I learn about the good old days from the 1930s-50s market hey day from a spirited 91 year old local, and grab a fantastic burger along the way before learning about Boris Johnson's favourite Romford fruit stall.

I know where Sims Close is because my paternal grandparents lived in nearby Gilbert Road. My Dad also remembers when he was a child crossing Mr and Mrs Sims in the street when they were alive.
Loving these Romford videos. Grew up in London lived on the Borne estate by Leather Lane Market, I now live not far from Romford (Dagenham) something so nostalgic about these kinda videos. Thanks so much, subbed x

I wish you could pop into your TARDIS and do the same thing in that Market 50-60 years ago... It was an amazing atmosphere, still on the medieval cobbles. Loads of fruit and veg stalls, pets, records and even butchers. I grew up on the veg!
Yes the London Road went through the middle of the market, buses, lorries and all, but the cattle had already gone by then LOL!
