    It would be a second faster than a MK3 GTI, 0-60 on those was 9 seconds. It's amazing how much cars have come on

    I loved what you said about the "stop/start" conception, Barrie! I've watched most of your videos over the years and tend to agree with everything you say. I take good note of your informed information and opinions over any car that I'm thinking of buying.

    This is probably the best car ever. My 2016 is the same spec in hatchback. Outclassed the 2 liter petrol Mondeo I was considering Will easy do 50 mpg. Driving like a Sant managed 62 mpg over 500 mile trip. 3 mode DSG with manual override = surprising performance. No sports car but otherwise brilliant

    I currently have a 2015 Toyota Auris hybrid estate and we struggle for space when we go camping, despite having a massive 1700 litre boot with seats folded.
    Showed the wife this and asked if we should do a part ex deal, but she wants to keep the Toyota as it is the first car in 10 years that has never given us trouble (Typical Japanese reliability) - I just can't talk her around otherwise I'd be down at the weekend for the Skoda.

      far better keeping the Wife happy than getting a new car, unless you then want to lose half of it in the divorce 😂

      There's always a next time. Worth the 2 hour drive for when we do jointly agree, based on the good reviews (4.9/5.0) - But it's a case of sticking with the trusty Toyota for now.

    Hi Barrie this was a brilliant review of the Octavia! I am currently in the market for an Octavia and am sure I have made a good choice on the back of your video 👍

      @@BarrieCrampton Thank you I sure will. I was quite surprised how well the 1.4 performed, I was a bit apprehensive before as I am coming from a 2.0 petrol MK4 Mondeo but having watched your video and seeing how well it coped on the motorway those reservations have been laid to rest

    Hi Barrie, your reviews are brill on all your motors, I have this car on lease but a manual but wish I got a automatic. When you say it feels like a track car do you feel all the road, I feel this quite strong in mine like all the cracks and patches in the road. Hate the start/stop too I always have this switched off. Keep up the great reviews Barrie!👍👍

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes you can feel a lot of the road, especially the imperfections but the plus side is it has great handling and holds the road well

    • @leerichardson4118
      @leerichardson4118 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BarrieCrampton yeah I feel the same, especially ripples in road surface is amplified into the steering wheel, apart from this it is a very good car to drive.

      ive just found a car internet that changes your old car on finance its called payment swap because the corsa i got still shaking when driving i need to upgrade it

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Craig Trigg it can only be like s normal garage where they give you what your car is worth, settle the finance off if theres enough equity and you take a new finance agreement out on the new one, as its against the law to sell a car thats on finance

    What is it with all these Crazy Drivers these days, that UBER driver Geezus. Seems to me like most Private hire drivers need to go retake there tests no indicators undertaking and just stop in the middle of busy roads for no reason when there's plenty of space to pull over...As for the 2019 Vehicles they need to do a mass recall as I've not seen 1 use the indicators yet so must be faulty from new I guess🙄😊.
    They closed the M57 the other night and even tho there was Red X,s in the outside 2 lanes there was still Cars and Wagons doing over 70 still in those lanes only to cut in at the slip road.
    Sorry Barry rant over.
    Great Video and Car.

      Preston is a nightmare, the Taxi drivers are unbelievable. I have started going into work an hour later as its like Death Race 2019, people cutting you up, pulling out in front of you etc etc

    So would you honestly buy a 1.4 tsi mated to the dsg gearbox or 6 speed manual yourself?

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the DSG gearbox but dont particularly like the servicing costs, but then it evens itself out as a new clutch and dual mass flywheel is probably about £1000 when that goes
