This is amazing in 5.1 If you remember seeing this on top of a movie in the mid 2000's at Century Theatres or any other THX Certified Cinema let me tell you this sounded more amazing in the theater. Any THX bumper that comes right before the start of a movie is a sign that your movie going experience will not be like any other you've experienced.
For those wondering what the text below "20 Years of Making Great Movies Come Alive" reads at 0:30 - 0:34, it's "THX Ltd. wishes to thank the following studios for use of the movie sound clips in this trailer presentation: American Zoetrope, Lucasfilm Ltd., Miramax Films, New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, and Universal Pictures."
Apocalypse Now, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars: Ep I, Back To The Future, The Mask. And possibly some Aliens in there somewhere. Good times. lol
First time I ever heard Dolby Digital 5.1 at home was with the DVD of Goldeneye, and my second disk was The Matrix. My first DVD player was the Panasonic A350, and first amp (that could decode both Dolby 5.1 and DTS) was the Sony STR-DB830. I was staggered by the difference in quality vs Pro Logic II, especially the sub response and separation.
No idea what to do with that DA20 I bought. lol I was intending to get it running, to help preserve the DD tracks from film. I always wondered if most surround tracks on DVD were remixed vs the theatrical version. I think many were a direct bit-for-bit copy, but who knows?
I've never heard "multi channel" headphones that sounded anywhere near good, with headphones it's pretty much psycho acoustic effect anyway and can be recreated on stereo phones with software; If you're into that get phones with precise imaging like Focal Elear or Sennheiser HD800 or HD800s and pair them with decent amplifier like Rebelamp. PS5 does amazing job at creating holographic sound stage if you enable 3D for headphones, but it's a pain to pull spdif signal out of it though.
Alright guys, I have maybe seen one comment that may have said what I’m about to say but no one else seems to mention it: Does anyone at all recall seeing this trailer before the theatrical showing of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones in 2002 at all? It might be a mix up of memory from maybe seeing something in 2003 but I swear I remember seeing this trailer before the movie multiple times.. could be a “Mandela effect” you could say but curious if I’m the only one
I can confirm that 6ch audio is indeed there, it sounded horrible though, so I checked metadata and it's indeed 64kbits per channel ogg file aka 128kbit mp3
@@crtgamer2355 Maybe, but it's probably youtube doing "it's thing" 15mpbs a-okay for 4k video, 0.5mbps for lossless audio? nope 225kbits is the best you're gonna get no matter how good your source file is.
@Wiegraf it depends on resolution and framerate, for 60hz 1080p video you get 128aac max, if you manually set quality to 720p 30hz you'll get 192aac, TH-cam music does support higher quality audio although I dunno how a small creator can access it. also note that aac is about 30% more efficient than mp3 or ogg meaning you get better quality at the same bitrate.
I guess surround's still not supported on most browsers? There was supposedly some kind of command line you could use to get it working in Chrome, but last I checked they removed that functionality.
Just seems to be stereo on android TV, oh well. Least now I have a video I can come back to to see if TH-cam ever update their apps to support 5.1 if apparently they store 5.1 now. Thanks!

Wow, this was a mini trip down memory lane!

That was great. Plays in 5.1 on my LG Oled TV TH-cam App.
The film-tech forums were right, the mix lacks a lot in the low end. Everything else sounds great other than the Deep Note at the end.
Apocalypse Now, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars: Ep I, Back To The Future, The Mask.

Can it also play in 5.1 on the mobile app through an Apple TV if you have a surround sound system hooked up to it?
Kudos to Pulp Fiction 🥰
I once owned 5.1 headphones, they were freakin amazing, wish I still had them.

@@Sebastian_Athea All I know my 5.1 headphones blew me away, they were massive, but it really worked, I was shocked.
you are a liar
bring it on punk
Woah sounds great through PS5 TH-cam app with Tempest 3D audio mixed with Dolby.
How about another best of video game music? You have very good taste and I've discovered some rockin' OST's cause of the sack.

Awesome
Joe Red, the movie pirate.
I can confirm that 6ch audio is indeed there, it sounded horrible though, so I checked metadata and it's indeed 64kbits per channel ogg file aka 128kbit mp3
Joe did say he captured the audio a long time ago, so maybe it was at a time when Realplayer was still a thing.

Where’s Dave?
He's in the audience. See his head?
@@soundsack5400 There he is! Tell him I said hi.
😂😂😂😂
Joe left him in Japan.
Do you have any more THX trailers?
Anymore episodes in the works?
I guess surround's still not supported on most browsers? There was supposedly some kind of command line you could use to get it working in Chrome, but last I checked they removed that functionality.
"--disable-audio-output-resampler --try-supported-channel-layouts" try these together
I'm letting you know that laptop to receiver to TV does not play in 5.1.
Where Form Film?
Wow no shit, it's about time You Tube. Sheesh... 5.1 is the best!
Just seems to be stereo on android TV, oh well. Least now I have a video I can come back to to see if TH-cam ever update their apps to support 5.1 if apparently they store 5.1 now. Thanks!
Works on the Roku TH-cam app at least. Someone else said the TH-cam app on their NVidia Shield also plays in 5.1.
@@GameSack Apple TV 4th gen also does the trick!
