Great song! Back in the day people hated this album, saying that it was too soft and strange. I wonder what the same people think about the current Helloween releases...As far as I'm concerned this album was great and songs like this, The Chance and Someones Crying are some of the best the band even put out.
I like everything Helloween recorded. From the rough, super-fast Walls, through more melodic things like Keepers I/II, both Pink Bubbles and Chameleon, and entire Deris era, where they got really "heavy". Never cared who sings/plays as long as I like it.

After his untimely passing, then Helloween guitarist Roland Grapow bought his legendary drumkit which he recorded countless Helloween classics in memory of him.
@@elliotgregory3356Thanks Man. He will live indefinitely on both the Keeper of the Seven Keys albums which are regarded as two of the most important and influential power metal albums ever made.
I guess after the Keepers, Pink Bubbles and Chameleon were too soft, humorous and ballad-driven for "hardcore power metal fans", which I kinda understand, but I don't agree. Chameleon had to be a big shock to everyone back when it was released, its biggest flaw is that it really doesn't sound like Helloween anymore. I'm so glad they got back to their feet after Kiske left, and I love early Deris-era and the Hansen/Kiske-era equally, that's right.
The funny thing is that you criticize Kiske's voice, which is still in a truly great shape (compared to many vocalists of his era) and praise Derise's! Kiske has lost very little of his range and still nails his old Helloween songs live, while Deris cracks, goes off key and has various vocal problems in general. The other funny thing is that both Weikath and Deris have praised Kiske's current vocal abilities in recent interviews. Unfortunately there is no hope for biased, hard core Deris fans.

Well, OK, but first of all Hey Lord happened like 12 years ago, so they're not "pushing" that so much these days, lol. Secondly, Helloween did songs like that because their shit is so damn epic that God was one of the only things that they could think of (especially in that badass era of the band) that made sense as subject matter... as much as I loved Kiske, would you prefer that they just stick to monty python shticks all the time? Maybe you should check out bands that dumb it down more : )
@AonaranMan Yeah, for sure man, but lets face it... most of the old school fans just like Kiske better because he sings with that power metal Bruce Dickinson thing that they can't get over. I love it too, but honestly, Deris does things that I've NEVER heard another vocalist do... Actually, its funny, because just NOW after I wrote that I looked down two comments and read JUST what I was talking about, LOL (see elyonatandavid). Its a joke... these kids can't recognize singing for shit!
Old school fans are too hard on Andi Deris. Kiske was a great singer... but Andi Deris is phenomenal, and the first couple of albums he did with the band showcase some of the best vocals ever done on a rock record. Both singers did at least 2 classic, unforgettable records with Helloween, and then some "experimental stuff "... in the case of both singers, some of the experimental stuff was amazing, and some of it was downright embarrassing. Again, this is a great song, kinda bad video.
Oh really? Don't try to lecture me on their story please, I know it backwards. Anyways, you shouldn't count the band's start from when they first made an album, they existed with Kai, Ingo and Markus already in 1981, 6 years before the first Keeper of The Seven Keys album. 6 years IS a long time you know. But no they weren't called Helloween before 1984, still 3 years before Kiske came in, but it's the same band even though it didn't have the same name.
I could never get into Deris' Helloween, it just got boring to me and Deris himself irritates the shit outta me. Looks and sounds corny, like he's trying too hard. The Kiske era on the other hand :) That's just God-like! Kai Hansen was also good on the Jericho album, though he was no technical singer, that album just ripped!
Kiske is the best vocal Helloween and their fans ever saw, but he was an unstable element within the band, and if he stayed an album more, he would turn the band into a pop-rock band. Kiske has no ties to the old band roots of melodic and power metal. Deris isn't the best vocalist the band could have , but he is faithful to the band origins, at least.
Rainmaker113 I agree with you, Kiske looks like Mustaine but I think your comment was in the I WANT OUT video, not this one (anyway I didn't mark down it). I'm a very fan of Megadeth and Kiske doesn't compares with him, Mustaine is a great guitarrist and compositor, may be he's not a great singer but it's Ok.
Needed to reply to the "deris = sux" section. Deris is one of the best singers of power metal. He doesnt have the key of kiske, but why should he have? Every singer has their own style to sing. Deris rocks! He is Helloweens savior. We all got our opinions ofc, but you should respect him even if you wouldnt like him. Its not easy to sing. Trust me. U know. Im a singer myself.
Well you hear it here and still you have this silly opinion. In this regard Albums with Hansen singing were more powerful, Chamaleon an PBGA you can find how untrue is the claim that Kiske is better, these albums were simply very unHelloween. Kiske drowned in himself
Well...if this is NOT heavy metal (as some of you seem to think...), tell me what is, then? The PBGA album is, to my opinion, a good Helloween album as well considering the fact that they where trying to go in a different musical direction... a matter of tastes, I suppose...
im pretty sure that hansen wrote all the really kick ass songs except for mayb eagle fly free, he did Victim of fate, phantoms of death, ride the sky, heavy metal is the law, and of course the two most freakin awsum and epic songs respectively I WANT OUT AND HALLOWEEN... only a good composer... jackass
Man what the fuck. We want Kiske to cooparate with Weikath and Hansen for once again and produce an album attached to a movie! Like The Wall from pink floyd! WE WANT METAL MOVIES!!! Fuck that im drunk :P But sounds good tho hahahaha \m/
o.o i wouldn;t say he sounds or look corny. Deris is a hell of a showmen and a good singer that sounds amazing for songs for his vioce and limited range. yes he has limited voca; range bit thats got nothing to do with talents just limitations.
eagle fly free, good, dr stein, good but annoying after a while, starlight, scratchy as hell, but kinda fun, and how many tears, victim of fate was the better epic on walls of jerico and guardians... as generic as ants... KAI HANSEN KICKS SO MUCH MORE ASS
it was the same guys who made the pink floyd video that made this video... sao its bound to be similar... even says that in a Helloween book that you get with the "extended version" of "pink bubbles go ape"
cuz back then it did sound nothing new (The title and album cover might be held responsible a bit) I hated it and so did my friends. Now I've seen this MV, Maybe I should look it up and give it a second chance. :)
helloween was so hit or miss with videos... they would have the greatest video you ever saw in your life and then follow it up with the most embarrassing shit ever. This one was a miss. Great song though.
@CoreyZ91681 I agree with everything you wrote except the last part. Nowadays Kiske's voice is even more mature than in Bubbles and Chameleon. He might strain a little in the very high notes but his voice is fuller, stronger, more controlled and generally better than ever: watch?v=9IQAXM_ztvA
@CarouselFlip deris is better than kiske kiske is good but deris is beter .... with kiske helloween have just a few good songs but with deris they have a lot more (sry about my english)
No, no, PBGA is a good album, the chameleon is not so good, but Kiske was the best power-metal singer of all time and no one will take me, and I think many people give me the truth

The PBGA album is, to my opinion, a good Helloween album as well considering the fact that they where trying to go in a different musical direction... a matter of tastes, I suppose...
im pretty sure that hansen wrote all the really kick ass songs except for mayb eagle fly free, he did Victim of fate, phantoms of death, ride the sky, heavy metal is the law, and of course the two most freakin awsum and epic songs respectively I WANT OUT AND HALLOWEEN... only a good composer... jackass
Who noticed the poster of this song in Stromae - Tous Les Mêmes clip?
Pink Bubbles has some great songs like Mankind, Someone's Crying and this.... great album
