you can see only Till act alone in it, which is unusual in Rammstein, they are very democratic. the video was filmed shortly after American tour in 2001, no one in the band really had the time or energy to film it, no one really wanted to, so Till ended up in the hands of regisseur and had to do it alone. Rammstein almost split up in 2001, after this song/video was released, BUT they were smart enough, stayed together and have been doing amazing music, in my opinion the best musicians in the world❤if you wanna know more information, check out Mutter Making Of on their official youtube channel (english subtitles included). i'm going on their concert for the first time next year in june, so i'm so excited to meet the legends💕have a nice day
I have heared that it is ment to be a bit of a fictional scenario, "a cloned baby". But I like the more realistic intertpretation of missing a connection to your mother. - The eel lives inside because he drowned her in the river. - The translation of the birthmark looses its meaning a bit. In german is is called "Muttermal" --> "mothers-mark". therfore he has to remove it because he hates her so very much.
It's all of it. The lyrics scratch the surface of a mom - son "relationship" and everyone can interpret the lyrics like he thinks about this topic, given his own history or knowledge about this topic. I often read "that's about Till, or a other band members relationship with their mothers", well no not really. Even if there were a intension by Till when writing the lyrics the song is not meant explicitly in this way. Because the lyrics don't tell his story, about his mom leaving him alone. He had a good childhood, a mother when he needed one as a kid!
1. he placed his mother already in the river. Therefore the elee in her lungs. 2. birthmark is „mother mark“ in German. 3. he asks his mother to give him strength.
Rammstein very often has dual meanings in a lot of their lyrics. I've also read that it was also at least partially inspired by Till's and Richard's relationships with their mothers.
Actually they dont till only had a good relationship witb his mom at an older age and richard ran away at 13 beacuse his mom gave all the love to his older brother!@@annegretkasten6277
Mom-fantasy, which does not reflect any events. The song is made free for interpretation. There are many versions..Mom give me strength.Estian's comments are always Super.
Has anyone mentioned it close relation to Frankenstein? Almost like it's written from Frankenstein's creation's point-of-view who never had a mother or a name. If you watch the film from '94, the electric eels held in a large sack of water, you could almost call it a lung, is what give the creation "Kraft," power!
This song hits for me. As with most Rammstein songs, I think it has a dual meaning; one being sort of a Frankenstein's monster type of scenario, and the other being a child who was abandoned in one way or another by their mother (I read that it was at least partially inspired by Till's and Richard's relationships with their mothers). And as someone who has a complicated and strained relationship with my mother, I can really relate to the latter.
Maybe a laboratory experiment was the inspiration for this great song ? (I remember when that sheep named "Dolly" had been cloned in the late 90es (only under these circumstances a "child" could be generated without a father)
I LOVE your analysis of Rammstein songs ❤️. I wish you would follow up the lyric videos with their live versions or official video or when available use Educatedmarine who makes Rammstein videos with English subtitles.
I know you're going through old songs so may not want to revisit this so soon, but the live version of this from Paris is far superior to this recorded version. Richards crying guitar and Till wailing for a mother are really moving
Could you react to "Mehr"? Its not the most meaningful song, but hey it sounds good nonetheless xd. Reminds me of another song, maybe you will recognise it as well.
Hello, you MUST react to original video and you will understand moore. You are so wrong about this .Sorry to say. Good luck! Greetings from Germany with love from a Rammstein fan!
This is old. No one will read. When i was a babe my mom left, like dropped ke and my younger brother off at Grandma's and disappeared for a few years. Ive always heard a part in particular as: "Mother?" Wondering where she is "Mother?!" Calling for her "Mother!" Angry at her. I have a lot of mommy issues lol

You need to see the video for this song, it's beautiful
And every Rammstein fan is reminded that this almost broke the band.

@@teardrop-in-a-fishbowl I also write it again and again. Especially Till and his mother have a very good relationship.
1. he placed his mother already in the river. Therefore the elee in her lungs.
2. birthmark is „mother mark“ in German.
3. he asks his mother to give him strength.
The song is about a literal tube baby, made in a lab
Wieder schwere Kost, aber mit toller Emotion und Reaktion. Das Video aus Paris ist auch sehr hohe Metall-Kunst!!!
Its about a clone-baby made in a Lab

@@corinna007 Till has the best relationship to his mother. In interview he said, this song is for all the lost children, without a loving mother.
@@corinna007 No, they have a good relationship with their mothers. It's a song about cloning.

it also a song about the hatred towards a mother + the desperation/coldness of not having a mother, or having a bad mother
wow, so deep reaction

The song is about artificial child, obviously

the album "Mutter" is in my opinion the best album that Rammstein made. What should I say: "every song is great!"
It can go deeper than that, too. These guys were born in east Germany so without a real "Motherland" since they weren't Russian.
The Mother was the UdSSR. He was the GDR. Hammer and sickle was the mothermark. The grow up in Eastern Germany (GDR).
Maybe a laboratory experiment was the inspiration for this great song ? (I remember when that sheep named "Dolly" had been cloned in the late 90es (only under these circumstances a "child" could be generated without a father)
you should also watch the official video, Till's acting is phenomenal in it!
Rammstein has a song titled "Mutter" or mother. I'm waiting for a song about a second cousin thrice removed. That should be a banger.
I always though it's about a person created in a laboratory.
No navel, not given birth, tube in throat ...

He sings from the perspective of a clone
I was just watching your videos when I got a notification for this. I'm pretty sure you didn't react to this before.
Could you react to "Mehr"? Its not the most meaningful song, but hey it sounds good nonetheless xd. Reminds me of another song, maybe you will recognise it as well.
Please react to Rammstein Mein herz brendt official video and then after to the same song but pianno version.that...is a taff songs
I think it was created artistically! No crease to hide, meaning he wasn't born naturally! The crease also means the vagina!
Hello, you MUST react to original video and you will understand moore. You are so wrong about this .Sorry to say. Good luck!
Greetings from Germany with love from a Rammstein fan!
"Fathered in haste an without sperm!" .... ever heard of "Frankenstein"? Saw the - many - movies?
Yeah well... welcome to the future!
He's a clone. That's the song.
🍺
He's been cloned, that's all about 😉
The lyrical "I" is actually a fetus that was aborted. Hence, never had a mother and was never born either.
No, it's not. It was written in response to Dolly, the cloned sheep, about a test tube baby
This dude is already going around reacting to the songs he reacted to before and still won't react to "Wut will nicht sterben"... lol
